18 December MMXVII God and Prayer Back In Schools As students we start each day with the Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag, we should also start each day with a quick word of PRAYER!
As a country, we are moving farther and farther away from the principles and values in which this great country was founded and established upon.
It is in GOD we trust! What better way to recognize that than to communicate with God and express our appreciation and petition continued Mercy, Strength and Direction?
It just makes sense to pray and intercede daily on behalf of those in authority; our President and his council/ staff, every elected official, our Armed Forces/ Military, Schools and Educators, Health and Safety Personnel (Police, Fire, EMT, etc.) and our Worldwide Family.
We must remember what has made

I am a teenager who seeks and lives for God I feel it is a right for us Christians to have God and prayers back in school. Not everyone has to do it. At Least allow those who want to pray in school.
Unfair relativism was added and now there is no absolute wrong or right. I feel that other religions and beliefs have more rights and are able to thrash us Christians down.
There is so much bad in the schools know and days they call what's wrong right and what's right wrong.
II. How has it affected my Generation and other Generations
As a teenager I see so much evil and things that could be avoided. There was never as much school shootings back in 1800's neither 1900's as there is in the 2000's.
Even Statics show when god was taken out of the schools everything went downhill. Statics show Criminal arrest of teens is up 150% according to the US Bureau of Census.
Teen suicides in ages 15-19 years skyrocketed 450% according to the National Center of Health Services; illegal drug activity is up 6000% according to the National Institute of
The issue of prayer in school cannot be dealt with in a manner that will please everyone. The main thing that needs to be stressed is that tolerance of other people and their beliefs is the only true way to ensure that everyone has freedom and equality in America. Until that day comes there will always be groups of people who cause disruption in our schools and take away from what the focus really should be: quality education and an understanding of others as well.
There are many different philosophies regarding prayer in public school. It seems to be a difficult issue to decide upon. The opinions are wide-ranging and convoluted. This paper will attempt to highlight the many ideas and opinions as to whether prayers in public school should be allowed and to what extent. It will further show how our founders' idea of a separate church and state has been taken out of context and why prayer in school should be allowed, but not required.

Schools have become less safe. People blame either bad parenting or video games. Bullying is another factor as to why students end up shooting at schools and then ending their own life. It is so tragic and must be stopped.
Crime is way up. The family has broken up. Test scores of students taking a submarine dive. It's time for a change!" On the other hand, Secular Humanists, have several arguments focusing on why prayer in schools is a bad idea.
Schools in some states had prayer in the beginning of the day led by a school official. A New York state law required the Pledge of Allegiance under God and recognizing the dependence upon God. Also, the state of Arkansas also had a similar
An issue that has been constantly debated for years is whether voluntary prayer in public schools should be permitted. A student should be allowed to pray voluntarily at the beginning of each school day based on many reasons. Prayer based on moral beliefs reinforce good citizenship as defined by our forefathers. A daily reminder of a need for the belief of good over evil is a necessary part of this society. Daily voluntary school prayer should be re-instated in public schools due to three reasons, the historical basis of the beginning of the United States government, the serious moral decline since prayer has been outlawed, and the government infringement on the constitutional guarantee of individual freedom of personal beliefs.
"God help, I'm so lost!" If you listen carefully, this is a common thought that is heard throughout many schools in the nation. Is this thought appropriate? The following statement clearly shows that the law allows students and adults to practice religion, but at the same time be respective of others and their beliefs even if they do believe or if they don't. "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, or to petition the government for a redress of grievances." (First Amendment, The Constitution of the United States). Prayer is not normally permitted as a scheduled part of classroom activities, because it would result in the violation of the principle of church-state separation, which has been defined by court interpretations of the 1st Amendment to the U.S, Constitution. The separation principle is extended to Public school as an arm of the government, with an exception which can be permitted if, during the school year, a mixture of prayers, statements, etc are delivered, using material derived from a number of different religions and secular sources. So far, this has never been tried in a school or ruled upon by a court (Religion in Public).
I could just as easily have recited the Lord’s Prayer, which I also knew by heart, though my church attendance was sporadic. Or I could have led them through “Do Not Go Gentle Into that Good Night,” but it never seemed to fit the day’s events. So every day, I pledged allegiance to the flag. Their flag. Amen.
Prayer is so powerful that we don’t even realise what it can do for others and our own lives. The physical world is always effected by what’s happening in the spiritual world first so prayer is the place to go!
School prayer is a very controversial issue in today’s society. This issue has been a problem since America was first founded, in that the country was founded on religious beliefs. The Pilgrims wanted to be able to express their beliefs freely, but in England this freedom was not found, so they decided to come to the Americas, where their beliefs could be expressed freely. As time passed they realized that having this kind of freedom caused problems between different belief systems. Many people started questioning the founding of their nation and what the foundation was made of. This questioning is still going on today and people are torn between letting prayer in to the public school system or keeping it out.
to 24 year of age. Trends in rates of suicides for teens 15 to 19 years old
In 1996, more teenagers and young adults died of suicide than from cancer, heart disease, AIDS, birth defects, stroke, pneumonia and influenza, and chronic lung disease combined.
This is important because in New York there’s a state law that makes prayer a mandatory activity in the morning along with the Pledge of Allegiance. Steven Engel and multiple parents sued a New York school for over endorsed prayers. They claimed this had violated their beliefs and practices. That made the government look like they’re pushing one religion onto another human. The Supreme Court had banished prayer from school, but they allowed prayer in other public settings as well. This caused the school boards to eliminate religion from their curriculum and
Many of the students who participated claimed that the prayer helped direct their attention to what needed to be accomplished in class that day. In addition, he found that having a teacher pray for his or her students, or having a student pray for the other students, can produce a sense of unity in the classroom. Students will feel loved and cared for resulting in a classroom atmosphere that exudes positivity. One student said, “I am not a religious person by any means (I 'm an atheist), but I appreciated the way a prayer at the beginning of class ended all conversations and focused the students on the subject at hand. I equate it to turning down the house-lights at a concert hall to make the audience shut up and listen” (Grenardo, 2014, p. 50). This is an excellent example because the student is not religious at all, but he or she felt like the prayer really got the class’s attention focused on the upcoming tasks. This student was not offended by the prayer because it was not said in a way that made him or her feel excluded or unloved, it was a simple prayer that expressed a wish for the students to be able to learn and succeed. Prayers not only help focus the students’ attention, but evidence has been shown that it also has positive effects on their
