However, although I haven’t had as much experience as guys who have been going out since they were kids, I have learned a lot during my time out in the field. I usually hunt with a bow and arrow, but I know that having the right knife by my side makes hunting so much easier, especially if you clean and dress your kill where it lays. When trying to find the perfect knife, I came across the Diskin 1085, and I was instantly hooked. I love the weight, balance, and durability of this blade, and I use it all the time. The angling of the blade helped to kill faster. It would not become dull as quickly and it would slice straight through without having to chop. The blade was made from steel and weighed about 40 kgs. To work the blade it was pulled to the top of the contraption then released with the cord to give it a quick reaction. With the quickness of the blade it was estimated that it took about .75th of a second to be guillotined.
In 1893, Queen Lili’uokalani of Hawaii gave up her throne to the United States of America. About five years after in 1898, Hawaii was officially annexed and became a part of the U.S.A. During this time, the Hawaiian people were bitter and mournful as they watched the foreigners slowly take over their kingdom. Many foreigners came to Hawaii to achieve one goal, to increase the power of foreigners and decrease the power of Native Hawaiians. The kingdom of Hawaii was overthrown with the use of force and was unethically taken. Although Hawaii received benefits that were mainly in their economy, it still does not make up for the wrongful taking of the Hawaiian kingdom.

For example, according to Dara lind “Officer’s aren’t supposed to shoot to kill. They’re supposed to do whatever is necessary to disable the threat”(Lind). Whenever an officer gets caught up in a difficult situation where deadly force is needed for the most part officers do shoot to kill because they feel like there life is in danger themselves. Yes like they said they are supposed to do whatever is necessary so therefore if shooting to kill someone is necessary to them then for police officers it is the right thing to do. But in reality in some occasions deadly force by a cop resulting in someone’s death is not needed and there should be other alternatives to handle difficult problems like that. In addition, “Usually, the point from where the officer believes he has to use deadly force to the point where he uses deadly force -- where he pulls
Everybody in America knows that guns can be a major problem. Especially when these tools are being used on other people. You must be very cautious when you own a gun, cautious as a mouse trying to steal cheese of a trap. Saddly, a lot of people think that guns shouldn’t be used as much as they are now. A handful of people say that if they screw up with using a firearm they should be placed in jail with a box of crayons and paper to draw on. That’s it. Now different cultures have different point of views of this topic. Although, to have a gun is a right that most people will fight to keep, so most people will lose that debate. Unless they have there own Saturday night special than you will probably lose. Plentiful of people also have an opinion on that they don’t think that the gun is the problem it’s the person.
Bart Palosz’s parents were on their way home one evening to the joy of their son, but instead, what they found was a tragic scene. Entering his sophomore year, on the first day of school, Bart was immediately targeted for a seemingly harmless joke organized by the other students; but little do they know it would be the last time they would see Bart Palosz. Bart has been a victim of bullying for over two years due to his body releasing hormones faster than the average teen at the age of 15 making him 6 feet and 3 inches tall. That evening, right after school, his heart and mind were so clouded by the pain of humiliation, Bart decided to end his life. Bart was aware of the shotgun in his parent’s room and he knew how to acquire it. With his parent’s

One of the most repetitive and controversial topics discussed in the criminal justice system, is the death penalty. Capital punishment has been a part of our nation’s history since the creation of our constitution. In fact, as of January 1st, 2016, 2,943 inmates were awaiting their fate on death row (Death Penalty Information Center). Throughout my life, I have always been a strong advocate for the death penalty. During the majority of my undergraduate degree, I was a fierce supporter of capital punishment when discussing the topic in classes. However, throughout many criminal justice courses, I found myself in the minority, regarding the abolishment of the death penalty. While debating this topic, I would always find myself sympathetic to the victims and their families, as one should be, wanting those who were responsible for heinous crimes to
Early Thursday morning, on October 22, 2015 about 8:17 a.m. Savannah Chatham Metropolitan Police Department responded to reports of a front door open in the 800 block of Lynah Street. While police officers was checking the residence they found Kiana Marshall (21), Alexis Kitchens (19), and Isaiah Martin (18), deceased, with gunshot wounds inside the home. Many neighbors said that they heard gunshots around 12:30 a.m. or 1 a.m. but was uncertain on where exactly the gunshots came from. Gun violence in the United States is a major issue, especially for the African American community. Americans should always care about gun violence in the United States and not wait until someone we know gets shot and killed. As Americans we think we shouldn’t
Additionally, more laws and policies such as the Brady Law need to be either updated or increased especially given their effectiveness. Politicians need to stop being influenced by big money and actually take these matters seriously. Politics are suppose to help people not harm them and you are suppose to be a politician so you better society not yourself. If we had less selious politicians than more would get done and greater stronger laws would be enacted and the brady law would not stand on its own. According to a study by the Center to Prevent Handgun Violence the percentage of recovered crime guns that were traced to dealers in for in the four Brady states was greater for guns purchased before the Act took effect when compared to guns
A seemingly normal school day in Newtown, Connecticut, who knew that it would turn into one of the most devastating days of they would ever experience. About 2 years ago, students at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut were involved in the most devastating event of the year. According to an article by the Huffington Post, a mentally troubled man in his twenties named Adam Lanza shot 20 children and six staff members, with his mother’s weapons. His mother had apparently grown up with guns and thought it would be good to have in their house. Prior to driving to the school, he even shot his mother, but his motive is unknown. He drove to the school leaving a 12-gauge shotgun in the car, walking towards the school, he shot through the front entrance. “Lanza moved toward two classrooms of kindergartners and first-graders,” police said. Within five minutes he managed to kill 20 students ages 6 and 7 and six adults. He had fired more than 150 shots from a .223-caliber Bushmaster rifle. When police started to arrive he shot himself in the head, taking his own life. This incident was the deadliest mass shooting at a grade school in the US; in total 26 lives were lost.
Every year in the United States, an average more than 100,000 people are shot. In just the last three years, a total of 325,609 people have been killed from gun violence; if one were to think about it, that’s more fatalities than the population of Pittsburgh (307,484.) There have been shootings in schools/universities, shopping centers, and even a gym that have gone to show that no one is safe, no matter their surroundings. Gun violence just doesn’t effect one, it affects many. There are so many questions as to why things like this are happening, but many just want all of the violence to refrain. There are many issues with gun violence that has taken a huge toll on families and communities throughout the United States. Just in this year alone,
parading around town, guns in hand and the victim in sight the first kill of the game is about to play out. It is my position that Role playing games with simulated violence are perilous for kids because it puts them in treacherous positions. Such as sitting in vans all night, bringing “guns” to many places, also disturbing the peace. This game of assassination with water guns is to go on different missions of killing other players on their hit list. While they are only using water and it is just a game there can still be consequences. Of course the participants involved in the game enjoy it but they may not see past the fun to the dangers.
