In recent years the popularity of table tennis has been growing considerably since its birth late in the 19th century by the upper class in England. Table tennis has begun as a recreational physical activity and social diversion during the 1880’s when adherents of lawn tennis adapted their sport recreation be played indoors during the winter season. (a brief overview of biomechanical aspects of the game for coaches and players)
Among different games and sports, table tennis is an extremely fast indoor game. Today, it is an accepted fact that table tennis is one of the most popular racket sport in the world and the second most popular participation sport. (construction of norms for skill test table tennis players)
Although it is faster, more than it was in previous years, it has always been the concern of the ITTF to ensure that table tennis remains a contest of human skills and not that of the technology surrounding advances in equipment. When ping pong played at competitive levels, this sport demands extreme levels of agility, accuracy, coordination, and stamina, as well as split-second timing and expert tactical maneuvering. Process of decision making by professional players occurs within milliseconds and if players can decide faster they can take the best action to hit the ball sending to the best point of the table where it’s hard or impossible for opponent to cover. Plyometric are training techniques used by athletes in all types of sports to increase strength and explosiveness (Chu, 1998).
Plyometric is including of a rapid stretching of one muscle (eccentric action) immediately is followed by a concentric or shortening action of the same muscle and connective tissue (Baechle and Earle, 2000). Plyometric drills are usually i...

One of the important concerns of ping pong coaches is how to treat a better ping pong player for quicker decision making during competition and to maximize performance, table tennis coaches and athletes alike need to be concerned with the principles that affect reaction time (Yoshida et al., 1995).
Definition operant
Reaction time is one of human abilities that involves in physical activity almost in all sports and it is important factor to winning when an athlete dominate others, it means that he/she should produce faster response (Schmidt etal., 2005). Reaction time is an accurate indicator of speed and effectiveness of decision making.

In the 1960s and 1970s, tennis players used wooden racquets and strings made from cow gut. The four main wooden racquet brands that players used were Dunlop, Slazenger, Wilson, and Spalding (“Tennis
In the 1940’s a man named Joseph G. Sobek got tired of how hard handball was on his hands. He was dissatisfied with the indoor sports. He worked at a rubber factory in Bridgeport, CT when he decided to start a new sport. He lived in Greenwich, CT and was professional tennis player and a pro squash and handball player.
Imagining myself as a high school soccer coach, I would like to optimize my team’s kicking performance. Some players consistently kick the ball successfully with the correct use of power and accuracy. To ensure that all players are able to achieve the same optimal kicking habits, this paper will document (1) the effective and ineffective habits of kicking, (2) describe biomechanical based kicking assessments, (3) describe how these assessments will measure the effective aspects of kicking and expected findings, and (4) provide suggestions on how I may modify programming based on the insights gained from these assessments.
In sports, you make split second decisions based off your reaction times. If a basketball team were in a game and one teammate was able to get free from his opponent for a second but his teammate with the ball could not reaction fast enough, he would miss his opportunity to score than play. According to the test takes by the American Association of Health, if a man and a women were put into the same predicament, the man would do better than the
To be a successful teacher not only in physical education but in all classroom settings you must be able to fully stimulate your students to think critically about the problem at hand. In sports thinking critically and making split second decisions can be the difference between winning and losing; through repetition students will be able to better identify which situations call for which moves. This ability to identify one's current situation in a given activity and react appropriately is referred to as tactical awareness; this is the basis for the tactical games model. Through implementing the tactical games model in your classroom your students will better understand not only the games being played but the tactics that are universal to all sports.
Gawande talks about how he came up with the idea of hiring a coach to watch him perform surgery after an experience he had playing tennis. Years of playing the game and not improving, Gawande incidentally finds himself play tennis with a young man who is a tennis couch. The young man gives Gawande a tip about keeping his feet under his body when hitting the ball. At first he is uncertain, stating, “My serve had always been the best part of my game…..With a few minutes of tinkering, he’d added at least ten miles an hour to my serve. I was serving harder than I ever had in my life” (Gawande, 2011, p.3). Gawande is so greatly impacted by this experience that he decides to hire a coach to help him with is professional endeavors.
Soccer is a sport that is all about motion and how to use movements most effectively. Speed and velocity are very important when it comes to motion because with out them there would be no motion. When playing soccer speed is essential to being a productive player. The game is fast paced and so the players must also be quick on their feet. Soccer players may not know that velocity is essential to being able to control their movements. But physics proves that both are essential to soccer. Speed and direction are b...
Tennis is the world’s fastest growing sport today for many reasons. One of the biggest reasons is the variety of opponents one can face. In examining the game of tennis, most players can be categorized into one of four groups, the talented, the rabbits, the pushers, and the blasters. These different players make the game different each time one plays. This changes each match for the better, or for the worse.
There are many aspects to the game of basketball and physics can be applied to all of them. Although to be good at basketball it is not necessary to play it from a physics point of view. Basketball players become good by developing muscle memory for the actions that must be performed in the game of basketball from years of practice. Nevertheless knowing some of the physics in the game of basketball can help a good player be a better player. In this paper I will cover the three most important aspects of the game, shooting, dribbling and passing.
Tennis is a sport that many people love to play. It is not the hardest sport in the world to learn. When playing against someone, it is called a match. Tennis can be played one on one or a doubles match. The main object of the game is to hit the ball over the net, inside of the lines so that the opponent can't get to it. There are two lines about two feet parallel to each other that outline the court. In a singles match, the inner line is the out of bound line, while the outer line is out of bounds in a doubles match. If you want to play, take a look at my two favorite tennis players because they are masters at serving and scoring, a few key aspects of the game.
Hearing the loud “thump” as the ball hits the racket is extremely satisfying, especially if your life now revolves around this fast-paced and exhilarating sport. Tennis is an outdoor game played by two individuals or pairs of players on a clay or grass court that’s divided by a low net. Each game is played with tennis rackets and small, yellow elastic balls. Tennis was first introduced in Wales and the United Kingdom in 1873 by “Major Walter Wingfield” (tennistheme.com). While most sports are easy to pick up, tennis takes extreme dedication to learn how to play the game, to perfect the amount of technique it takes, as well as its great impact on one’s personal life.
This research task requires that, through participation in skill learning and game play during the volleyball unit we have been required to observe and analyse the characteristics of skilled performers; receive feedback on weaknesses in technique and develop and participate in training activities that could correct these weaknesses.
In a one hour match of tennis, a male can burn as many as 600 calories and a female can burn up to 420 (Groppel); tennis also raises optimism and lowers risk of depression and anxiety (Ogoen). Tennis improves cardiovascular health and mental health as well as encourages social behavior. Tennis includes many different grips and techniques that enable the ball to have different types of spin. Tennis is also great for children and the community. Tennis is a sport that improves the community through being more physically, mentally, and socially active.
