Most students don't get enough time to be kids. School should not be all year round. Students need a break from learning, and more time to enjoy their childhood. Students everywhere can be affected by the new school scheduling if they make the switch. Schools should keep the nine month schedule and give kids the summer off.
Many students feel very tired after a couple of months in school. Imagine if they never got time to be kids. Students need to have enough time to relax and be kids during their break. Even if students have the same amount of days off, One big break would be better for them. This would help with family vacations. Having summers off would help kids participate in other activities that they couldn't during the school year.

Our students need time to be kids, taking away their summer break wouldn’t let them do that. Summer months in America can get to be pretty hot. Hot weather means students needing more water, and cooler school buildings. Ames tribune said that this would raise budgets and make it difficult for extracurricular activities ("Letter: Year-round Schools Shouldn't Be an Option"). This would affect taxing on parents. The school would also have to save money in other times of the year, further affecting budget cuts on sports and classes. These budget cuts would hurt the school system and cost the taxpayers more money. Lots of high school students want to buy a car.
These students spend a lot of time working during the summer. These high school kids need the summer break to make money. Some families that do not have enough money might need these students to help around the house, doing chores and taking care of their brother and sister and other things. If we make school all year round these students will not be able to help their families during the summer months.
The major argument against all year round school might be valid, but it’s not enough to sway the public’s decision. Students would probably advance quicker through the school years. They might have an easier time learning. Students might get better grades on paper if they are in school all year round. This is a very valid point and should be considered when making decisions on all year round schooling. Lots of schools around the country care about what their students can do on paper.
If we don’t give kids a longer summer break kids will lose creativity and the ability to relax. We would lose lots of creative children because they will not get time to enjoy themselves and be kids. If greater intelligence is so important that our country is willing to sacrifice a child's creativity, their ability to be a kid then we need to rethink our goals as a country. Are “smarter” students worth a loss in creativity? Lots of inventions and discoveries have come from kids that are not necessarily straight A
students. Many school officials are attempting to switch to a all year round schedule. Students could be affected in a negative way if we make this switch. Many students will be tired of going to school and just want a break. Summer might be too expensive for the school systems during the summer, and finally some students are attempting to purchase cars during the summer or help their families. One must consider all of these factors when deciding whether or not to make school all year round. School is fine how it is and does not need to be changed to another schedule. It will only complicate the lives of students, teachers, and parents.
Nonetheless, there is some resistance to schools converting to a year-round calendar. Most of that opposition comes from the reduction in intersession length, and some students and/or parents don 't like the idea of year-round education from the start. This gives families a reason to voice their opposition when both the parents and child 's schedules do not line up with one another. This usually affects households that wish to take long vacations over the course of a summer. Parents, in some cases, may oppose this change because of child care needs. Child care raises opposition since there is a shift in the school year calendar. Parents may not be able to find nannies or babysitters. In addition, parents will have to check for or maybe even search for new or different childcare services. To add, parents with multiple children may have to worry about their children being put
Another significant reason is summer vacation needs to be longer. The primary reason for this is children need time to wind down and relax before they have to go back to school. For instance, during the summer children relax and prepare for school, if they...
First, the pros of year round schooling can include; effects on absence and burnout rates, effects on budget, more frequent breaks, and also a big effect on academic achievement. The way that year round schooling works to reduce burnout and also reduce absences is that by having more frequent breaks; students are less likely to want to skip class. This is definitely noticeable after spring break where most schools don’t have any days off until the end of the year that is usually more than 2 months straight. In other words the “April, May, June stretch”. Year round schooling will also help students with their academics as well because with the way the schedule is set up, students do not ha...
...on what they have learned by attending more days in school but not getting burned out on a traditional nine month school schedule. A few short breaks allows the mind to rest but not forget everything they have worked hard to achieve educational greatness. American society will achieve great things if the education system takes a step in all schools operating on a year round calendar.
