In today’s world the school plays an increasingly important role in the lives of students. To some it is a place to learn; others--a place to socialize or perhaps where one can get away from the stresses of home for a period of time. To this writer, school is a bridge that spans from early childhood to adult life. It provides the means by which students are afforded the opportunity to acquire knowledge, form relationships and mature. As a future educator, it is my goal to provide a friendly, comfortable atmosphere in which these ideals can materialize. Students should not feel that school is a prison in which they must sit all day long, being bored and uninterested. As a teacher, I will strive to present a curriculum that invites students to participate and holds their interest in what is going on in the classroom. I believe that education is a mix between the two philosophical views, progressivism and essentialism, and the more psychological view, behaviorism. I feel that while the basic subjects need to be stressed in education, students also need to explore other areas of interest, in other words, be self-guided in areas they find stimulating. A teacher’s role is to encourage, motivate, and challenge students to pursue their interests and expand their horizon. I believe positive reinforcement should be used to encourage students and help them feel good about themselves and their accomplishments.
I tend to think that most people have a natural desire to please, do well, and better themselves for the future. Considering this, it is important that a student find their “niche” in the school setting. Whether it is art, music, writing for the school paper, or performing science experiments, ...

...ntors, and educators for students-- and these are important roles to fill. We have the ability, or should I say responsibility, to influence and guide the lives of students, so our job is an important one. Many people can look back through their education and think of one teacher who has made a difference in their life. This could be a teacher who showed special interest in what the student has done, or one who took the time to help a student who was struggling to pass a course. Maybe a teacher was remembered for simply having a good attitude, or being a terrific teacher. I hope that I will be that one teacher who stands out in the mind of my students in years to come. Teachers are special individuals who have a unique opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young people. It is for this reason I want to be counted among the educators of the future.
This article points out the flaws in our modern education systems. Students should enjoy school and feel as though they are learning important things in the subjects offered. The classes can be altered to tend to the interests of children, so they can properly express themselves. School should be preparing children to be mature, how to handle hard situations, and ultimately prepare them for their future lives. Overall, Gatto’s article has its flaws, but it can be used to help improve the education system for upcoming
The philosophy of Tae Kwon Do is to build a more peaceful world. To accomplish this goal Tae Kwon Do begins with the foundation, the individual. The Art strives to develop the character, personality, and positive moral and ethical traits in each practitioner. It is upon this "foundation" of individuals possessing positive attitudes and characteristics that the "end goal" may be achieved.
When a teacher stops caring a student stops caring because they believe the teacher does not care about them or their education. Rose said “you 're defined by your school as slow”(155). Importance is a big aspect of a student’s growing process, but id the teacher is bored, they won’t think they are important enough. Gatto said “as school personnel they are trapped inside structures, even more rigid than those imposed upon the children”(142). Students should always feel important and the more important they feel than the better and harder they will work in school. Students and teachers are both stuck, and in order to have a successful school system we must have happy teacher. To bring exciting lesson plans and less bored students, we need happy teachers, in order to have happy teachers the government needs to allow teachers to teach how they
Topics of interest that we did not discuss in detail are the gender roles and the xenophobia that exist in Voltaire's Candide. In Voltaire's "Candide", the female characters accentuate the exploitation of women in Voltaire's Europe. The same can be said of the role of Margaret in Goethe's "Faust" but the two characters differ drastically in their end...
There are a few different ways to diagnosis Rocky Mountain spotted fever. One way is through blood testing, but in some cases, a positive result does not always show in blood culturses unless the patient has a severe, late-stage infection of (RMSF). Laboratory tests can confirm the presence of antibodies to (RMSF), but these do not appear until between 7 and 10 days after the onset of symptoms. Biopsy of the rash may be performed but this test is accurate only 70 percent of the time. Typically when a doctor suspects Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, treatment will be given to the patient even without confirmation from the lab findings (Berry, 2017).
Susan W. Brenner’s Cybercrime: Criminal Threats from Cyberspace is scary, exciting, and informative all in one book. It takes you on rollercoaster from start to finish as your eyes are opened to the realities of cybercrime and cybercriminals’ capabilities as our technologies have progressed. Brenner’s book is an excellent piece for those that are not savvy about technology terminology and cybercrime.
The novel Candide is third person omniscient. Third person omniscient is identified with pronouns, such as him, him, her, and them, and allows the author to write how a character feels and thinks, and to switch from one viewpoint to another. This technique, allowed Vol...
Fighting cybercrime has no end to it and it well continue to grow every day because in the time we live in everything is done by a computer. The attacker are becoming more and more advance with technology in the 21st century and it’s impossible to control.
