Driving through cities, walking through parks, or longboarding across campus, trash is found everywhere. The beauty that God gave to nature is becoming destroyed by the pollution caused by humans. A simple act of recycling could radically make a difference. GCU has made attempts to promote recycling by providing recycling bins and an informative flyer in every food area. Fixing the problem of people not recycling will both improve the appearance of the grounds we walk on but also will improve the air used to breathe.
Everyone who goes outside is affected, just because people are hired to clean up trash around campus does not mean that it is only their problem. The people who put their bottles and cans into trash cans are just as bad as putting

We should recycle because by leaving trash in landfill sites leads to greenhouse gasses and harmful chemicals hurting both people and then environment. According to Anopchenko, T. Y., Murzin, A. D., Kandrashina, E. A., Kosyakova, I. V., and Surnina, (2016) living in an environment that is greatly polluted incredibly increases health risks. The article “Environmental Risk to Health of the Population. International Journal Of Environmental And Science Education” (2016) by them says “the polluted environment is one of the important factors defining changes of a state of health of the population” (para, 2.). This is a problem because the more waste in landfills or raw materials made into containers release toxic chemicals into the air that are severely affecting how people live. Being able to go inside from the pollution is one thing but animals are not in easy access to get out of polluted areas. Recycling can reduce …show more content…
Recycling would lead to saving energy and help preserve natural resources. In the article “Prognostication of energy use and environmental impacts for recycle system of municipal solid waste management” it says that recycled aluminum cans could possibly save 95% of the energy used to make it and that one ton of them could save 14,000 kilowatt hours. It goes on to explain that a ton of plastic that has been recycled saves up to 5,774 kilowatt hours. Recycling different materials all are able to not only save incredible amounts of energy but also large amounts of oil. Not to mention all the saved raw materials. Saving these things allows the use of them for longer periods of time. This is important because the earth running low on these will not be able to make them so it is best to be good stewards of the limited commodities there
Of course, the most important aspect of recycling in the university is awareness and with students who are currently seriously considering the way they manage their solid waste, the campaign and program becomes even more successful. To do this, the university has also joined the national FIU Recyclemania for two years now and had placed exceptionally well (FIU, 2011). It is very important in any environmental effort that the stakeholders are made aware of the benefits of the efforts so that the program earns propriety and becomes a culture instead of just an obligation.
We always hear "do not litter!" or "throw your litter in the bins", maybe some of you bored to hear that yet we still do not throw it in the correct place. Litter is a serious habit problem to just throw away objects on the ground or leave them lying on the ground, instead of putting them in the garbage can. In Indonesia, the amount of litter is 175.000 ton/day and this is increasing every day. But we don't have to see that far, just look around us, our campus, Sanata Dharma University is still facing the littering problems. Each day, although there are various spots of bins and it is never full yet there are many litters lying in the floor, you can see the student hall as the evidence that even though it has 10 spots of bins, we still find people throwing their litter everywhere.
I am not a big earth first person but I do believe in recycling because I work at a local recycling center and I think recycling is a good thing. In fact I think everyone should recycle to make the earth a better place as a whole. A few good reasons why recycling is a good this is, the more people recycle, the less room is filled in landfills. Also, when people recycle they are reusing materials, therefore saving resources. Another good reason is that when you recycle often times you get paid back the C.R.V. that you already paid for in the grocery store.
We should aim to stop littering from going to the next generations. If I walk around right now I could find loads of plastic and trash just lying around on the ground. Near trees, on the field, and even in the middle of the quad where everyone could see, but did nothing. As 7th graders, we should do more to prevent this.
Lots of recycled products are less expensive than brand new ones. Buying cans, bottles, paper, and some clothing items made from recycled goods are all potential ways to save you money. People can use their recycled items. People can use their recycled paper to make pencil which saves money. When people make paper it cost $25,000 dollars a month. If people use recycled paper, then it won't even cost about $100. The benefit in cost per can in terms of savings is so low that it's quite insignificant. On another level, the savings in terms of energy required in making a new can from scratch as compared to making it from an existing can is tremendous. The cost of aluminum would be high if people did not recycle it. Metals like copper, iron, and steel can also be recycled. Scrap bits of metal can be brought to a scrap dealer who will pay cash for the metal. Automobile manufacturers get good money for scrap metal too. Some people think that recycling is a great way to save
Many people believe that we should not recycle anymore, but this is not the case. We, the people of the world, need to continue to recycle because we do not want our children to grow up in a world where there are no certain species of animals due to recycling failures. We also do not want our children to grow up thinking that it is okay that they throw their garbage on the ground, and not have to pick it up. We need to teach our children that they need to take care of the earth that they are living on, because they only get one. Recycling is one of the most beneficial environmental issues that we have here on this earth. Recycling saves energy, limits pollution and supports several environmental factors of the economy. “In 2003, the savings from recycling 54 billion aluminum cans exceeded the energy equivalent of 15 million barrels of crude oil- or the amount of gas the U.S. uses in one day,” according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The EPA estimates that 200 million gallons of used oil are not disposed of properly, and if we were to dispose the oil properly then we could keep the oil from polluting the ground and the fresh water source. According to E. Takatori, “… While on-going societal regulation treats material recycling as the dominant cycle, the properties of recycled plastic remain the most port
According to Green Eco Services, 75% of Americans admit to littering within the past five years. To decrease the massive amount of littering occurring on our San Diego State University campus, we must inform students and faculty of the repercussions of littering, motivate our peers to end the vicious cycle, and assist when the issue of littering occurs. Littering is an ongoing issue on our San Diego campus. First we are going to talk about background information on littering, and the many negative effects it has on not only our campus, but also the environment. We will follow up with unsuccessful attempts San Diego State has used to try to minimize the amount of littering and then discuss multiple solutions that the University as well as everyone individually can take part in.
