Starting at the age of 11, there was this young girl who began to get really interested into makeup. Her dad though, did not really like makeup at all so she snuck it on whenever she got to school and made sure she took it off either while she and her brothers walked home or before her dad came to pick her up. This young girl was only in the 6th grade, which is kind of reasonable now that she thinks back on it, but when she was 11 she thought it was the most unfair thing; why stop her from doing something she like that expresses herself and who she am as a person? But as time went on and she got older and understood that it just meant he was scared that she was growing up too quickly. Being a Makeup artist would be rewarding, because a makeup …show more content…

Cultures around the world began using makeup for many things such as dancing, rituals, communicating, and trying to get in contact with other “Gods”. Makeup then transformed into theatrical makeup by the Elizabethan age. During this time theatre got more popular which made makeup more popular to wear. Then in Asia during the 17th century began to maintain a symbolic and stylized makeup to depict the characters native and social standing. Barbie, Mattel’s Iconic Doll, is a doll that allows children to imagine their futures. Back when Barbie first appeared on the shelves, she was blonde wearing a black and white stripped swimming suit. Today, Barbie Dolls have many different careers and ethnicities. Barbie getting from point A to B wasn’t easy, since she had a life filled with controversy. Should Barbie get a makeover? I feel that if this question is rearranged to say, ‘Should Barbie get a makeover to become what society believes to be ‘average’ or ‘normal’, the answer becomes clear, no.
All women wish to look their best on their wedding day, prom, or their ten year anniversary, so it is a makeup artist’s job to fulfil this desire. The art of emphasizing one’s most attractive features by highlighting the inner corner of the eye to brighten the eyes, contouring the cheeks to make the cheekbones appear higher and painting on bold lipstick to form perfect, plump lips make the face appear flawless. Some people do not wear makeup everyday, so when they do, their face can appear brightened and awake, therefore they believe they look wonderful. Although many people are confident in their appearance and do not demand makeup to boost their self-esteem, wearing well-applied makeup will always make someone feel
Everyone in today’s society has pressure put on themselves because of the way they look. No matter if you are the most gorgeous/handsome person on this planet, that specific person has their own faults with their image. Financial success now a days puts pressure on others image. For instance, for women to work at “Twin Peaks,” “Hooters,” “Bone Daddy’s,” “Bombshells,” or any of the other sports bars, you either have to have one of the following, “Boobs, butt, pretty face, or a flat stomach.” If you are hired with one or the other, let’s face it… you will get talked about and or made fun of. As for men, it is pretty much the same. Just as the new “Tallywackers” that opened up in Dallas. People (women mostly) that go into the restaurant, get to choose their server before they sit down. To others that is completely unfair, because their body image depends on their pay that night. With how bad people are getting teased/bullied, changing to the opposite sex, getting plastic surgery and etc. no one seems to have tried to do anything about any of it. It is probably because we have all kinds of different ways with technology to make someone feel beautiful and good about themselves, that it does not need to be fixed. Though in some cases, others do not have money to do what
Have you ever wondered how some athletes have gotten so good at a certain sport? Have you ever thought about what they did in order for them to get this good? For some the answer is simple; workout and train. But for others the answer is different; the use of performance enhancing drugs such as steroids. There are some people that argue that steroids should be legalized and allowed in professional sports. Other people argue that steroids should not be allowed. Today I am going to state my opinion and justify my reason. Steroids should not be allowed in professional sports because it can be very dangerous to the athlete’s health, it is a way to gain and un-fair advantage and it can be dangerous in both social and physical aspects.
What do you call a blonde who dies their hair brown? Artificial Intelligence. From stereotypical jokes like these, to being called a ditz or an airhead blondes are being discriminated against by everyone around the world. Blondes are awesome, but tend to be accused of having lower IQ’s and are often portrayed as dumb and brainless in movies such as Legally Blonde and Clueless. These stereotypes and false conclusions are untrue and offensive to the blonde haired community, but being blonde has many benefits including looking younger than you actually are, but also attracting more men than ANY OTHER hair color.

Makeup and cosmetics have always been used long before the first century. Some sources still find that hard to believe, because the ancient hunters were the first people who mixed urine and mud to camouflage their scent, but that would mean everything from bug spray to VapoRub is a cosmetic, but not all materials that are mixed together are able to apply onto the
Makeup has transformed the lives of so many individuals and continues to play an important role in the daily routines of many women (and those men who choose to wear makeup). [Pause] The main reason why makeup initially became integrated into the daily lives of many individuals was to help conceal facial features that people were insecure about. No individual would put so much time [Pause], effort [Pause], and education [Pause] into a task that is only to impress others. It is nice to present our self-expression to others, but it all reflects how one feels. One can change
Every fall high school seniors around the globe are in a state of panic. Of course you are no stranger to this process, you have dealt with this stress firsthand. These documents are essential for nearly all students who want to advance to an institution of higher learning, but for many the paper trail does not end there. Seniors interested in a career in art, well specifically in visual art, need one more thing to obtain that sparkling acceptance letter. That missing link is a portfolio.
