Recommended: Zoos and how they should be banned

Are zoos a safe place for animals? Do zoos have proper living conditions for animals? Are the animals in zoos healthy and happy? Critics say that the animals in zoos don’t have enough space to fly, walk, run, etc. causing the animals be unhealthy and have behavioral issues. Although in most cases sciencists and zoologists are trying to help and improve the animals health, animals should not be kept in zoos because its bad for their health, has a negative effect on their behavior, and the animals are put in bad living conditions. Zoos are overpopulated. Many zoos continue to breed the most popular animal, which commonly are babies. Therefore leaving the animals in an overpopulated habitat that causes the animals to be depressed and unhappy.

In some cases, zoo animals have died from natural disasters occurring in the area, such as fires and hurricanes. Because there is no way out from the cages that surround the animals they are trapped there and cannot escape. Marsupials and young animals are prone to diseases if exposed to infected birds and unsanitary environments at the zoo.