Littering is a growing problem that happens all around the world. This is an issue that affects our lives, animal's lives, and even the Earth's life. Many people have gotten so used to seeing trash in ditches and on the sides of roads that they don't even notice it anymore. A big part of the problem is laziness. Almost every day you can see someone throwing a piece of trash on the ground or out of their car window.
Most importantly, it saves lives. We should all learn the importance of recycling. For example, some sea lions won?t get stuck in plastics if we recycle. We would also breathe better air. We can recycle and aluminum can and put it back on the shelf for something useful. If we just leave it in the landfill, it?ll decompose and it?ll be of no use. It?ll also reduce pollution or else it?ll make a new one.
The benefits for recycling are the down going cost and/or the purest quality of bottles, cans, plastic, iron, water, paper, air, vegetables, meat, fruit, spoilage, alcohol, cigarettes, all kinds of minerals, your everyday life, your very own and family’s health, and so on. You would never expect some list like that without thinking about your environment deeply, right? Generally, recycling is an effective way for anyone to prevent pollution and the only way to give the Earth time to heal its self from these evil citizens who do not care about the poison they’ve been generating. This process saves energy, reduce toxic, water, and air pollution; as well as giving creatures that aren’t human a fair chance to live in this cruel planet that the world considers successful.
This process saves energy, and conserves resources by reducing the amount of renewable resources that would normally end up in a landfill or in an incinerator. These recycling plants “increase jobs in manufacturing while simultaneously increasing the Unite State’s competitiveness in industry. ”(Recycling | Reduce, Reuse, Recycle | US EPA.) There are also several long term benefits of recycling. For example, “collecting and processing secondary materials, manufacturing recy... ...
On the other hand, some people feel that recycling should not be mandatory. Some people feel as if recycling is not always cost effective. Sometimes, there may be a need for new factories to process reusable materials. This could even create more pollution because of the cleaning, storage and transportation that takes place. Also, some people feel that recycled products may not last for long. Recycled materials are not always a reliable quality. The materials are mostly made up of trashed waste, which is why the products are cheap and last for a shorter period of time. Another reason why some people think it is not necessary to recycle is because there are unsafe and unhygienic recycling sites. Places like landfills, where all sorts of waste is dumped contribute to the spread of different diseases and other dangers caused by harmful chemicals and waste. People also think that r...
Recycling means to take out harmful and valuable commodities to be further used. It can help to save the environment and natural habitat. For example, if we could reuse papers this material that originally took from the natural world so that lesser resources are required to produce new products. Reach shows 10 litres of water is needed to make one piece of A4 paper; we can save around 26,500 litres of water and 17 trees if we recycled 1-ton paper. From the economic aspect, the most important benefit of recycling is that it can save energy. By using recycled materials, manufacturers can cut down the energy consumption of producing new products from raw material. Therefore, the contribution of low price products can be provided to consumers. We certainly can create a win-win situation on both environmental protection and economic
People should know the negative impact throwing away a water bottle or newspaper, purchasing meat from the grocery store or consuming gasoline has on the environment, and many do not. By informing society about how their decisions affect the environment, we can help save our planet and change our attitude toward the land we live on, the water we drink and the air we breathe” and truly show respect for the stuff that we depend on. The United States produces “about 8.25 billion tons of solid waste each year” (Russell 1). People do not realize the impact they have on our planet and the environment. When people throw anything in the trashcan, they are contributing to the destruction of our planet.
Recycling is of great importance, and its importance is economic and environmental. It preserves natural resources, reduces depletion, reduces the amount of waste, reduces its growth, conserves the environment, cleanses it of some harmful waste, reduces unemployment and creates opportunities. New work.
