Have you ever stopped to take notice of how expensive it’s become to go on an outing to the movie theaters? How the tallest people always tend to sit in front of the shortest movie guests? How even when you try to beat those odds, and rent the movie from the Redbox to watch at home. You still wind up having to wait about six months to see the movie everyone has been talking about. If you haven’t experienced these particular troubles than your considered one of the lucky ones. Honestly, why can’t we go back in time and only pay a nickel to watch our favorite movies on the big screen? While we’re at it, they could also bring back the drive in theaters too. Not only are the tickets outrageously expensive, but if you have kids then they will …show more content…
For example, I’m only five foot three so with that being said, I don’t want to pay to see a movie that I technically can’t see. I would be the woman in the back bobbing my head back and forth trying to see around the guy in front of me. Especially if I had to pay approximately thirty dollars. Which sounds like a waste of time and money if you ask me. Now, don’t forget all the noise makers. You know, the people that feel the need to talk throughout the entire movie. Or the ones that chew there popcorn and candy as if they grew up on a farm, and learned how to chew from the cows. Don’t forget the children that haven’t learned the patience to sit through a movie and want to run and scream up and down the aisles of the theater. No thank you, I would prefer to sit at home, with no lines in the bathroom, noisy people, and a little peace and …show more content…
It still beats having to go to the movies. For instance, it’s ten times cheaper in the long run. It’s only a dollar to rent movies from the Redbox and if you have a promotional code its free. Plus, if you go to Dollar tree where everything is a dollar. You will find movie theater popcorn, candy, and soda. For an up most total of four dollars. Compared to the theater you’ll be saving about twenty-four dollars. Also, you won’t have anyone sitting in front of you blocking your view, and nine times out of ten have already gotten used to the weird ways your friends or family chew their food. An added bonus to waiting for the movie to come out on DVD is if it was a bombshell of a movie than you didn’t have to pay to find out. In conclusion, unless your tall, rich, and can’t wait for a movie to come out on DVD than I believe your best bet is to watch a movie from the comfort of your own home. Even if you have to wait a little while it’s well worth it and won’t break the bank. Plus, if you have kids that won’t sit still they can entertain themselves with their own toys in their room or other designated areas of your
“When the Movies Moved to the Suburbs.” The New York Times. Janet Maslin, 29 Oct. 2011.
The jury was locked in the room to deliberate because they don't want them to leave until they have come to a decision. If the jury was allowed to leave, they might just go when they want and not return. Also, the accused could try to come in to convince the jury that he is innocent.

On Saturday July 29th, 2017, I was able to catch one of the funniest movies I’ve seen in a while, Girls Trip. I was able to view the movie with four of three of friends of mines at the Regal Moorestown Mall Stadium 12 & RPX, located in Moorestown, New Jersey. My experience started with the aromas of popcorn. I am one of those type who has to have popcorn with lots of butter while enjoying a movie. After I purchased my popcorn and bottled water I was ready to enjoy this night with my friends. However, I wasn’t the one who purchased the tickets so the seats choices where horrible. They were floor level, on the very far right and third row. Still trying to make the best out of it I reclined my see as far back as possible so my neck would bother me the during the movie. The theater was packed, mostly with women.
...verage, up-to-date selection, and convenient service. The movie rental market is not bad, but it will require a good market strategy. As Jay Abraham once said, "If you're attacking your market from multiple positions and your competition isn't, you have all the advantage and it will show up in your increased success and income.”
? Charging a monthly fee for unlimited rentals, Netflix eliminates due dates and late fees, as well as eliminating the long lines of a brick and mortar store.
Movies have been one of the most popular pastimes for Americans for decades. They are the topics of conversation, a place for lovers to go on dates, and an industry that the general public seems to have a fascination for. However although we think of movies as another entertainment source, they were not always as socially accepted by the people. In 1904, Harry Davis opened the first freestanding moving-picture theater. Although he was met with much skepticism, his idea would have a lasting effect on America's culture. When they first opened, the people were not immediately accepting. Safety, cleanliness, and price were a few of the concerns the public had. After a few changes however, the "nickelodeons", as they were called, started booming. Flashing lights were put up wherever there was room on the façade of the buildings. Ventilation systems assured people that they were br...
They go to it but not for it. I think so, because most of the times movie even doesn’t play the role. I mean, that if there is a line to a ticket office, or one movie is sold out, people usually easily change their minds on choose another movie, or don’t wait in the line, and just go somewhere else.
The first factor to consider is convenience. Netflix can be the simplest choice, because the average person does not have to leave the house. While there may be a few movie theaters in a town, they require a drive to get to them. Another aspect to consider is that movie theaters follow a set schedule, and the times cannot be altered. For example,
When we first got to the movie theater, it was around 4:20 in the afternoon. The movie didn’t start until 4:45 so we sat in the car for a few minutes. I noticed that were only a few other cars in the parking lot. When we walked up to the ticket booth there was a sign saying to buy our tickets at the concession stand so we proceeded to go inside. The lobby featured a game room to your right as you enter and a large concession stand. The tickets were at matinee price which is seven dollars. This is only two dollars cheaper than the regular price for admission. I decided not to buy any snacks due to being familiar with the cinema’s prices. One of my friends spent around twenty dollars on popcorn, a drink , and her ticket. There is a “manager special” at the theater that includes two large drinks...
It can be difficult to re-create the experience of going to the movie theater. However, home theaters and in-home entertainment has become more popular as online streaming has taken a precedence in the industry.
During the 1920s and 30s seventy-five percent of all Americans are said to have gone to movie theatres at least once a week. This is because this was the time of the great depression (1930s) where unemployment reached high levels and money was infrequent. Thereby forcing Americans to take on a positiv...
Each year the movie industry earns more and more money. It's not just that movies are gaining larger audiences, and more movies are being produced, but it's the fact that movie prices are rising. Ticket prices are at a peak, selling in some places for as much as $10.50 a pop. Not to mention when movies come out for sale, most VHS start at a record breaking $24.99, and most DVDs start st $39.99. Why are the movie bosses charging this much? Simply because they can. People would probably pay even more if they had to, and in my opinion they'll soon have to. American has adopted movies into their family, and they don't want to stop watching them.
What is also available to us due to digital television is films that have perhaps just finished in the cinema streamed into our own home without having to go down to the video shop or have to spend money in stores. There are channels which are specifically catered for different genres of films for example, if a person likes up and coming film makers and some iconic films Film4 is possibly the best place to look or if they have children and want to watch a traditional Disney movie obviously the Disney Channel is where you should look. But what happens if you want to watch a specific movie this weekend and it isn’t on any channels? Well you can now go online and do one of three things, search to see if your film is online and watch it there, order if off a shopping webpage like Amazon, or you can now rent your film off companies who send the DVD out to you in the post.
