March 31st at 6:10pm I as a detective receive a call from Captain Muldoon that Ernie Millers wife had fallen off the back porch and severely hurt herself. This happened at 554 Theresa Drive. I arrived There was no eye witness but the neighbor Mrs. Clever knows the wife Mrs. Miller very well. Mr. Miller’s alibi don’t really make since or adds up right, so imp going to take him into custody for second degree murder, which is a killing that is not planned or committed in a reasonable passion.
When I arrived at the scene, Captain Muldoon instantly told me that Mrs. Miller was dead. With information I immediately knew something was not right because I have never known of anyone passing away from a foot fall off a porch. The front door had no answer and I see the back door cracked so I make my way to the back yard to hear the door being unlocked. Mr. Miller appeared saying “sorry I had to lock the front door” with a band aid on his chin and a glove on his hand. At this point imp a

Miller just really fell, but then I started questioning. Mrs. Miller was lying on her back in the very tall grass that looks like it has not been cut in a couple weeks. There was beer cans scattered all over the porch (buckeye beer.) there is nothing around her that is unusual. My other thought was if Mrs. Miller fell of the porch, why is she on her back and not her front?
Mr. Miller’s alibi does not add up at all. Mr. Miller said at around four pomp he was raking the grass in the back yard, Mr. Miller said he always mows the back yard then the front then he rakes. Mr. Miller said he finished cutting and raking the grass at five pomp, set the rake down by the tree and went into the house to watch the OSU-Michigan basketball game. He heard his wife scream at exactly 5:35pm he new because he checked his Rolex watch. He seen her laying face down into the grass and he new she was dread right away so he called the
Convicted for the murders of his wife and two kids, thirty-four years ago, Dr. MacDonald still endures the agony of being accused of killing his family. Your honor, ladies and gentlemen of the jury, thank you for your attention today. [Slide #2] I would like to assert that separation is not the end of a relationship. Divorce is not the end of a relationship. Even an arrest is not the end of a relationship. Only death is the end of a relationship. In the case of defendant Donna Osborn, her insistence that ‘“one way or another I’ll be free,”’ as told in the testimony of her friend Jack Mathews and repeated in many others’, indicates that despite the lack of planning, the defendant had the full intent to kill her husband, Clinton Osborn.
Is there any idea worth more than a human life? In The Crucible by Arthur Miller, John Proctor decides that he has nothing left to live for, and therefore becomes a martyr. The question for him or one in his position would be whether or not there exist causes worth dying for and if his position is one such case. There is no principle worth more than a person’s life and therefore principles worth dying for, only principles worth living for.
The Crucible – Characters and Changes & nbsp; Change is good for the future. " We hear the catchy phrase everywhere. From company slogans to motivational speeches, our world seems to impose this idea that change is always a good thing. Assuming that the change is for the better, it is probably a true statement in most cases. The root of this idea seems to come from the notion that we are dissatisfied with the state that we are in, so, in order to create a more enjoyable environment, we adjust.

The Crucible – Forgiveness & nbsp; The Healing Power Of Forgiveness - The Gift of Reconciliation. The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong." --- Mahatma Gandhi & nbsp; Forgiveness is a process of inner healing. For most of the people in The Crucible, they did not need to necessarily forgive others but forgive themselves.
Great events, whether they are beneficial or tragic ones, bring change in a person. These scenarios can give one an entirely new perspective on life, and turn around his way of thinking. Events such as the Salem Witch Trials show the people involved what they could not see before. In Arthur Miller's The Crucible, Elizabeth Proctor, Reverend Hale, and John Proctor gain valuable insight into themselves, as well as others.
