Power transformers are the most expensive and strategic components of electric power system [1]. It plays an important role by interconnecting in every stage of power transmission and distribution system [2]. The advantage of power transformers are mainly used for either step up or step down voltages according to the application requirement. The population of transformers in service is increasing because of the load growth, which is continuously subjected to electrical, mechanical, thermal and chemical stresses during its operation causing degradation. Practically, the power transformer is one of the high risk equipment in electric power system due to its harsh operating condition at various circumstances such as high temperature, emergency …show more content…
The collected data include the transformer location, date and time, transformer failure duration, the disruptions in terms of power supply interruptions, protection accomplishment and transformer repair time etc. From the total failures of 196 units, the age of the population is in range of 2 to 30 years and the average age is 15 years. The number of failures of power transformers per voltage subpopulation during 2009-2013 and their total numbers are tabulated in Table 1. Table 2 shows the number of power transformer failure in various geographical zones during 2009-2013. The power transformer components based failures during 2009-2013 are shown in Table 3. Based on the failure data, various indices of power transformer failures were analyzed. The failures of power transformers fall under different failure categories. These failure categories are related to transformer component, protection, electric network, working environment conditions, human error, design/manufacturing/installation failures and unclassified failures (others) [9]. But, the data availed from TANTRANSCO/TANGEDCO electric utility, deals with the voltage, geographical zone and power transformer component related
1. How was Lincoln able to grow and prosper for so long in such a difficult commodity industry that forced out other giants such as General Electric, Westinghouse and BOC? What is the source of Lincoln’s outstanding and enduring success?
Lincoln Electric is a multinational the manufactures’ welding products. The company’s headquarters is located in Euclid Ohio. They have sales offices in 160 countries; this company has 42 factories. They have contracts with 19 nations too. The business model of this company has been studied at Harvard University.
Under what conditions might the parties to the alliance discussed in this case dissolve or end the relationship?
General Electric is a state-of-the-art company that specializes in building excellent appliances from lighting fixtures to kitchen appliances along other products. You will find many of these products in millions of homes and offices, factories, and retail facilities around the world work better. GE has a training and development program that employees can use. This program has enabled GE to remain prosperous since 1892. The General Electric was established by J. P. Morgan and Charles Coffin, G. E. has developed a management strategy that has penetrated the complex boundaries between management stages. Not only does GE have training programs available for its managers and employees, but for their customers as well. G.E’s entry-level leadership and experienced leadership programs have allowed this company to excel. G.E. also believes in having a learning culture. Learning is accomplished at G.E.’s John F. Welch Leadership Development Center. These programs and center have greatly contributed to the success and longevity of G.E.
It was in 1836, two brothers named Adolphe and Eugene Schneider acquired the Creusot mines, forges and foundries in LeCreusot, France. The founding Schneider family benefited from the spectacular rise of industry that took place in the early 19th Century by making smart technical choices and building a strong network of relationships.
The United States located electronic company Electrocorp faced the problem of declining profitability due to rising production costs, specifically high wages, costly worker's safety and environmental standards. In order to solve this problem Electrocorp is deciding whether to relocate some of their plants to South Africa, Mexico, or the Philippines.
Technical Major Incidents occur when there are failures in technological systems. This could include faulty components of an airplane, defective rail tracks, radiation emissions, computer failures and many more and usually happen at any time without warning. For example – The Air France Flight 4590 Disaster (Concorde). Some causes of a technological major incident could include, faulty wiring, design flaws, wear and tear of materials, improper maintenance and many more.
· B-phase transformer (EMTU-TT01) · Feedback electronic wattmeter · Multi-range moving-iron ammeter · Instrument voltage transformer THEORY AND INTRODUCTION ----------------------- Transformers are used all over the world to step-up and step-down electricity. The transformer is one of the most commonly used electrical devices. The reason the transformer is so popular is because they range in size from 240V to well over 240kV, stepping -up and stepping-down electricity all over the world.
This paper will explain a product that is recalled, the date it was recalled and the reason it was recalled. It also will explain weather the manufacturer is liable for negligence. It will also explain the relationship with the product that is recalled when it comes to the duty of care, standard of care, breach of the duty of care, Actual injury, proximate injury, and also the defensed to negligence.
... failure, only 650 failures recorded, which only covers 7.1% of the whole errors made by the workers or robots in the factory. This means high load level has 7.8 times increased risk or failure rate compare to low load level, and moderate load level obtained 5.3 times.
As an engineering student, design, develop and test electrical equipments is the major purpose of all time. In other words, electrical engineer is concerned with using electricity to transmit electric power. In electrical engineering, there are extensive subfields such as power engineering, control system and signal processing. It is also worth to point out the difference between electrical engineering and electronic engineering. According to the research, electronic engineering is a major that deal with the electronic system such as computers and radar, to be more specific, electronic engineers are concerned with using electricity to process information.
Refrigerators and stoves are the main product lines in which Atlas Eléctrica has its core competences. They are also working fine due to the production system.
Electricity and electrical components are a major part of our lives today. Our lives pretty much come to a halt if there is a power outage or if our electrical devices stop working, sometimes we even start panicking because we are so dependent on these components that we cannot afford to lose them and their importance and use only increases as time passes. We all use these electrical devices and also electricity itself but most of us do not think about the math and physics that works behind all of these things.
Case Study:Hindustan Unilever Limited. Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) is India's largest fast moving consumer goods company, with leadership in Home & Personal Care Products and Foods & Beverages. HUL's brands, spread across 20 distinct consumer categories, touch the lives of two out of three Indians. They endowed the company with a combined volume of about 4 million tonnes and sales of Rs.10,000 crores.
During the life cycle of the parts failure occurs some it is serious in nature and takes long duration to identify and isolate the trouble some time it is simple just change the parts and repair time is less. The MTTR is important as the repair time has an overall effect on the operation and as a result revenue is affected. The Maintenance Management team always try to keep the MTTR as low as possible by keeping a expert team and backing of spares and specialized tools
