Waking up, filling up the coffee pot with water, pouring the coffee into the insertion, waiting and smelling the exhilarating aroma drip down as you patiently wait for your morning pick me up. Coffee has become an essential part of the American culture. It is the simplistic beverage of an American office, the caffeinated rush among college students and the binding mechanism for a social gathering. The ever-growing industry of coffee has broaden its horizons expanding its flavors worldwide, with many cultures now brewing their first cup to start their morning.
With a growing world and busy people, sleep deprivation has impacted many lives. With three hours to go on the job, one does not simple leave due to lack of sleep. In this situation, a cup of coffee comes to the rescue as the last remaining three hours remain. With this, coffee has made it into a special place in our daily lives.
However, the consumption of coffee and its high caffeine levels has raised the question to controversy. Ultimately, wondering whether or not coffee contained health risks or health benefits. With this, groups with extreme views on the subject are continuously urging the public to reduce and even eliminate any substance with caffeine in their products to protect one’s health. Although, with recent modern emerging research on the specific topic, coffee has evolved into creating health benefits and reducing an abundant amount of risks, such as type 2 diabetes as well as reducing the risks of certain cancers.

As the researchers found this more and more intriguing, they decided to follow “6,710 men and women ages 50 to 79 for 22 years … concluding that the heaviest coffee drinkers were at [an] 84% reduced risk of developing the disease” (Brewing 5).
