Point of view is an important aspect of how you are received information through a story. In the story ¨ Jury of Her Peers¨ is third person limited and ¨trifles¨ which is third person objective. Between the two stories, they start on different views, so we are going to see through the narrators eyes, and both trifles and jury of her peers are told exactly the same story. At the beginning of both the short story and play, they start through two different points of view. ¨ When martha Hale opened the storm-door and got a cut of the North wind, she ran back for her big woolen scarf. “ ‘I could’ve come, retorted Mrs.Hale shortly. ‘I stayed away because it weren’t cheerful--and that’s why I ought to have come.’ I-she looked around -- ‘i’ve never liked this place. Maybe because it’s down in a hollow and you don’t see the road. I don’t know what it is,but it’s a lonesome place, and always was. I wish i had come over to see Minnie Foster sometimes. I can now--’ she did not put it into words.” This evidence proves that we know the thoughts towards Mrs.Hale not being there more. The fact that it shows her thoughts and only hers toward the situation, proves that it is being narrated through her and what she sees is what we know. Another quote also represents the fact that she wanted to come over more. “ ‘yes, it would, wouldn’t it?’ agreed Mrs.Hale, a certain determined naturalness in her voice. She picked up the sewing, but now it dropped in her lap, and she murmured in a different voice: ‘ but I tell you what i do wish, mrs.Peters. I wish I had come over sometimes when she was here. I wish--I had.” this quote also shows that she seemed a little sad about not visiting a lot. As we can tell from what she told us, it seems like she feels somewhat guilty for not being around often and maybe she thought she could she could have prevented it.
