Other cities, like Beverly Hills, will be facing consequences if they don’t make the effort to save water. Water regulators are now able to fine people up to $500 if they take long showers, use a non-shutoff nozzle hose to wash their cars and sidewalk. After making changes like that, the state decided to focus on the smaller issues. For example, if you go to a restaurant, servers can’t bring you water unless you request. As you can see, many changes have been in made in the state of California to minimize the drought. There is a clear problem that California’s drought was caused at first by nature with “La Niña” but only

got worse with the overuse of water in land, manufacture, and housing consumption. Many people think that the drought can be fixed with a little rain, but the solution to this problem is looking down at the ground because 60% of California’s water comes from the Sierra Nevada forests. In 2006, the San Antonio Lake was full and flourished with water…the lake closed on July 1, 2015. The California drought has caused water loss in many lakes including Lake San Antonio. Many people who live around Lake San Antonio usually go fishing in the lake or use it as a resource for food and water. Unfortunately, many of these people are having a hard time getting their boats on the lake because of the low water level and the water in the lake is flowing at “minimum fish flow release”, which means the lake is at the tipping point of not being able to release any water at all. The San Antonio Lake was also a campground where families could just spend the weekend there appreciating nature and for others it was their backyard
