Same- sex marriage has done nothing but turn the human race into a joke. Reproduction is the key to maintaining a society and continuing the human race. The future of humans will be at risk if homosexuality continues to be accepted and existent. Not only would the population suffer from same-sex couples, but the children of same-sex couples would suffer. Both boys and girls need a mother and a father, and without both there will be severe consequences that the innocent children involved will have to endure. Same-sex marriage is an unnatural practice that has begun to damage society.
Homosexual marriage must be put to an end because it is an abomination that has no positive result. Marriage originally was created to join a couple together in
Nature is behind reproduction. “ Homosexual marriage is on the wrong side of nature. Homosexual relations are unnatural. This is confirmed by biology, physiology and religion” (King 1). Without a man and a woman, reproduction does not exist; therefore the continuation of society’s acceptance of homosexuality could end the human race if it continues to grow. There is no way for the human race to continue if homosexuality continues. Marriage has been between a man and a woman since its conception. “When God made man and woman He had something very specific in mind. It goes without saying that He did not want men marrying men , or women marrying women” (Saunders 238). Reproduction requires both man and a woman and without reproduction, the population has no way to grow. Homosexuals do not reproduce, they recruit. Even though it has become popular recently to explain that homosexuality has physical or biological causes, this is wrong. Homosexuals are not born, they are created. Homosexual behavior is the result of choice, not genetic chance. The behavior of a homosexual is a learned behavior (King 1-3). Homosexuality is a choice that may be intentionally made as a source of attention or it may be a subconscious
The “Family Research Council” has done extensive work to determine how children are affected by same-sex marriage. “If same-sex civil marriage becomes common, most same-sex couples with children would be lesbian couples. This would mean that we would have yet more children being raised apart from fathers. Among other things, we know that fathers excel in reducing antisocial behavior and delinquency in boys and sexual activity in girls” (1). Without a father in their life, boys will be more likely to continue a line of homosexuals in the family. Social skills will be lacking, and a boy will be surrounded by sole feminine influence. They are also more likely to act out and be more of a disruption in school. Without a father, a boy will suffer the consequences of an overly feminine family surrounding. Girls without a father, also act out. They will be more sexually active at a younger age because of the missing fatherly influence. Without attention from a father, girls will seek attention from another male source which results in early sexual activity. These girls pay the price of being without a father. When two gay males raise a child, the child is missing a motherly influence. As stated by the Family Research Council, a child raised without a mother misses out on the unique motherly relationship
If it were proven that homosexuality is biologically based, discrimination against homosexuals would decrease. If homosexuality was proven to be a genetic characteristic, just like hair color, height, or eye color then people might be less "afraid" and more accepting to homosexuals. Gender-based discrimination is the perception that an individual's gender appearance, identity, or behavior is inappropriate based on their biological sex. Gender-based discrimination operates in the same way as sexual orientation discrimination, it is based on the expectation that people will conform to social norms, commonly associated with their biological sex, and it is often mistaken for sex discrimi...
In today’s society, family structure has changed dramatically from the traditional nuclear family to the unconventional, such as single parenting or same sex families. Over the years, many individuals questioned whether or not a parent’s sexual orientation affected their child’s sexual preference. There is significant research that has shown that children with lesbian parents do not differ from children with heterosexual parents. Many individuals stated that it is the value of the parent’s relationship with the child and not the parent’s sexual orientation that affects the child’s development. Contrary to the popular belief, children raised by lesbian parents are not more likely to become gay than children who are raised by heterosexual parents. A parent’s sexual orientation has said to have little importance to children other than the family togetherness. In other words, the relationship of the parent and child is far greater important than the sexual orientation of one’s parents. To be a good parent to a child has nothing to do with one’s sexual preference, but how well one takes care of that child emotionally, physically, financially, and mentally. Before the 20th, century children were often seen as miniature versions of adults so there was little consideration to children development in cognitive and physical development. The interest of child development did not peak until the early 20th century. Conscientious parenting happens not only within traditional nuclear families, but also within homosexual families. Both traditional nuclear and homosexual families can have positive and negative effects on children’s cognitive, psychological or behavioral development due to their rearing.
In recent years, same-sex relationships have become more encompassing in US society. State legislation is changing such as accepting gay marriages, enforcing anti-discrimination laws, and legal gay adoptions; the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community is becoming public. Gay-headed families, like heterosexuals, are diverse and varying in different forms. Whether a created family is from previous heterosexual relationships, artificial insemination, or adoption, it deserves the same legal rights heterosexual families enjoy. Full adoption rights needs to be legalized in all states to provide a stable family life for children because sexual orientation does not determine parenting skills, children placed with homosexual parents have better well-being than those in foster care, and there are thousands of children waiting for good homes.
The biggest problem in gay rights is the fact that people are afraid of what could happen if they receive these rights. Some people believe it could affect the marriage, or potential children in the family in a negative way by creating new fads and images of what a family is. This however is completely untrue. Research shows in the united states, around 1% of currently married same sex couples get divorced yearly. On average 2% of married straight couples in the United States divorce yearly. This shows that same-sex couple more unlikely to divorce than straight couples. On top of this, there are a much greater number of straight couples, than same sex couples, however due to the rate of change in marriage laws the
Legalizing gay marriage has been a controversial topic in the past few years. In my opinion, gay people should be allowed to get married because it is a civil right. It shouldn 't matter what gender they prefer because they 're still regular people. Making gay marriage illegal, is the same as taking away someone 's freedom and civil rights. That is unethical and completely awful. There 's no harm being done by letting two people who are in love with each other get married. However, many religious fundamentalists are against this and believe gay marriage is wrong and needs to be stopped. Homosexual couples should have the right to get married because it 's a civil right and their sexual preference doesn 't make them any less human.
