My first experience of insight towards physical therapy was a personal experience that involved my father. After being hit by a vehicle, he suffered a closed-head injury, and later entered several settings of physical therapy in aims to walk once again. As years passed by, his wheelchair transitioned to a walker, the walker to a cane, and eventually he was walking without any assistance. As my father regained the ability to walk, I witnessed his change of attitude, and the overall impact of his new physical and functional independence. Similar to a physical therapist, I consult and diagnose complications, suggest a variety of plans, treat them by design of what works best in accordance to individual lifestyle, and finally prescribe a goal-oriented plan for each person to live with. Communication is essential for my current job as well as for a physical therapist. Understanding body language, facial expression and tone of voice are all imperative attributes to effectively establish open communication. There are many noncompulsory ways to encourage patients and the overall community. I feel confident in my capability of gaining trust and commitment through a multiform motivational approach. Recognizing multiple barriers that affect patient goals will allow me to improve behavioral response and provide a significant impact towards self-reliance. I will make certain that my patients are aware of how their physical therapy sessions improve management of pain and hidden dysfunctions affecting their mobility and stability. With the rising need for preventative measures I find it crucial to motivate others in becoming aware of caring for the body as a whole in regards to the food they choose to eat, avoiding substances that are toxic to our systems, the extension of life with daily exercise and taking advantage of the resources that are now readily …show more content…

With a growing number of people that need therapy it is now crucial to have an understanding of how one is able to work effectively under a time frame, while meeting as many needs that are required to be fulfilled. Similarly, I have a pre-booked schedule of clients with an array of varying needs. I am also constantly adapting to changes made throughout the day based on individual needs. It is important that I am mindful of what changes I am making and to whom that they there are towards. The related structure of client and patient management will optimize my accountability to effectively reach goals by priority of constitutes and play a detrimental role in the organization of my patients. The future of physical therapy and improvement in our society’s health care system depend on the efficient delivery of quality care. Quality care will ultimately lead to lower healthcare
