Personalisation focuses on high quality teaching and learning, target setting and tracking, focused assessment, intervention, pupil grouping, the learning environment, curriculum organization, the extended curriculum, and supporting children’s wider needs.

The four values of personalisation focus on key aspects of all people's lives:
1. respect
2. self-determination
3. inclusion, and
4. fostering relationships.
These values of personalised learning create a more collaborative way of working between teacher and learner.
Respect
Respect refers to listening to other people; accepting, and more importantly, valuing the different ways in which they communicate. It allows people enough time to respond to stimuli, even if they need a little longer …show more content…

Self-determination also assumes that the control of major parts of a learner’s life should fall to the learner themselves, including such areas as relationships with carers and other support workers.
Inclusion
Inclusion is encouraged through the participation in a variety of activities in social and sporting settings within the community, encouraging assimilation into community in the process.
In fact, participation is a major element of inclusion, and learning activities with a wide variety of people, from employees to trainees and other pupils and students are encouraged within the idea of inclusion.
Through work-related activities, or work itself, every learner has an opportunity to contribute to the economy of the country, and lifelong learning is highlighted as a way of supporting this effort.