In the computer world, fraud and crime is a widespread issue that is facing all computer users. People being affected by this range from the average computer user to the big corporate companies that employs thousands of people. If these computers have no means of security, this amplifies their vulnerability to an attack from Phishing, Cyber Stalking, Computer Intrusion, and Identity theft. If the right steps are not taken, the threat to private information becoming public could reach an all time high. According to the Cornell University law school website, “Federal law defines computer fraud as the use of a computer to create a dishonest misrepresentation of fact as an attempt to induce another to do or refrain from doing something which causes loss.” (CORNELL) There are two types of computer crime, computer-related crimes and Internet crime. Internet crime involves the use of viruses, phishing, password theft, website vandalism, etc. Computer related crimes involve the use of hacking, una...
Cybercrime comes in many forms. The most common are personal or group crimes such as “hate crimes, telemarketing and internet frauds, identity theft, and credit card thefts” (Webopedia, 2013). Even more dangerous cybercrimes include “cyber-based terrorism and espionage”, which present national safety threats (Federal Bureau of Investigation, 2013). Cybercrime used to be a difficult act to commit, as hacking programs needed to be built from the base up, which required extensive knowledge in programming. However, cybercrime is easier to commit now than it was all those years ago, with the necessary tools being available to “anyone armed with a computer and a few dollars” (Ellyat, 2013). Troels Oerting, head of the European Cybercrime Centre, had this to say;
As we reminisce and reflect back either on our childhood or academic career, we tend to have that one teacher who was memorable to us in some way - for their sense of humor, their stellar personality, or perhaps having that charisma and charm no other teacher had to make a difficult subject and it 's concepts fun to learn. While knowledge is power, I firmly believe that it is rather the exchange and distribution of knowledge that is power. When one can educate the masses there is no doubt that together we can accomplish great things. Becoming a teacher would mean the opportunity to be able to witness the shaping and molding of the minds of the future generations and the satisfaction knowing that you have helped your students set themselves onto the right path and provide guidance towards the creation of a better tomorrow. Choosing to become a teacher will allow me not only to educate my students, but also educate myself to be a better teacher throughout my career. I believe it is a function of human nature to want to change the world for the better. In adulthood, I have learned that the improvement of the welfare of the world must begin with
With the number of people who possess a computer or mobile devices rapidly growing, the number of cybercrimes being committed on a daily basis is following close behind it. With all the different types of cybercrimes there is no doubt that this problem is becoming quite serious in the modern day world. Cybercrimes can affect anyone/anything such as the government, businesses, and even your very own self. If any device is connected to the network, it can potentially be affected by cybercrimes such as Hacking, Theft, Identity Theft, Cyber Stalking, Malicious Software, and Child Soliciting and Abuse. There are many cases starting to appear around the globe of cybercrimes taking place. “The likely annual cost of cybercrime and economic espionage to the world economy is at more than $445 billion — or almost 1 percent of global income.” , although the percentage doesn’t not seem massive, this is becoming one of the major threats to society and almost matches the percentage Drugs and Drug Trafficking have on the global income.
Along with the fast developments and various applications of the internet comes the improvement of people’s living standard. Undoubtedly the emerging new technology is playing such a significant role in fields like promoting interpersonal interactions, driving global collaborations and increasing the world’s productivity, that our society may not stay as functional as it is now without the existence of the internet. Nevertheless, the internet, due to its complicated form of communications and the lack of either moral or legal control, has also brought about an unprecedented form of deviances and crimes including hacking, online fraud, terrorism, and so forth (Jaishankar, 2011). Among all types of controversial cyber activities, considering the distinct nature of criminals and different motivations, some of them may not have huge negative social impact while others can result in massive loss for both individuals and society. On all accounts, it is indeed of great importance to study internet abuse so as to construct a safer community with higher stability for the existence and prosperity of human-beings.
As we can see cybercrimes are a real problem that need a real solution. It is certain cybercrimes are the crimes of today and of the future. We cannot permit that a few cybercriminals be responsible for millions of dollars in economic loses. Information stored in computers needs to be protected from cybercriminals. In general we can conclude that the government needs to gain control of the internet.
At the beginning of one’s journey of gaining more knowledge, most children don’t mind school, for it is a change of environment for them. The majority of elementary school adolescents even enjoy school to some degree. As time wears on, we usually, and sadly, begin to see a change of heart. Children become fatigued from school and therefore don’t take pleasure in going anymore. Maybe their teachers didn’t teach them in the way that they learn most efficiently, or maybe students just become bored with the whole “school scene” itself. Whatever the case, it is apparent that by the time they reach high school, their interest for learning alone has died out.
