In democratic countries citizens get the right of voting. It’s necessary, because citizens need to choose the people who are the best for their country and best for themselves. In the United States, people get the right of voting when they are at the age of eighteen. The age of eighteen accepted as an entry of adulthood, and the government thinks that it’s the best age to vote, because they are officially adults. However, there is a discussion about the voting age.They say that the voting age should be lowered to the age of 16 like Scotland. Some people are not agreed about it, however, I think that it should be lowered. People who agree with this and I think that sixteen year-olds are citizens too, and they do the exact same thing as other young adults that government expects them to do. The other reason is their age is unique and have different ideas.
There are reasonable reasons it should be lowered. First of all, every person in the USA is a citizen, they do the exact same things like other people, for example, paying taxes, working etc. About taxes, Teens pay an estimated $9.7 billion dollars in sales taxes alone. (AgeYouthRights) Also an average 16 or 17 year-old person works and studies at the same time in the USA. Basically, they are no different than adults in that way. People age and their minds, and the way of thinking change constantly.16 year old people are 16 year old.Their thoughts and ideas are 16 years old. They are living and experiences, however they will never have those experiences again.
