The population of the world is nearing eight billion people. The population is taking over the world, and the food is diminishing. The population is growing too large for the planet to sustain. There must be rules about the growth of the population if the human race is to survive and grow together. If the race that is humanity wishes to survive, population control must be in effect. Overpopulation is the idea or belief that the population of the earth is growing and cannot grow much more without more food being grown or made. Overpopulation would help control growth by having only one baby born or no children at all. This would help limit the population and allow the world to grow and the population does not get out of hand. If there is no control, food will be an issue. If the United States cannot grow twice the amount of food that it is right now, than the U.S. will have more starving people. This is the only way because space exploration is limited today to where one can go. Overpopulation is a serious issue. This is an issue that will start to haunt humanity today, and will continue on in the far future is nothing is done about it. If every couple were to only have one child, the population would be controlled. And, if possible, only people who can really sustain the baby should have them. People in the slums should not reproduce if the child will grow up poor and with malnutrition. Even though humans have the right to give birth does not mean they should. Just as it is the right for the children to grow up to become better, to not have to live in these conditions. This is why population control must exist. Not for the people of yesteryear, but for the future of the human
