Conflict is relevant because in the film, Naomi Wolf, Third Wave Feminism (2008), it talks about objectification, sexual harassment, having to worry about how a women looks compared to fashion models and stereotypes. All of these topics are seen as major conflicts between society in today’s world. Symbolic interaction is relevant to the film is the concept of judging others you are not born with, you are taught to judge others based on what you are raised to believe. For examples, seeing a hijab when you are young, you would know nothing about, especially if you are from a small town in central America, yet we are raised to be cautious and leery of people who hijabs based on the assumptions that were installed in us while growing up. Conflict is presented in this film is gender commincation to children. Children are told, girls wear pink, boys wear blue. This alone causes an abundance of problem, especially if a child is unsure about his/her sexuality or how they want to identify themselves. According to Anthony Schullo (2015), we set a either or path for children. Symbolic interaction occurs when girls and boys are taught that they are supposed to like a certain toy and a certain way to wear their hair or clothing.
