What was intended to be fun and humorous could have turned tragic in the case of the stolen wallet. Allen Woodmen, penend the story of an elderly man, who kept losing his wallet to pickpockets, and the elaborate scheme this father/son duo who seems to have a caring and loving relationship, came up with to catch this thief, was this a brilliant idea? Join me as I unfold and examine this courageous plot in catching a serial pickpocket. I would like to start off by examining the brilliantness of their plot to catch this thief, the father and son concocted a plan to make a phony wallet. Question, can you spot a phony wallet if not told it is? I certainly cannot. The idea of making the wallet so fat that it hangs out with desire to entice the thief was very clever. Moreover, the content in the wallet was fake. I can imagine the eyes of the thief if he had been successful in making his escape, that would be …show more content…
The ride to the mall could be liken to a sting out of the classic television show Hawaii Five-o, I can imagine the laughter they both share as they journey to unfold this elaborate plan. The narrator describes the father as an old man, trying to act feeble and childlike. He overdoes it like stage makeup on a community-theater actor. I would want to believe that the father must have felt a bit younger being that the narrator described him bending over farther than he had bent in years to retrieve stuff that had fallen from his hands and allowing the false billfold to rise in such a way that it caught the attention of the pickpocket. I must say in reading this story, I have paused several times to catch a laugh and a smile because I find it hilarious. However, as I look back on what the possibilities could be, was it a brilliant idea? Yes, brilliant in the sense of leading the pickpocket into taking the bait, but foolish non- the less. This plan lacks proper execution in the sense that someone innocent could have gotten hurt, or lost their

Jennifer Thompson-Cannino was raped at knife point in her apartment. She was able to escape and identify Ronald Cotton as her attacker. The detective conducting the lineup told Jennifer that she had done great, confirming to her that she had chosen the right suspect. Eleven years later, DNA evidence proved that the man Jennifer Identified, Ronald Cotton was innocent and wrongfully convicted. Instead, Bobby Poole was the real perpetrator. Sadly, there are many other cases of erroneous convictions. Picking cotton is a must read for anybody because it educates readers about shortcomings of eyewitness identification, the police investigative process and the court system.

As this crucial piece to the puzzle was added by Walter, the police informed more officers to be on the lookout for the perpetrators. Meanwhile, Mr. Ross had issued a reward for any clues on the case by using ads. The police however, did not approve of Mr. Ross’ ads. They believed that for Mr. Ross to agree to pay for any information for the mystery would condone even more behaviors of such. Even so, contact was established by the kidnappers soon after the ad was put out. The letter told Mr. Ross that his son will be safe as long as he pays a la...
To begin with, after sending a ransom note, the two men get a return message back from the father of the boy, stating that he will gladly take the boy from the men if they pay him 250 dollars. In his note, the father writes that if “you bring Johnny home and pay me two hundred and fifty dollars in cash, and I agree to take him off your hands. You had better come at night, for the neighbours believe he is lost, and I couldn’t be responsible for what they would do to anybody they saw bringing him back” (TRORC, pg. 14, par. 3). This is contrary to what the men originally want, as they are expecting payment, rather than having to pay the father of the boy. They were originally sure that they could get easy money out of the deal. They believe all of this based on the fact that the father, and not on the boy himself. In addition to getting a return message that dashes their hopes of getting easy money, the two men decide to return the boy and pay the 250 dollars, contrary to their original plan. After receiving the note, Sam, the other kidnapper, is angry at first, but his accomplice Bill says, “What’s two hundred and fifty dollars, after all? We’ve got the money. One more night of this kid will send me to a bed in Bedlam. Besides being a thorough gentleman, I think Mr. Dorset is a spendthrift for making us such a liberal offer. You ain’t going to let the chance go, are you?” (TRORC, pg. 15, par. 2). Sam eventually agrees with Bill, and they both return the boy and pay the 250 dollars. Their plan to make easy money has failed due to the fact they went on the original appearance of the boy and his father, and not the actual temperament of the boy. Along with returning the boy and paying 250 dollars, the two men make a very quick get away. Sam comments
First of all, the boy told Mrs. Jones that he tried to steal her purse for one reason, to buy blue suede shoes for himself. She then replies, “Well you didn’t have to snatch my pocketbook to get some blue suede shoes... You could have just asked me.” There are many faulty choices of judgments made in this comment, mainly because the outcome of the situation would almost never happen in the real world. The boy will now, after being told he should just ask for the shoes, believe that anything he ever wants will come to his possession if would just ask. To “trick” a child into being convinced that if you just ask a woman for money or anything that she will give it to you is morally wrong, and it is not fair for the boy to go through life having and accepting this state of mind.
Tricked Tricked is a documentary over modern day slavery, which entails 20.9 million people being victims of human trafficking. Tricked paints a portrait of the seediness, degradation, and dehumanizing world of sex trafficking. This documentary takes a viewer on an emotional ride into a darker side of humanity. Albeit the show only skims the surface, from the exploited victims, to the pimps who control them, the johns that supply the money, and the police force who are trying to abolish it, it is a harrowing reality check for most viewers.

