Motivation can be expressed by the way we react toward certain situations, especially those that can cause a gain. Many times we have to have goals or incentives to be able to motivate. Motivation does not come naturally to everyone; many times we have to seek within ourselves in order to find the drive that will eventually allow an individual to seek the motivation needed to succeed.
An individual can be motivated in so many ways, at times it can help the person in a positive way and sometimes it can be negative. One of the most important topics of motivations comes within us and involves our self-esteem. It reflects emotions and the way people seem themselves. Self-esteem is the mirror of one’s soul, what moves people as individuals and might allow them to proceed and better themselves. Another way to help with motivation is to seek professional help, talk to others and make the necessary changes to feel accepted.
What motivates us can differ from person to person and it might dictate how people will react towards certain situations. This is the reason why Self Esteem is a very important topic since it is based on internal motives, the way people view themselves and the way they react. In the other hand, drug abuse can be detrimental fro a person’s motivation since the person can become dependent and loose all control. Having someone to talk to when the person is down is very important because it can help them avoid drug use and many times the person supporting them can give them the impulse needed to seek professional help. If a person has a positive personality they can achieve many more goals than those who are negative. Motivation is based on incentives and the person’s own wiliness to progress. Motivation is best defined as the needs, wants, and beliefs that drive an individual. It is the basis of what people work for and keeps them doing things they otherwise would never do. People act in a whole new manner when they are motivated by something. Motivation gives them a whole new perception of the task at hand. Motivation is not always positive though, and it does not always just come from one place, for example, your boss. Motivation can be negative by not receiving something, and contrary to popular belief it is not always money that motivates people to do what they do. People have different needs, wants, and desires and the finding what is most important to those individuals is the key to motivation. People and companies have used countless techniques and approaches to motivate others and employees, but what works for one person does not necessarily work for the other.
For me, self-motivation is empowering. Finding something that I enjoy and love to do and setting the final goal of achieving it. My main goal that I have set right now is to work towards finishing my degree. My motivation behind this is to be able to get a better job and to set a good example for boys. With the right mind set, I can do and finish anything that I put my mind to. My education is very important to me and will help get me further in life. No one can push you towards your dreams and goals; you have to have the will and determination to push yourself.
