Good Evening my name is Rafaela, I’m here to persuade you why you shouldn’t text and drive. (Video)There’s times we wish we could rewind time, but sadly we can’t. We all make the mistake of texting and driving without thinking on the consequences this could bring.
Texting and Driving is a big epidemic that hurts our nation day by day, I’m here to persuade you to don’t do it.
I. Automobile crashes as a result of texting while driving is an epidemic that has taken our nation by storm over the past decade.
A. People are constantly fixated on their phones, checking Twitter, Facebook, and text messages. The use of a cell phones while driving is extremely distracting and dangerous to the person behind the wheel, and everyone else on the road as well.
1. According to Text’nDrive, text messaging is illegal only for drivers under the age of 17, or with a learner’s permit.
B. Texting and driving is very important because you’re not only preventing yourself from getting in a wreck you’re also helping to keep others safe, while you practice driving safely.
C. According to Don’t Text & Drive, Individuals who text while driving are 23 percent more likely to be involved in a car crash than other drivers. A crash can typically happen 3 seconds after the driver gets distracted.
Now that you know how texting and driving is affecting our nation, let’s talk about different ways to prevent it from causing deaths.
II. As we know there are several laws about using our cell phones in school zones in Texas, the best way to put a stop to texting and driving would be to implement laws and also for the government to do a class about texting and driving.
