I am interested in a College of Education major, specifically Movement and Exercise Science, at UNI because I know that it would be the area where I would excel the most. I believe that because it combines my interest of physical anatomy/physiology and how it can help athletes improve their athletic performance. When it comes to my goals I like to make them reasonable and attainable, but also make them in a way that is challenging. I do so because I want to feel a sense of pride and accomplishment upon completion of the specific goal or goals I set. My overall goal is to graduate from college with a major in Movement and Exercise Science and a minor in Technology. Then move on to a job where I can help improve performance of athletes and clients
I would like to enter the University of Charleston’s Athletic Training Program on the basis that I love being around sports and I enjoy working with and taking care of athletes. I first became interested in Athletic Training when I was given a tour of the UNC Athletic Training facility by Kevin Guskiewicz, who is the current dean of UNC College of Arts and Sciences. He was the previous head Athletic Trainer for UNC. After the experience, I quickly enrolled in Athletic Training classes in high school and began to learn the basics for becoming an Athletic Trainer. I loved learning about different injuries and how to treat them because as a student athlete I am very accident prone and figuring out what is wrong with my body is important for my collegiate athletic career. I have also had a dream of working with professional athletes. I have been involved with sports my whole life and have always considered these professional athletes as my role models. By entering University of Charleston’s Athletic Training Program I
I have many goals as an Athletic Training Student, and continuing my education is the biggest goal in order to be successful in my career and future goals. Eventually, I will earn a doctorate and go on to work at a professional level with a major league soccer team. I also aim to increase the knowledge and awareness of mental health within the field of athletic training.
Every part of our body is a science. I never imagined the hidden science in the movements of the body. The science of kinesiology is the science of body movements. I grew up watching my grandma and the changes in her body as both of us got older, I could walk and balance properly while she lost it. I always felt bad when she was not able to get up and walk properly and as caring grandson I always gave her my hand. It was a great feeling for me to take care of her in her last days. Her difficulty in moving always pointed me to do something for her and I landed doing kinesiology- the science of human movements. I completed my high school at Cathedral High School in West Texas. I was an active member of National Honor Society as well as Spanish Honor Society. I held the treasurer position for one year in the society, which I felt proud of. I was not excellent at my academics, was just an average student struggling with the subjects of chemistry and anatomy. It is strange at one point of time suddenly when u come across a certain situation or an accident and u just realize your dream and...
For as long as I could remember, I always knew that I wanted to pursue a career in the field of physical therapy. Everything about the human body is captivating from the way it works to its powerful ability to heal itself. To many people, the field of physical therapy involves using exercise to aid in the restoration of physical function in patients, but to me, it means so much more. One reason as to why the field of physical therapy peeked my interests is because it combines my keen curiosity for the human body and all its fascinating capabilities, physical exercise and the compassion to help others. In recent years, several events occurred that have helped inspire me to become a physical therapist.
My short and long-term goals are mainly focused towards bettering myself and enhancing my education to be able to better care for people. I believe there is always room for improvement in everything that we do and one should always keep that in
The University of Charleston’s LLO’s and Mission Statement can fully be applied to my future career and my service learning project. The future profession I would like to pursue at the University of Charleston is Athletic Training. Within this field I am given many opportunities to apply these LLO’s. Whether it be in the classroom, the AT Clinic or on the field, I can use them. I think that having them now and applying them before I start my career, will greatly improve my chances of succeeding.
The subject came so naturally to me and I decided to continue my enrollment in sports medicine courses throughout my high school education. As my senior year of high school concluded, I explored the idea of a career in physical therapy by job shadowing at the Idaho Sports Medicine Institute (ISMI). After observing the PTs at ISMI, I was immediately drawn to a career in physical medicine. A few months later, I started my education at Idaho State and felt exactly like I did when I started sports medicine in high school. I was absolutely enthralled with my classes, naturally excelled in all of my coursework, and always had PT school in the back of my mind. I knew I would have to work extremely hard to develop a strong undergraduate transcript and build a competitive application. Throughout my undergraduate career, I have worked relentlessly to maintain academic excellence and currently have a 3.91 GPA. I have also succeeded in making the College of Education’s Dean’s List for five semesters. Unfortunately, I did not receive the honor of making the Dean’s List on one occasion, as I was .02 points below the minimum

Goals give you something to measure yourself against and give you direction. Currently, my main goal is to graduate from East Carolina University with a bachelor’s degree of science in engineering with a concentration in biomedical engineering. My anticipated time to graduation is five years with a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Beyond getting my bachelor’s degree at East Carolina University, I would like to go to medical school and become a doctor focusing on prosthetics. In order to make my goals a reality, I will have to work diligently to remain on track throughout my schooling. Additional goals that I have set for myself are to complete homework assignments by the time they are due, reading assigned material before it is discussed in class, doing well in each of my courses this semester, successfully participating in extracurricular activities, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in engineering, getting a position as an engineer, and becoming a leader within both the engineering community and the general community. A world-class engineering student woul...
First off, I want to graduate from college and do it well. I want to be able to do things on the weekends and not worry about having to make things up or anything like that. I am hoping for a scholarship in football, in my opinion that would be a great start for me in college. Then after college maybe pursue that as a career. If that doesn't work out for me then I want to look into athletic training or physical therapy. If those things don't interest me or I don't get into it I am then looking into law. That will take much more time and patience, but it's gonna be the rest of my life.
One course that particularly excites me is the Strategic Management in Sports because it focuses on the specifics of the job. The Sports Business Association and Phi Epsilon Kappa are all ways I see myself meeting people that have the same interest as I do. However, the most important reason why I am so excited to go to the School of Kinesiology is the positive feedback the students about it. Current students comment about how the professors really make you feel noticed, while you are still part of the larger scale of students are really important to me. I understand the value of close one-on-one interaction with teachers. My business teacher in high school and I were able to find a mutual interest in investing so we started an investing club. This helped develop our relationship. One particular study that I am interested in is the impact of race study conducted by Ms. Armstrong. This study interest me so much because I have always wondered how our society has changed throughout history in sports. In addition, I realize the importance of being a part of a greater student community, which offers unique and diverse perspectives to my own. This is important to me because I have always been a part of big communities throughout my entire
I want to apply to college track because I need some tutoring in math and physics, I also want to be able to be prepared for the ACT Test. I also want to be sure that I have a high eligibility for college when I apply for a college. I want to improve my social skills and overcome obstacles that might come on my way. I would also like to have support when I'm applying for a college or when I'm in College. I'm applying to college track to help me keep my GPA up and to have support when I'm having troubles in my classes. If I got accepted to the program I would benefit by taking advantage of the tutoring that is offered to me, it can benefit me by becoming more socially active with others than just keeping to myself, helping out with all the kids