The very first thing I noticed about the adolescent was his hat that sat on his head. There was a considerably large Nike symbol on the front of the pale green baseball cap. The coat that he wore was a vivid color of red and a bright yellow with blue trim. His very fluffy coat appeared to be well stuffed. After the brightly tri-colored coat was off, I noticed a hung colossal gold chain around his neck that swung to the left and the right. On his chain was a gold charm that was considerable large for a normal person. It appeared to me that the charm was an over-sized dollar bill symbol. The necklace and the charm made a clanging noise every time he moved. The over-sized purple fleece shirt that he was wearing looked very warm. The fleece had the word “Tommy” written extremely large in white bold print across the front of his purple colored fleece shirt and looked worn and tattered. The jeans that he ...
Honesty and integrity are very important in the medical field. We as healthcare workers are given such trust and responsibility. We should always strive to do our best and when faced with tough situations. When we don't always know what to do or the proper way to react we should always be honest. Let our superiors know what is going on and ask for advice when we need to. This would show that we are honest. When we come into contact with patients they rely on us to do the right thing and always perform our job with integrity. Often people’s lives are in our hands. We have to care about the patient and care about our job in order to continue to provide quality care. If someone hates their job they are not going to give their best in every way they can. The medical field is not a place for that person.
One morning, a well-known gentleman went into a bank in London, and was received immediately by Mr. Alexander Holder, head of the bank. He asked for a loan of fifty thousand Pounds. Mr. Holder asked him to present collateral to cover that large sum of money; the man showed him a crown that belongs to the country. Knowing the risk, Mr. Holder agreed to lend the gentleman that large sum of money if he pays it back in a few days. After the gentleman left Mr. Holder decided to keep the crown all the time near by him, so he took the crown to his home in Streatham. There he lived with his only son Arthur and his niece Mary who was an orphan. He told them about his story with the crown of diamonds. When the father was going to sleep, Arthur asked for two hundred pounds. He refused to give him thinking his son was spoiled by his rich friends who had nothing to do except watch horses. Before going to sleep, he went to check that all windows and doors were locked. He saw Mary at a side window at the hall. She closed it quickly, and Holder noticed that she looked anxious. After he went to sleep, he heard some noise that woke him up; he waited until he heard it again coming from his sitting room. He jumped out of his bed and saw his son holding the crown broken from the side and three diamonds were missing. In grief, he accused Arthur of being a thief and a liar. Meanwhile Mary came in and seeing the crown fainted. Arthur asked if he could leave for five minutes but Holder refused and called the police to take his only beloved son to jail. The police searched the house but could not find anything and advised Holder to get the help of Mr. Holmes the famous detective.