In the Crucible, we are introduced to the main protagonist John Proctor; the way that Arthur Miller presents him by rebelling against the authority in Salem. Out of the entire town he is the only person that speaks out, realising that the authority is unfair and unjust; he is not like everyone else in the town who keeps quiet to themselves. There are many situations where we the readers can see very clear examples of him rebelling against the authority that controlled Salem. One example of Proctor rebelling against authority in Salem was when he did not go to church on a Sabbath day and instead decided to pray in his own home ‘Mr Proctor, your house is not a church; your theology must tell you that’. That is one clear example of him rebelling
Charles was a greedy man. He was cold hearted and never philanthropic. This "Scrooge" was the CEO of a multi-million dollar stock company in New York City. Charles often told his employees that honesty is the key to success and that he would not tolerate liars. When approached by a potential client himself, he told the client that he would be sure to consult with him before making any major decisions. As soon he left the room, however, he transferred all of the man's stock to a different holder without asking the man's permission. As long as the outcome benefited him, dishonesty was acceptable. This man's hypocrisy parallels Arthur Miller's novel about the Salem witch trials. In The Crucible, the theme of hypocrisy plagues the pages and the three characters that exemplify this theme the most are Danforth, Paris, and Mary Warren.
The Crucible was written in the early 1950s as an exploration of events which took place in Massachusetts in 1692. What does the play have to offer an audience in 2014?
No, no, no, no, if the court discovers the truth in Proctor’s words; then my reputation will crumble like the dirt beneath my feet. Abigail’s falsehoods and fabrications, and my cover-ups will be uncovered; my name will blacken. My named, that I perjured myself uphold it’s white appearance and to keep myself protected from Proctor’s faction. But if Elizabeth verifies the truth about John and Abigail, I will be exposed! For knowing witchcraft never existed in Salem. For contempt of court and encouraging Abigail’s Fallacies; which proves she really is, as they the town says. They will know that I condoned the killing of innocence; they will know I went against the Ten Commandments. All to save my name, which could be darker, then a raven’s feathers. I will
The scene then goes to the oval where Rhiyu is about to have his PE class. “Now I have PE, I wonder what we’ll be doing”. The scene then goes to the centre of the oval where there is a golden sword just hovering on the ground. “Wait what is that? Hey can you see that?” Rhiyu asks a classmate nearby. “See what” asks Rhiyu’s classmate. “Don’t worry about, it’s just my imagination”. Rhiyu’s PE teacher then makes the class run laps and then he wanted to make sure if it really was his imagination, so he looked at the centre of the oval and the golden sword was tight there but this time it was glowing. Rhiyu then gets curious and goes towards the sword, he tries to touch the sword and when he does, it disappears into gold glitters of dust
To all the gentleman of the jury, I’m here to defend Martha, the person who were accused for some unreasonable that have no witnesses but the victim. Therefore, I want to proof to you guys that Martha is innocent, and she does not participate in any of witchcraft. All of the accusation to Martha can be divided in three categories: for afflicting people, kill people’s cattle, and participate in witch-meeting at Salem Village. First I will talk about afflicting people. Some people were saying that Martha afflicted people for dead, which doesn’t make any sense and that is not a good reason to accuse someone because you can’t afflict someone without touching them, or give them stuff that can cause ailment or disease. Also, they didn’t give any
The appellant was convicted of the murder of his wife by shooting her with a shotgun. His defence was that the gun had discharged accidentally while he was cleaning it. To rebut that defence, the prosecutor called for the evidence of a telephone operator, who stated that shortly before the time of the shooting, she had received a call from the address where the deceased lived with her husband. The witness said that the call was from a female, who in a sobbing voice and hysterical state said, “Get me the police, please!” and gave the address, but before she could make the connection to the police station, the caller hung up. 8 Res Gestae, Topic 3, law of evidence. Due to the apparent suicide of her husband, the miller’s wife decides to take her life as well, deciding to hide her actions under the “black water” (21). However, this scene can also be interpreted to be her thoughts as the inclusion of words such as “if” (17) and “may” (18) continue the theme of ambiguity in the poem. Similar to committing suicide in secrecy, coming back to reality from her thoughts would leave everything to “appear” (23) as if nothing ever happened. Thus, the profound obscurity of “The Mill” makes it nearly impossible for one to decide if it was real or an elaborate
