I want to apply to college track because I need some tutoring in math and physics, I also want to be able to be prepared for the ACT Test. I also want to be sure that I have a high eligibility for college when I apply for a college. I want to improve my social skills and overcome obstacles that might come on my way. I would also like to have support when I'm applying for a college or when I'm in College. I'm applying to college track to help me keep my GPA up and to have support when I'm having troubles in my classes. If I got accepted to the program I would benefit by taking advantage of the tutoring that is offered to me, it can benefit me by becoming more socially active with others than just keeping to myself, helping out with all the kids
I have applied to Saint Ignatius College Prep because I think that it is the right school for me. Saint Ignatius is a place where I feel that I can be pushed to my limits to learn as much as I can as well as meet lots of new people. I love the esthetic of the school and how kind everyone is to each other. I believe that Saint Ignatius is the place for me because everyone is open to new ideas and others' opinions. Saint Ignatius is a place where I can excel in both learning and extra-curricular related activities. Over the summer, I took a classical mythology class at Saint Ignatius and I learned so much from Dr. Wood (the teacher). Throughout my time at Saint Ignatius over the summer, I learned so much about the school and discovered many more

I would like to thank Salish Kootenai College for giving me the wonderful opportunity of applying for STEM academy. If somebody had told me that I would be applying for college classes as a sophomore, I would not have believed them. My parents have always told me that when an opportunity comes, you should take it, and I do not plan on letting this experience go to waste. Education has been a big part of my life, and this academy can only help me move forward. That being said, here are a few reasons why I should be considered a candidate for the STEM academy. Joining the STEM academy will allow me to further my knowledge and help me to get closer to my goals, my academic career would flourish, and I would be closer to my ambition for my future. I am determined to become the best and most educated version of myself that I can possibly be.
I want to go to college for the wholesome intellectual stimulation and to get more involved with my community. College will be my last opportunity to do so before I enter the work force. At college I can be intellectually and academically challenged; I will be able to learn with friends who are as dedicated to learning and the pursuit of knowledge as I am. My goals in college are to acquire the skills that I need to lead a successful and productive life, to expand my knowledge of the world, to step out of my comfort zone, and to become more proactive.
I can’t sit here and just say that my parents only taught me the significance of being an athlete first and student second. My parents taught me values of an education and the success it can bring you at an early age but they also taught me that if I used my God given abilities that I wouldn’t have to always depend so heavily on education. The miniscule outlook I had on education was brought upon myself through the constant reminder from my community. While attending Decatur high school I found myself getting into certain situations that I’m not normally used to; such problems range from failing grades to public embarrassment. After talking with my parents on what my plans for school were I knew that it was in my best interest to leave public school at Decatur High School to attend private school at Union Chapel Christian Academy. From the time I left Decatur High and began classes at Union Chapel I instantly started seeing my full potential shining brighter than any light. I went from making Ds and Fs to making As and Bs, I actually cared about making it to school on time, being at basketball practice & getting involved with
My interests in the STEP programs lies within the fact that it will aid me in achieving a full ride to college. Throughout my whole life, I have been blessed with many amazing things that my parents have worked hard for. By being able to receive a full scholarships, it will be my way of thanking my parents for what they have done for me throughout my whole life. As a result, if I am not able to achieve a full ride scholarship, it would be a huge disappointment. By being apart of the program, I hope to gain knowledge about the steps required to improve my chances of going to a good college and information that will help me become a better human being. In addition, while I am there, I would like to acquire new friends that will hopefully be apart of my life in the future.
What makes me like most others seeking acceptance into your program is a strong desire to help others, excellent grades and evidence of my interest through experience. What separates me from other applicants is my independence, self-confidence and my sense of adventure, all qualities I have developed through my experiences as a Division 1 collegiate athlete. Volleyball has taught me how to simultaneously be a leader and a teammate. It has taught me how to achieve, with grace, both success and defeat. It forced me to understand the difficult journey of recovery from injury. And, on a more mental level, being a member of a college athletic team challenged my ability to manage my time and work with professors to accommodate missed material. As a freshman, going to college out of state was an act of faith and courage, but one that I do not regret. All of these experiences have given me confidence that I can act and think independently...
If you do not meet these requirements, you will not be eligible for a scholarship (Rachel). Grades are one of the main thing colleges look at before giving a scholarship so just because you have all the skills does not mean you will get a scholarship. If you are showing major improvement some teams will give you one because they know you will quickly get it .Students with bad grades do not qualify for any type of college scholarship. In fact, most kids will not get into college much less a scholarship.
My sophomore year had begun and I wasn't sure whether or not I was going to do track this year. Last year I played football in the fall and soccer in the spring. Not really enjoying it, the decision was made to play " real futbol" (soccer) in the fall, leaving the spring sports season open. My friend kept telling me how fun track was, so I decided to give it a try.
During the entirety of my high school career, I have pushed myself to take on more challenging courses such as AP U.S. History, AP Chemistry, AP Literature, as well as AP Calculus. These classes have helped me to form study habits which will be applied in college when the workload and expectations grow even more. In addition, I have also formed a small study group with two other girls who are taking all of the same rigorous classes as me and we get together on a regular basis to study for tests or complete difficult homework assignments. As a group, we are constantly challenging one another to think deeper and problem solve, which has helped me in other areas of school and life in general. I strongly believe that this group will push me to
I am currently on the Western Harnett High School Track, I was going to play football and basketball but unfortuently I suffered a injury in my left foot keeping me out from what I was hoping would be a dominate season. However the reason I want to be in the upward bound program because although I’m a exceptional student I would like to participate in this college type program. The college I hope to get in is the University of Duke. I’ve been already researching the topics that these colleges offer. The one topic that caught my attention for Duke university is African and American Studies, the reason I’m so interested in this category is a little part of my older sibling honestly. He’s always talking about black excellence and how you should carry yourself, I would like to be able to carry myself the way my parents do and showcase my skills in the world. The second reason for this is my Dad. He is from Ghana west Africa and lived there for all of his childhood. I would like to experience the culture and lifestyle he was raised in, and I would mainly like to learn about my past ancestors; In hopes of teaching
I am applying to transfer to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, because of my strong interest in the School of Education. Currently I am enrolled in a Community College that I have found to be indeed different to the four-year college I attended during the Fall semester of 2015. Despite, the many differences, I have equally valued the education I have received. The University of Chapel Hill has always been a college that stood out to me, since my junior year in high school. Although, from fear of being rejected and lack of belief in myself, I did not apply my senior year in high school, but now that I am soon to completing my freshmen year as a college student, I have realized that my potentials and capabilities to achieve anything are highly great. I am very hopeful that my academic credentials will suffice to compete with other transfer students applying for admission.
Learning is a continuous process and the day that you stop learning is the day that you start decreasing your rewards and lower levels of satisfaction. My ardent desire to acquire knowledge has motivated me to pursue higher studies at graduate level, and to take up a career in research in industry. I have taken this decision after carefully considering my academic background, profound interest in research and strong aptitude for problem solving.
As rightly said by Hippocrates “The life so short, the craft so long to learn”. I believe that a good mix of talent and dependability are a crucial and potent mix for success. Honing my skills with a Masters’ degree after completing my Bachelors’ Degree In Physiotherapy, I believe would help me develop an array of cross functional skills. Gaining technical expertise in the subject of physiotherapy and then whetting my skills during my internship, taught me to be precise and scrupulous towards every task at hand. Having successfully pursued this field for nearly 5 years, I believe that, if given a chance, these skills endow me with the knowledge to gain an opportunity to pursue higher studies at your prestigious university.
