In my reading of “Good Bones” by Maggie Smith was rather a revelation just how another human aspects and perspective of our world. In this poem, I see an insecure person that is afraid of society. Also, the human wants to keep their children away from society because they made a point of the half of the world is evil and wants to keep them shielded from it. I roughly thought about this poem and how it was powerful in word selection however It appeared to me as a person detested about the world’s economy, plus, the privileged of consuming all the earth’s natural resources. Although it may seem that way it makes the world thought-provoking by people and their stupidity because one day we will lose all resources and back to off the grind. The person explains of life being short however, which is true to some extend because life is something precious and we human are fortunate to live. Even some don’t live to reach the certain amount of years to live life to the fullest. That is what I took out of the poem was to live and to treasure what you have plus, not to take it for …show more content…
American is in a huge crisis because we are in debt by greedy business men and looking to find the solution by money-making into war with other countries for their resources. That has caused many complications in United States and I don’t have a problem with people defending their children from society. But I don’t know what the writer meant from when she said “bagged, sunk in the lake”. I reflect and thought of this as psychotic and was shocked of seeing this in a poem. In other words, I reflect of how crazy this world can be and which makes it worse because there are senseless and very mischievous people in this world. The feeling of people that are psychotic puts me on edge and makes me watch out who I talk to and become friends
This poem has a deeper meaning than what means the eye at first glance. The ending is interesting and was worth a third and even fourth go over. “So, this can be a defining moment, but not a big question, because no one ever figures those out. Still, one day when someone does, might it not be a person like you staring down a bear looking for lunch?” This could mean several things, but this kept coming to mind. Maybe the answer to life is just to live life. Not to feed in to things that take up time and don’t matter. Life is short and someday you may be the one who is facing the difficult situation. Tilley puts his reader on the spot and asks what would you do in this situation. Also, by stating that it is a defining
This poem reflects on how when you lose someone you truly care about it affects you mentally. When we lose someone who we're really close to, we tend to hold a grudge and start questioning our love for the world. We lose ourselves when we
In the end, the poem is looking to show what actions can do in the long run. It teaches us to be very cautious with everything we do since it can affect the people around us. It can have good or bad
This poem shines importance on going through thing s and how you have to start some place. I found this book very inspirational and it has refreshed my perspective on life. My people that came before me went through so much just so that I could even have to opportunity or ability to read this book and wright a review on my own.
On the surface, "life" is a late 19th century poem by Paul Laurence Dunbar. The poem illustrates the amount of comfort and somber there is in life. Unfortunately, according to Paul Laurence Dunbar, there is more soberness in life than the joyous moments in our existence. In more detail, Paul Laurence Dunbar demonstrates how without companionship our existence is a series of joys and sorrows in the poem, "Life" through concrete and abstract diction.
Overall, dwell on this process of changing throughout the poem, it can be understood that the poet is demonstrating a particular attitude towards life. Everyone declines and dies eventually, but it would be better to embrace an optimistic, opened mind than a pessimistic, giving-up attitude; face the approach of death unflinchingly, calmly.
First of all, ‘The Lovely Bones’ is about a girl named Susie Salmon and tells a story of how she died and how people get along together and live without her. She was a normal fourteen-year-old girl when she was murdered in the novel 's opening pages. She narrates the rest of her story from heaven, often returning to Earth to watch over her loved ones; mostly family, some friends and Mr. Harvey and the other people he kills. ‘Lovely Bones’ is represents Susie’s body the connection of heaven to earth, earth to heaven. This is main symbolism of this book as Susie. ‘She began to see things without her and the events that her death will influence her in heaven and her family and friends in earth.’ In this passage, the author talks about her life
...is a romantic poem that teaches a lesson about life. Its use of figurative language makes the poem appealing to the readers. It talks about life being fun
Exploration of the philosophical part of life has been a very common thing for poets in the past. They love to play mind tricks through their poems that have a deeper meaning of life. They always try to play it off in some simple word play, but there is actually an insanely deeper meaning to the poem. Nine times out of ten it deals with life in some way. It usually will try to teach a lesson of some sort, or maybe even give some insight to how you should treat life. The author William Wordsworth is a lyrical genius when it comes to his poetry. He says some extremely simple things that have this crazy deep meaning. He always uses his words so that it may seem fairly simple, but there is so much complexity in the poems. He is often known for his essay style poetry as well. They are poems, but
The poem is about the speaker's notion, that losing things in life is an art and that it is not
Selfishness and inconvenience can lead to far worst conflict. In this poem, it shows how harsh and cruel life can be. There were many people dying every day and fighting for a living. However, for those who live in the peaceful areas, they basically did nothing about helping the world. The fact that they did not do anything about it, it’s because they only care about themselves and not willing to take a stand to solve the problem. In the poem of “It Is Dangerous to Read Newspapers” by Margaret Atwood. One way to read about this poem is that people should take responsibility to the things around them, it’s everyone’s obligation to help the world and help those who suffered from a disease, war, poverty and etc.
To me the poem seems like a lament for the poverty of these people and
In conclusion, the poem helps you to realize and accept that just like birth is natural, death is a natural process in life. No matter what, death is inevitable. But instead of holding on to the sad memories, you can use the happier memories to cope and deal with the loss of a loved one or family pet. However, you are able to be at peace with the fact that you loved them until the end.
This poem makes it seem like when you lose someone you go into a small amount of depression for a while. Because they want nothing to go on anymore they just want everything to stop and them be able to have time to
In conclusion death should be celebrated because if life is a gift in which every day is a new day to accomplish new goals and conquer any obstacle death should be the end of a satisfy life that live pleasantly . The poem emphases that idea of taking death as a new chapter, in which we remember all the encounters we have had from childhood memories to new experience we had as we get older. In so many ways death comes as our birth starts expected in some point but unpredictable when the moment would come.
