INTRODUCTION These days, because of North Korea’s nuclear weapon problem, many countries have enhanced their military forces. But, according to the U.S. census count, among three hundred million U.S. citizens, there are only about 1.4 million people, which is 0.5 % of U.S. population, who are on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces. As an individual who has to serve in the Korean Army, I believe that compulsory national service is good for society and individuals. First, it can decrease social ills and build better national security. Also, individuals

Mandatory national service can decrease the crime rate of young adults, providing abundant eligible human resources in industry. ii. According to the Centre for Economic Policy Research, young adults from 18 to 24 are responsible for 28 percent of total property crime arrests. With military service, troubled teens and street people who normally have nothing to do will enter the military and receive the training, discipline and experiences that provide them a stable and secure life.
b. It is necessary to protect and gather the country.
i. Nobody wants war but it can happen. Without any self-defense system, any country may be ruined by the other. Citizens also need to be prepared. The National Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that 63% of the US population is the eligible workforce. If these people were given a military or civic training, they could at least learn how to protect themselves and the country. ii. Military service also increases national spirit. People would serve the country and know the right things to do for their country. Through these positive effects, our neighborhoods become safer, and overall, society grows healthier. This is a win-win game for both the government and the

It covers various areas such as education, healthcare, vocational training, and etc. According to the U.S Department Veteran Affairs, government provides scholarship for military people who are attending school and everyone who is related to military personnel is provided good healthcare. All active military people can get free medical and dental care and it lasts for certain period of time even after they discharge from military service. ii. Also, soldiers get better and quicker services in public institutions. For example, there are many institutions where people would have to wait for their turn, such as DPS. But, if you were a soldier, wearing your suit, the clerk would serve you the first without waiting in line.
b. Individuals have the advantages of learning their duties as a citizen.
i. Being in the Military, you would be given various works and duties. And if you do not accomplish them, you would be admonished severely. But, doing so, you could learn about duties and responsibilities. As a citizen of a country, one would learn that they have a duty to give society back what they have received and from their nation. Then one can be more responsible, reliable and even practical in their life. This process would help people to build their character as well.
III. Lastly, my brother’s experience shows the advantages of compulsory military
...e unnecessary moneymakers, products of lies and deception behind the scenes, orchestrated by powerful and rich men who usually never suffer but, rather, gain from their machinations to create war. I support a National Service Obligation system that would draft all persons, at age 18, to serve for 18 months in some form of public service. This would allow American citizens to contribute to the country in different ways. But it should be one?s own decision how to contribute to the country. As said before, I believe that reinstating the military draft will not increase patriotism or a sense of duty, but will rather decrease the effectiveness of the military and will create huge protest feeling among country?s citizens. Therefore we should explore every possible way to contribute the country?s future instead of just putting our future and ourselves in the Meat Grinder.

