The film that I watched was called The Bad News Bears. When I watched this film years ago, as a young teen I just saw it as a story about two baseball teams. One team, the Yankees, that had a good coach and played exceptionally well together. The other team The Bad News Bears, was just that bad. The players appeared to be similar to that of a group of misfits. These were the kids that will usually were chosen last in their gym class or just about anything else pertaining to sports. The Yankees started off winning most of their games because that’s what they did, win. At times, winning at any cost. The Bad News Bears, however started in the wrong direction. They lost their first few games by large margins while the other teams in …show more content…
Amanda became his star pitcher. He also picked up an athletic kid named Kelly. Kelly was somewhat of a troublemaker, but he was a tremendous ballplayer. Kelly and Amanda were the stars of the team and their great play helped to motivate the others. The Bears eventually got better and ended up making it to the playoff, then the championship. The Bears of course ended up playing The Yankees. This was your typical David versus Goliath storyline. After a well fought battle they eventually lost the game on the last play. They did however win the respect of the other as well as the people at the …show more content…
It 's not always about how things look on the outside, but more about your inner self. More about getting those individuals to believe in themselves. The film helped me to see the value of building up self esteem. I know in math some of the kids that say they don’t like math just had a bad experience with it. Usually I’ll try and give them something simple just to start to let them feel a sense of accomplishment. Then I usually will continue to build from there. This film never gets old. It’s still very relatable today and a young audience would be able to see themselves in any of those characters. This film reminded me that kids are coming to class with many different experiences, emotional phases, as well as insecurities. I must remain cognizant of them along with continuing to be that positive role model they need. I would recommend this film to anyone that has kids they would like to keep encouraged as well the ones they believe are

This film tries to show that these young people are under influents of American movies and culture. They don’t really obey their parents, because they’re blaming their parents for anything that happened during the world wars. But at the same time the movie doesn’t try to blame everything on them. It wants to show that with pushing the young kid too far, nothing is going to get fix.
The teams owner had forced the players to take a salary cut because of the declining attendance. On average they were paid between three thousand and six thousand dollars. The players involved were first baseman Chick Gandil, Eddie Cicotte, Lefty Williams, “Shoeless Joe Jackson,” Fred McMullen, Swede Risberg, Happy Felsch, and Buck Weaver. (“Bankston, Carl. L”) Joseph Sullivan was a gambler from Boston and Arnold Rothstein was from New York City. Chick Gandil approached Sullivan and offered to t...
1910 to 1920 was the one of the greatest decades for Major League Baseball. Many amazing events occurred during this decade; although, some devastating and extremely sad events also occurred. Half of these years were taken up by war, even many Hall of Fame players served. This decade still ended up being a great one for Major League Baseball. From Hall of Fame greats to Negro League pitchers, this decade produced greats. The 1910’s also set up the 1920’s for amazing players too.
Abner Doubleday may not have known that his game would change people, cities, and an entire nation, but that happened to Milwaukee and the United States. Milwaukee’s “first” baseball game played in 1859, ended after three innings with a score of 40-35 (Mishler 1). Yet, that was only the beginning of Milwaukee’s love affair with baseball. Fans have cheered for Bears, Brewers and Braves, among others. Through thick and thin, Milwaukeeans have supported their heroes and the heroes have given it right back; this is the story of Milwaukee and its main love, baseball.
The team took another hit, when many of its better players left to serve in the military during World War II, but again was able to come back strong and win the 1942 World Series and play in the 1943 World Series. What finally brought about the end of the Kansas Ci...
...ment through discussing Nell's (under) development in each area. I learned the concepts and diverse information about the different stages of moral and intellectual development and how important language development is for one's character. However, I would not recommend this movie to a feature psychology class because I believe there are better, more interesting, and more educational movies to watch than Nell. I would recommend showing "Forrest Gump" for the unit if developmental psychology. Forrest Gump was born with limited intelligence and, through the strength and encouragement of his mother, lives to experience the fullness of life. Forrest Gump is much more interesting than Nell, who was born with above average intelligence yet, because of the fears and limitations of her mother, lives the first thirty years of her life apart from the world and its challenges.
