Every issues definitely have its pros and cons implication. The same goes for the delayed marriages. There are similarities for positive implication between Malaysia and Singapore which are education or economic opportunity and marital stabilities. Keramat, K. (august 2015). Malaysian agrees that delayed marriage could lead to producing maladjusted children due to the fact that parents may not be able to engage with their children effectively well due to aging and engagement with likelihood thereby making it difficult for them to socialize with their children well and mould their characters. It results in negative outcomes such as less energy to train children, emotional distance between parents and children. However, Singaporean disagrees on this. They are saying late marriage would not make parents socialize less with their children and thus, children of delayed marriage would not become delinquents based solely on this factor. Singaporean agrees that it reduces girl’s risk for physical, sexual, psychological and economic abuse. It increases girl’s and women’s decision making power and improve their reproductive health. It decrease the risk of HIV/AIDS and sexually transmitted infections (STD). Whereas, Malaysian still stand to the point of delayed marriage may lead to change in the sequence of reproductive health and form of well being in women and girls. Delayed marriage lead to an increase in the likelihood of young people having multiple sexual thereby increasing the likelihood of spread of HIV/AIDS. It is problematic as it brought issues of dating, premarital sexual relations, unwanted pregnancies, abortions, STDs and AIDS. Risk of this is very high among never married people compared to married based on the fact that they are more likely to change partners due to pre-marital sex.
