Free college sounds like a good idea. Right? That is, until you find out the money owed to the higher education system still needs to come from somewhere or someone. If college does end up being free of cost one day, there would be a ton of applications on the waiting list. There would more students attending college which might sound good but it might appear to devalue the college diploma. Financial dues owed to the college will be resolved through taxes although, there is an uncertainty of what class or classes will be affected through this process. This puts Americans in an uncomfortable burden situation. So, to have the luxury of free college is quite difficult to pursue, due to all classes that will have to carry the burden to keep free college a float. While more and more people start attending public school systems, fees will start increasing as well. So, even more money would have to be given to the school or the school will have to create some sort of waiting list. Also, with students not having to pay for school, this could create higher drop out rates and more laziness in classes since students do not have to get their money’s worth because they are not paying anything. Students would not apply themselves thoroughly or seriously. Without financial drive students may not complete schooling within a timely matter. They would just stay in college for as long as they can until the degree is completed. With so many students attending college having a diploma may not be unique anymore. People will be educated but will they use this degree to pursue the career they studied for. The answer no. There may be a hand full that get the opportunity to stay on their career path but most will fall into some areas of the labor workforce. College might not seem so important anymore. College degrees would be the norm, it would not be taken serious