It’s fall everyone and Halloween is coming.I would like to tell you that fall is the best season of all.
“The United States relinquished mandatory military service after the Vietnam War in 1973” (Kestnbaum, 18). Since then, the idea of reinstating a draft entered the public discourse on several occasions. Its proponents were particularly vocal in the aftermath of September 11, 2001 and the US military campaigns in Iraq and Afghanistan. “Although reintroducing conscription might provoke concerns of infringing on the rights and liberties guaranteed by the US constitution” (Cowen, 170), mandatory military service constitutes part of everyone’s civic obligation and would greatly help our country become better protected in the face of rapidly proliferating global threats.
My dad and I go hunting every weekend during deer season which is from mid of Novmber to the first of Janurary. We go sit at 6:00am and we leave at 8:00am,but why we sit we will be wacthing birds and squirrals playing in the place we have corn they will eat it like deer does.We half to sit still were the deer can’t see us in the deer stand. When we go hunting you have to climb up in the deer stand and then sit patiertly to wait for something to come out of the woods. We look three or four different way in the stand.”My dad stated,” theres a deer.We go hunting in Pearson Georgia. When we go hunting we have to be careful because the gun could go off.It could be dangous going hunting by yourself. But if anything happen I can help him.Because we
Topic: Addiction to social media General Purpose: To persuade Specific purpose: To persuade my audience that social media is hurting us mentally and our social lives. Thesis: Social media can cause serious problems to you and your health, so we need to put addiction to social media to rest. I. Introduction A. Attention-getter: The ages of 55 and 64 year olds who use social media fell “worried or uncomfortable” when they can’t access any type of social media accounts (Wright, 2015).
Ever since the fall, mankind has had a voracious desire for power and influence. People witness this desire within the walls of the Capitol Building when the media exposes backroom deals. It also springs up whenever a politician uses a podium to persuade people that he makes the world work. Politicians possibly rely on persuasion because they crave the power. However, persuasion is a manipulative, unBiblical tactic of forcing others to accept a point of view by all means necessary.
Dodging bullets and and praying to God that your foot does not step on a landmine. Missing the company of your family, not to mention having to miss birth of your first born child. Only to be on an unknown terrain, hoping that the next second will not be your last, only to produce a salary that rigidly pays to maintain your household. Today joining the military is not a trendy determination to compose and sensibly so. With the bloodshed in both Iraq and Afghanistan more military cadre are essential but an insufficient amount are joining. So why should you join? Today, in spite of the intimidation of going to combat, is the utmost cost-effective time for a person to comply to join the military. There to have at no time been as many benefits either as broad of perks granted.. Currently, there is the Montgomery GI Bill as everybody knows accessible for combatant men and women to attend college and acquire a college degree. There reside plentiful opportunities to take dominance of by joining into militant service. Of course there are a great deal of senses both for and against joining the army. Joining the military, however, is a verdict that demands to and has to be built to be realized to continue to reside in the United States.
Recently, there has been controversies regarding towards college standardized test scores where for example, high school students take the SAT for colleges and they decide to weight more on the person’s scoring on the SAT. Despite the junior and senior high school student’s hatred of taking the SAT, are the tests worth it? Though people in this room may have their judgements about my decision, but everybody view their opinions, view their experiences and view their perspectives differently. In ahead of time, I apologize to those who may think I will offend them. Don’t consider this as a debate, but do consider it as a freedom of speech by the first amendment.
As a whole, the United States continues to face military conflicts worldwide, especially with the more recent threats with ISIS. There are a few countries that still require young people serve up to two years of military service, such as Korea, Israel, and Chile. (“World Factbook”) Some people believe and have proposed that the United States adopt a similar policy of mandatory conscription. Gen. McChrystal states on an interview by Ron Fournier, “One of the ways we can rebuild that sense of ownership, sense of shared ownership, is through experience, and so I believe that every young person deserves—I don't think this is an onerous
Many proposals have been brought up to enforce a mandatory year of service in the military. All over the world, most nations have a mandatory year or years of service for their citizens. But the United States is one of those countries that does not follow this rule. Some believe that a mandatory year in the military would bring the people of this nation together; on the other hand, it is thought that being forced to be in the military would take a toll on the military itself by having soldiers serving who do not actually want to serve and as citizens of the United States of America we should have the right to choose our own path of life. Although there are a sustainable number of people who believe mandatory service should be enforced, there are a number of reasons why this would backfire
“Mandating national service violates the constitution and would infringe on the freedom to choose what to do with our lives.” (pro and cons, para 6). It is time consuming and you can’t do events you want due to being forced into the military. You will be forced to do something you don’t want to and could be doing another activity prior to joining the military. You won't have time to pursue various events, but instead need to serve.
Mandatory military service is a course to make a fit and capable citizen. First of all, military service can help one's character . More specifically it gives good tools so that people can work well in a team, be more organized in everyday event and good discipline. Secondly, it can offer education to people in need. Furthermore it will help people in bad neighbourhoods or is living trough a thought time and give those without the means to be in a home and have a job. Thirdly but not least mandatory military service could be looked at as a dept owed to one's country, loved ones who are protected if ever needed and most important to our right to democracy.
Most people have, at one point or another, considered what they were going to do with their lives. Whether a person would like to become an activist, an artisan or a business professional, the military has something for everyone. Finding a path in life is often filled with uncertainty and procrastination. The United States military is a path in itself, should one wish to retire from it; however, should a person wish to make their own path, there are benefits for that as well that can remove all doubt and curb procrastination. Due to these many benefits, I believe that it should be mandatory for all adults to enlist for a minimum of twenty-four months.
