Many people believe that adults should have to take multiple exams to raise a child, and I for one agree. This could allow the child to grow up in a safer environment, and make our community a safer place. Raising a child may be one of the most difficult tasks, and this license could help you prepare for the challenge. The tests could and will teach you how to raise a child properly, and what is best for the child. adults should have to earn their license because of child abuse, safety, and the mentality of the child to become a parent.
The number one reason for parents to get a license for parenting is child abuse. In Canada about one-third of Canadians have experienced child abuse . Child abuse could be mental, physical, emotional, or any other type of abuse. The parenting license could cut down the rate for child abuse. Parents abuse their children because either they weren’t prepared to have children, and don’t want them, or they have a psychological problem.

Statistics show that one child dies every 4 seconds because of conditions like, poor sanitation, unsafe households, and non-proper training of safety techniques. The safety techniques required could consist of skills such C.P.R, the Heimlich maneuver, first aid, and any other skills a parent would use if their child were in danger. The classes that would be required in order to get the license could show parents how to use some techniques on children safely., and also how to make a safe environment for babies in their house. With the parents learning about safety, the unnecessary death rate is guaranteed to
In the essay, “Licensing Parents” the author Hugh Lafollette argues that a licensing system would protect children and society overall. For Lafollette, a licensing system would train parents to obtain a basic level of expertise and would separate those who stand a serious risk to children. His argument for parental licensing is based on an effortless set of parallels. The most obvious example that he gives is the licensing system that governs the driving of cars. He says if you want to drive a car, you must earn a driving license which involves passing a test of comprehension and skills that establishes a “minimum” level of competence.
Some parents in the world do not discipline their children and do not care what the children. All they care about are them selves. At that point the social workers take the child and put them in foster homes with complete and total strangers. Some companies just put kids with people who do not care about the children just what they get paid. They just let the children go off and do what they want and do not supervise the children’s activities. The social workers should do more thoroughly background checks. There should also be more supervision in foster homes instead of little supervision, and the workers should visit the home and the children more often than they actually do.

Nurturing Parenting Programs (NPP) aims to target a specific population of parents. These parents are at a higher risk of maltreatment or physical abuse to their children. Poor interactional skills, abusive and/or neglectful care as children themselves, and conduct disorders, oppositional and attention-deficit disorders have all been noted to be significantly increased among this population”(Palusci, 2008, p.81). Joan McCord (1983) found that children who were harmed were more than likely to develop a mental disorder, become a juvenile delinquent, develop some form of substance abuse, or ultimately continue on the cycle of abuse to their children. Although some would not consider the
Many individuals are taking the process of process of parental licensing into their own hands, despite their contributions being made up in mind only, however, it is thought that counts. One respective person believes that a restriction on having children should begin at the earliest stage of one’s life: birth. As soon as a child is born, doctors should “go in and turn off their spickets” (McRedmond). In the later stages of life, this would prevent several cases of teen pregnancies, seeing as though it would be an impossibility for women to get pregnant. Then, when a women eventually becomes ready enough to think about having children, they should go through a testing process, perhaps similar to Sherman’s ideas of interviews, writing, and demonstrations of capability. If they pass, they “get their spickets turned
Single moms are the most affected and providing childcare on campus is very beneficial to them. More than 4 million women attend two-year public institutions or community colleges, and more than 1 million of them are mothers. Many student mothers struggle to stay enrolled all the way through graduation. Most of them are more likely to drop out of school, and the reason is because most often there is no affordable or available childcare and the students have limited financial resources. The average daycare center cost for an infant is higher than a year’s tuition and fees at a public college. It makes affordable on-campus child care a necessary provision for students. Childcare on campus helps to contribute to the learning
Everyone knows about foster care but do not realize the impact it has on humans ' lives. “More than 400,000 children are placed in foster care annually, with more than 200,000 moving in and out of foster homes in giving year” (Brozak, 1). Foster care changes and benefits people live, from the child to the parent. By foster care you save more lives than just the foster child. Although, foster parenting come with barrage of challenges. It provides many advantages for the people in need. Having foster children in your home is a blessing to the child, foster parents, and birth parents.
Ladies and gentlemen, good morning. Adoption recently has caused a hot-spot debate in Australia . Mr Rudd just argued that we should maintain the policy but I don’t agree with him. I am sure many of you are not satisfied with the current situation because we all clear this is not a great one. Adoption is so important because it is a way to change children’s lives. This debate is not about me and Mr Rudd; it’s about you and these children so you should make the best choice. For too long this policy has been disadvantaged to the children who are adopted or going to be adopted and those foster families. It’s the time to change. Relaxing the regulation of adoption within Australia and from overseas will be one of the liberal party’s aiming next term if I get your support. And let me tell you why choosing to relax adoption’s regulation is stepping up in the right direction to change.
For years there have been an excessive number of children in and out of the foster system. Quite a few children have succeeded; however, other children have not. A few children have looked to drugs, alcohol and violence to cope with what they have gone through and/or what they are currently going through. A number of those children ended up in a juvenile detention center or prison for breaking the law. Foster parents are desperately needed to help these children succeed in life and make it through this terrible time.
Foster Children who are emancipated out of foster care are in danger of becoming homeless because Foster Homes are allowing many unfit parents to adopt, they are emancipated before they can find a job that can support them, and they are not being taught the skills to avoid homelessness.
Raised by my two parents with my mother being the sole caregiver and disciplinary parent. I had a completely different outlook on how I would raise my children when I became a parent. After having my own child, I found out very early on that raising children doesn’t always go as you once planned it would. I often catch myself doing the very same things that my mother once did when raising her children. For instance, I always thought I would never let my child eat junk food or canned foods like we did, but I often let my son eat the very same thing my siblings and I did growing up. I also remember repeating more than once that I would never lose my patience with my children. Although I wish I wouldn’t do that, it is almost impossible not to
In the 1990's teens would get full licensing and all privileges with little of no testing at all. It wasn’t until 1995 when around twenty states required a learning permit but the system was still very weak, as in teens only had to keep their permit from two to three weeks. Bu somehow, teen drivers was not as dangerous as it is today. Experts say it is mostly because of deadly distractions in and out of the vehicle(Boulard 38).
An anonymous speaker once said, “Children are great imitators. So give them something great to imitate.” Although many people have never done it, babysitting is considered a difficult task by many. Individuals who feel babysitting is simple generally do not consider the fact that the babysitter must often take on multiple roles. Babysitters must: watch the child or children without ever becoming overly frustrated, get to know the those being watched because not every kid is the same, or they may even become the driver or the cook for the night. Babysitting is different for every child and babysitter, and different families have different rules.
Poverty is “the state of one who lacks a usual or socially acceptable amount of money or material possessions” (Merriam-Webster dictionary, 2015); in other words, struggling to provide a comfortable living style. It is the cause of family stress and many other problems, especially for the children. Millions of people around the world are struggling with poverty; families suffering to provide enough food seem to be growing in numbers. According to the United States Census Bureau, the poverty rate was highest in the 1960s and decreased greatly in the 1970s. However, it is now slowly starting to increase again. Recently released census data by the Bureau showed that one in five people are living in poverty (Census Bureau, 2014). Poverty is even
Young drivers in the other hand are not yet fully developed and so are their decision making skills, which is the key thing all drivers need while driving. We now live in a generation where teenagers are now crazy and out of control, 16 and 17 year olds consume alcohol illegally. And overall young drivers have higher accident rate. However many argue that it is unfair or 16 and 17
