There are many imbalances of power in the world that affect all people. These are imbalances that can be negative and can make people feel a lack of self-confidence and emotional experiences due to over powering or taking advantage of a milder or less confident individuals. Imbalances in power can be referred to as bullying in some situations and then there are other negative impacts of it that can affect one’s professional life. Trying to get a job in life can create an imbalance when two of the five people applying have their masters’ degrees and the other three barely have experience. This creates an imbalance in power making most of the group less likely to get the position applied for. I also think that having seniority in a situation can cause an imbalance in power. I personally have dealt with an imbalance of power when dealing with a previous job I had. The benefits of the job were mainly based on the top employee and how well they did their job, and if they did well enough to get a raise then the whole sales team got a raise as well. The situations of power imbalance that I have encountered have been mostly negative, but have had positive encounters as well. I think there have been instances where bullying comes into play because of the age difference of children, causing one to bully the other. Maybe smaller children will face a power imbalance because they aren’t as big as the other children therefor creating a negative experience for the smaller child causing he or she to be bullied for being small. There could also be instances where the older sibling knows he or she must protect and teach their younger sibling resulting in a positive experience of power
