Internet privacy is one of the world’s most important issues, the world wide web is a huge open door to millions of files full of private information. Many people have had their personal information stolen or revealed, this happens because websites that people use on the internet or apps that they use on their cellphones collect the data that they share with them. Many identity thieves go on these kinds of websites and look for their next victim. Identity thieves pose as police officers in order to steal information that is being kept secret from the public. These websites can not always check to make sure if anyone’s personal information is being stolen and they can’t make any changes to make things secure for everyone because to them that would take years. Unfortunately this makes it easier for hackers to go inside databases and steal information for their own reasons. People need to be careful what they put or share on the internet because it can ruin their lives for good. If someone shares their personal information on the internet they are likely to have their social security number stolen, their address revealed, bank accounts emptied, phone number revealed, photos revealed, and their medical records revealed as well. If any of these things are stolen from someone they could be in huge trouble. Social security important numbers are a very important thing to keep private because it is the only proof of your identity. Addresses and phone numbers are supposed to stay private and only shared for important purposes. Bank account numbers are not supposed to be shared on the internet because it can lead to all the money someone worked for to be cleaned out of their bank