School is usually a huge part of every child’s daily agenda. Teenagers in high school basically dedicate their entire day to school and homework. Students in grade 8 are similarly going through the same process as high school students. As students work 2 months after the Winter Break, some of them tend to start reducing their quality of work. When we’re tired of doing school work for two straight months, why should we only receive a short March break?
In conclusion, the advantages of year-round schooling are beneficial to all. If all schools did change to year round schooling, I believe we would be able to teach all the students without having to reteach skills from previous years, it could be done during intersessions. Year-round schooling benefits both the teachers and students. Teachers are able to reflect on their teachings and adjust in time before the next session would begin. The students would feel positive about themselves in school. With this change, we may even be able to accomplish No Child Left Behind.
Throughout time education has been considered a process that every so often must be improved. The education quality in the U.S. has declined over the years and people have been looking for a way to make improvements. A more recent proposal has been to go from a traditional nine-month schedule to an all year program. Supporters of year round school claim it gives the student a better education. However, the prospect of year round school is not beneficial to the taxpayers pocket, to the education a student receives, or to the people involved with the district.
For years, parents and educators have debated the advantages and disadvantages of the traditional school calendar, which has long summer vacations for all students. The longer you are away from school, the more you lose what you learned in the previous year. Studies have shown that children who know English as a second language benefit the most from year-round education because during the long summer break, they may not hear English for several months. Long summer breaks is a problem for traditional schools and the solution is to substitute traditional schools for year-round schools.
Year round school is just simply too much for students. Many families believe summers are made for creating memories and should not be spent in a school. “I don’t want my daughter enrolled in year round school because it is way too much work and stress” Most kids already have enough work as it is, plus after school responsibilities such as watching a younger sibling, cleaning up the house, or mowing the lawn. Some teenagers also might have a problem with getting a job because of year round school schedule.
Would you consider going to a school where you learn year-round? Maybe this would be your ideal school, but, when would you get to have some time to go to summer camp, or get a summer job, or play a sport with games during the day? Schools with the traditional schedule may actually be a better choice, and not just because kids love summer break. Schools should have a traditional school year schedule instead of a year round schedule because there isn’t a significant difference between the students’ performance, and year round schedules make planning family vacations hard, make the teachers’ job more difficult, and are more expensive. Also, having a summer break allows kids to participate in activities that they would not be able to do on a year round schedule due to the shorter breaks.
One reason all year-round schools should not be made for example kids need to relax their brains. If the people that run year round school don’t cancel all year-round school kids won't be able to relax and spend time with their families. Another example Summer vacation gives kids time to relax their brains and prevents students and teachers from being exhausted. Students and
The first reason for the traditional school year, the students should have a break time and they will spend time for the family traditional vacation. For summer breaks no longer term of YRE, the students will have three to four weeks shorter breaks then back to school. They attend school for more than 180 days calendars. For example, the students feel all the stress about heavily homework, test, studying, and quiz, but they need a break. In fact, summer vacation is a family tradition. YRE should give an opportunity for health and social education. In addition, the most United State school kids have lost their summer break in 2.5 million as their school districts options of YRE (“Year-Rou...
Should school be year round? Well, I say yes because our young people will get done with High School faster. And if school was year round, students will not have a chance to get in a lot of trouble and they will not be able to join a gang or have time to hang on a block because they will not have a long summer break. Somebody needs to bring this problem to the school board to see if they will make the change to save many students’ lives by keeping them off the streets and keeping them in school all year long. If the children were in school longer, they will most likely turn out better, but it’s up to the people of communities to push kids through school. I believe parents need to stand up for their kids’ rights to help them have a better future by helping to make school last all year.
The first reason why year round schooling wouldn’t be a good idea is because of focusing for long periods of times for some students. First of all, many kids with disabilities or elementary school would have a hard time focusing that long of a time without their traditional three month summer break. Second, the more breaks students have might make it harder to focus before and after breaks. Before breaks many kids would be excited to
Also, a longer break would let them spend time with family members. Students would like a longer summer break to spend time with family members. Students could stay with other family members and cook out with them, play games with their family members, and talk with their family members as well.