There is a scene in this movie where the coach takes the team on a long run in the middle of the night. They end up at the break of dawn at a cemetery. The coach tells the young men of the battle that was fought on that ground. He told of the blood shed on those grounds that turned the whole area red. This can help many people that want to make a difference in this world. They had to stand up for their new knowledge to people that they love and trust.
A Class Divided The film A Class Divided was designed to show students why it is important not to judge people by how they look, but rather who they are inside. This is a very important lesson to learn: people spend too much time looking at people not for who they are but for what ETHNITICY they are. One variable that I liked about the film is that it showed the children how it felt to be on both sides of the spectrum. The HYPOTHESIS of the workshop was that if you out a child and let them experience what it is like to be in the group that is not wanted because of how they look and then make the other group the better people group that the child will have a better understanding of not to judge a person because of how they look but instead who they are as people. I liked the workshop because it made everyone that participated in it, even the adults that took it later on, realize that you can REHABILITAE ones way of thinking.
And there were three of them so the batting was no problem. Richie and clark just struck out so Gus could just hit a homerun. That was there order of stuff that happened in all of their games but one day they had a game but they were cheating they were going to put in a thirty year old and they had a fake birth certificate. It said “i am 12” in green crayon. They gave the fake birth certificate to the umpire with ten dollars in it. So he took it and said “play ball”. They were getting crushed but the guy got drunk and he could barely see. But there were bases loaded and there's three bases and only three people on the team. The ump looked in the dugout and there was richie's brother so he said he has to play of they have to forfeit. So he walked out with a sword and hid behind the catcher. So someone got him a bat and the first pitch everyone was cheering him on but the second pitch hit him right in the shoulder and he was crying. But everyone was cheering because there were bases loaded and he got to take a base so they got a free run and it was the winning run!!! So they won another game but the league wasn't
The movie being analyzed is the Sandlot. The relationship between the two main characters is a friendship, which begins with one boy who is desperate for friends and another who is searching for The Sandlot’s last teammate. The friendship between Benny and Small’s is an accurate depiction of the development of friendship in real life. In the movie, Scotty Smalls (Smalls) moves to a new neighborhood. One of his new neighbors happens to be the best baseball player in the neighborhood, Benny, who eventually teaches Smalls how to catch and throw so that the team has a ninth player. What begins as filling a baseball position eventually leads to a strong bond between the two main characters. Throughout the summer, the team plays baseball, goes swimming, plays baseball, goes to the fair, and plays baseball. A dog known as “The Beast” lives behind the fence of The Sandlot. The Beast is said to have eaten every baseball and person that has ever been on the other side of that fence, so when the boys hit Small’s stepfather’s signed baseball over the fence, they have to come together to retrieve the baseball. In the movie The Sandlot, directed by David M. Evans, the development of the friendship between Scott Smalls and Benjamin Franklin Rodriguez is conveyed through their communication. The Sandlot shows the progression of a friendship and the importance of communication to help a friendship flourish.
The film begins with a new teacher, Jaime Escalante, arriving to Garfield High School in East Los Angeles. On his first day he comes to find out that the computer science class he thought he was going to teach doesn't exist, because the school has no computers. In turn he is assigned to take over the general algebra class. From the beginning the film portrays the school as one on its downfall, and with students that are facing poverty. The class he receives is full of students who, according to other teachers at the school, are unintelligent and incapable of learning much of the material. Students cannot be expected to learn material when the teachers themselves do not believe in the stude...
Have you ever seen those? He actually looks like that,” “I think he looks like an orc.” “oh yeah!” “If i looked like that,” said Julian voice, kind of laughing.” this shows how his parents make a bad choice because he is being made fun of and even by his own friends and so much it makes him cry. Although “she brought her lunch tray on the table, plopped her backpack on the floor, and sat down across from me.” This shows how even though he is being made fun of but he is still making friends that he wouldn’t have made if not gone to
Not only does this movie deal with the issues of society, but it points to biblical scriptures that help lead us in the right direction. The biggest lesson that this film taught me was that if I put my complete faith in God, then no matter what happens, he will provide, watch over, and take care of me. I learned that expressing belief in God is not enough. I have to live everyday believing and trusting him and I have to show my trust and faith through my actions and my words.