Since the 1970s, studies on the effect of same-sex parenting on children have been conducted in the United States. Sociological debates have occurred from the idea of allowing same-sex couples to parent. Some groups feel that allowing this would undermine the traditional ideology of marriage and skew the perception of gender roles for their children. Sociologists continue to produce empirical research that studies samples of the approximately 125,000 same-sex couples raising nearly 220,000 children and comparing their roles as parents and the adult personalities of their children to children raised by heterosexual couples. Current scientific research comparing the outcomes of children raised by gay or lesbian parents with children of heterosexual parents consistently shows that same-sex parents are just as capable of raising “psychologically healthy and well-adjusted” children as heterosexual parents. Research comparing children raised by same-sex couples and heterosexual couples found no differences in the adjustment or mental health of these children as adults.
There indicators of child developmental outcomes were categorized into parent and child relationship quality, children’s cognitive development, children’s gender role behavior, children’s gender identity, children’s sexual preference, and children’s social and emotional development. There analysis showed that children with same-sex parents fared equally to children raised by heterosexual parents when comparing developmental outcomes. Same-sex parents also reported a significantly better relationship with their children than heterosexual parents, which was measured by the parent or child perception of the quality of their relationship. This goes back to the argument that parent sexuality has no impact on the child but rather the relationship between the parent and the child has is the most impactful. In Crowl, Ahn and Baker (2008) meta-analysis study also found that the parent sexual orientation had no effect on gender identity, cognitive development, psychological adjustment, and sexual
Firstly I will discuss the reasons for marriage equality. I argue marriage equality is in the best interest for family life. Allowing homosexuals to form stable committed relationships through marriage would allow for healthier homosexual relationships. You can’t prevent people from being homosexual however giving those people the right to marry can help them experience greater personal happiness. Studies have suggested that not only does legalizing marriage in an area generally make homosexual individuals in that area happier; it also makes them physically and mentally healthier and saves them money on health care (Hatzenbuehler, O’Cleirigh, Grasso, Mayer, Safren, & Bradford, 20012). I don’t see any compelling reason to take away the joy homosexuals get from marriage, this is one of the many reasons I support marriage equality.
“It is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same-sex couples should be able to get married” (Procon.org), said Barack Obama the 44th and current president of the United States. The gay right movement started in 1969, riots, struggles, and problems followed after. In today’s society, it has been showed that people are opening up to gay rights. There has been effort in protecting the gays and discrimination against gays is now considered a hate crime and is illegal. However, gay rights still to this day struggle with state and federal legal circumstances. Same- sex marriage needs to be legal, couples who choose to be of the same-sex should be allowed to celebrate their commitment with each other the way heterosexual couples get to, both publicly and society acceptable.
Gay and lesbian unions have been for a long time a subject that no one liked to discuss. For the last few decades, gays and lesbians have come out and expressed their sexuality preferences. Many believe that same sex marriage should not be legalized because it's against the moral. It's against the definition of marriage, which is considered as the union of a man and a woman as a husband and wife. Same sex marriage should be legalized because the way society views the union of lesbian and gays can a change. Another reason why same sex marriage should be legalized is that children that are issued from a gay or lesbian couple will be loved and raised in a family that is legally recognized under the law. Lesbians and gays also deserve to have the same rights as heterosexuals.
... made groups of people have a very hostile attitude toward the subject matter. The traditional view of marriage is also important because it influences future generations and teaches children the meaning of the special union of a man and a woman. Many people also argue that when raising a child he or she should be raised by a father and a mother. Not both of the same sex. Although the debate of same-sex marriage may not affect some people, this is a hot topic that has changed the opinion of many people around the world. The topic of same-sex marriage is a subject that needs to be discusses by individuals who are certain of what they stand for and are capable of providing others with true and convincing arguments.
Katherine: “Girls who are raised apart from their fathers are reportedly at a higher risk for early sexual activity and teenage pregnancy. Children without a mother are deprived of the emotional security and unique advice that mothers provide.”
Homosexuals believe that no sin is greater than the other and that people against same sex marriage are sinning for judging them. The bible states “Judge not, lest ye be judged.” Only God can judge and he has the last say. God loves everyone equally the same and they feel like if God can still love them, why cannot we. Therefore, homosexuals who want to be married just want the same rights and treatments as heterosexuals.
We are all humans who bleed red. No one should have to limit their happiness because some person does not approve. Gay marriage should be a universal right. In the United States, Gay marriage was legalized on June 26, 2015. This is a large step for us as a country. We are one step closer to equality. We do not want people to feel oppressed or uncared for. Marriage is a bond between the two-people getting married. Everyone deserves to marry the person they love regardless of gender. Same sex marriage will increase revenue, give children homes with gay couples who are willing to invest in them. It is a universal right to be treated fairly and equally. We cannot belittle someone because they are different or do not hold the same beliefs as you.
In recent years, same-sex marriage has become a more controversial topic on whether it’s right or wrong. People should not feel coerced to agree with something they believe is wrong; clearly, same-sex marriage is immoral and unnatural. Many complications come with same-sex marriages including financial pressures, social pressures, moral pressures, and health risks.
