The first game of basketball was played on December 21,1891. James Naismith published rules for a new game using five basic ideas and thirteen rules. Today all thirteen rules are used in a national basketball league. There are five referees that would make sure that all of those rules are being followed in the game of basketball. He is a very good and mostly better than most people he would play. He would average about 27.1 points in every game he play. That is very good because people that play in the NBA would average about 5 to 10 points in a game of basketball. In 2013 the media said that Lebron James was the best basketball player in the world. When i achieve my goal of wanting to become a basketball player I want the media to say that about
It was not until the year 2002 that the NBA was able to find someone to match Jordan’s dazzling acrobatic style of play. His name is Lebron James. Lebron, who plays shooting guard and small forward, stands at an athletic six-eight. James, however, never played in the NCAA. He was drafted straight out of high school in the 2003-04 season, by the Cleveland Cavaliers. James is already on the road to success by achieving co-rookie of the year, and he appeared in the Olympics. James is expected to be a champion, but he may not have what it takes to become a real champion such as Michael Jordan was. Before Jordan or James can be categorized as a champion, they have to be able to handle pressure, fame, and maintain a positive relationship with their team. When comparing Jordan and James’ clutch capabilities, or their ab...
Basketball is defined as a game where two teams of five play each on a rectangular court, usually indoors (Basketball/Sport). Basketball was invented by James Naismith on December 1, 1891 (Basketball/Sport). The object of basketball is to shoot the basketball through the opposing team’s basket and to out-score them by end of the regulation time limit. If the score is tied at this time, the game will go into overtime until one team wins. While reading about basketball, I found it interesting that when the sport was invented they would nail baskets to balconies with no backboards. This made it easy for spectators (in the balcony) to help their team by either swatting the
Basketball was born in 1891 in the United States, specifically at the University of YMCA, Springfield (Massachusetts), where they studied the career of Physical Education and taught practical courses in athletics, rugby, cycling and gymnastics. James Naismith, professor of Physical Education, wanted to create a team sport that could be practiced in the gym during the winter cold. After analyzing the sports that were practiced at that time, such as rugby, football, baseball, etc., he wrote eleven rules of a game, which today is known as Basketball. Naismith placed two baskets of peaches nailed to the ends of a track, 3'05 m above the ground. From here arose the name of basketball (basketball), English compound word that defines the goal of the
Basketball has been around for a long while. It was first established in 1891 by James Naismith. James Naismith was once the basketball coach at Kansas University. When he invented the sport he used a peach basket as the goal. When it first originated every time they would score they’d be required to call the janitor out with a ladder to get the ball down. As a result, LeBron James has made many friends and enemies along the way, but some people will always look up to him. For example, a few years ago, LeBron saw this kid in the stands and gave him the shoes he wore that game. Even though the kid was a fan of the other team, the kid will now always be a fan of LeBron. LeBron inspires me to play basketball by having fun with the fans and helping out around the world. I am inspired by LeBron James because he is amazing at basketball and makes many people think that they can do what he does.

A basketball could be just a toy for many, or even represent a release for others, but for me, it means a lot more. A basketball represents my blood, sweat, tears, passion, sacrifice, and most of all, a sense of belonging, like a family. At this moment in my life, there are only three things I devote my life to- family, friends, and basketball. Basketball has shaped my life probably more than anything else. Basketball has instilled in me a vicious will to achieve and embrace my ambitions instead of fearing them. Basketball gave me an open opportunity to try something new. New opportunities and experiences are not such a big deal anymore. From academics to personal matters, the lessons that I have learned from basketball has impacted my life.
Ever since I was a little boy, about eight years old or so, I had an extreme passion for the sport of basketball. On weekends, I would wake up in the morning, eat a bowl of frosted flakes or cheerios, put on basketball shorts and then go in my driveway to shoot around. I would be out there for hours just shooting around or playing with some random kids that I would occasionally see walking around my neighborhood. This was satisfaction to me, but even better was playing on multiple public teams and not just playing in my driveway every day. In elementary school, I played in a recreational league, just like almost every other kid who tries out basketball when they were younger. This was fun and all but it was nothing too serious. There were never any practices, it was just one or two unorganized games per week. I never took
