Allowing people that are in power and well connected to be above the law shows how power iniquities can lead into class divide, and corruption. Everyone should be under the law no matter who they are or what they do. However, this is not the case in the corrupt societies, where people with power can get away with everything. The incident when Ozi killed the boy, and he did not get in trouble, what power iniquities does. Simile was presented in the quotation, “lookS like an overgrown child.” (Hamid, 96). In this part of the quotation it shows how Daru is comparing Ozi to an overgrown child using the word “like” .This quotation is used to express how mad Daru is. Class struggle is an important aspect in this quotation because it shows how high class citizens can get away with everything, obverse the low class people, they will not be able to get out of troubles easily and this shows how class struggle is presented. A law that was passed during the 1990s allows the wealthy people, as well as the powerful ones to get away from their crime by paying money to the victim’s family, (Admin). This shows how power iniquities allows corruption to spread, because if people that are in power can get judged, they will think twice before doing anything illegal, and this proves how power iniquities causes corruption.
