It had been one scorching hot summer when the temperatures were record breaking. Everyone was dying for water and air conditioning, people were having heart strokes, getting over heated and being rushed to the hospital. This place was Nashville, Tennessee, where country music is all you hear and they all wear jeans, button down shirts with boots and act the heat is no big deal. Tennessee is the homegrown town for country music and artists. Where you can have a fun time and relax. When I was about 10 years old my family and I went to Nashville for a vacation and had a had a blast. We got to see just about everything that you would die to see. When we arrived, we went and walked downtown to see what everyone always talked about, like how Tennessee is a great place to go on vacation. It was much different than what I thought it would be. I thought it would be boring and just country everything. When we walked around town the first day you see lots of sights that you wouldn't see in Nebraska. There have been lots of people just trying to get a couple of bucks performing on the streets.Most of the people are really good and they end up with more money than others that are not as good.But that was okay they were either there for entertainment or for the extra green cash. As the day started to dwindle down, we got annoyed with all the little kids running around and trying to outrun each other and parents yelling at them, we thought we would call it a day. Before we would go back to the hotel we decided to expand our looking of the city and take in all the sights and smells of Tennessee. Maya Angelou once said, “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” That quote is the best description of Phenix City. The people of this town make up that wonderful feeling. When you cross that city line, yes, everything moves slower and it is more laid back. But, I, like Freddie Hart, proudly admit that Phenix City, Alabama is my old hometown!
I got dressed as fast as I could so I could make it to Strawberry with my papa. At this time of year in Mississippi weather was always chilly. So I made sure to put on my warm jacket. But in the 1930s no clothes was really warm, we couldn't afford the good jacket that I wanted but at least I wasn't like Cassie who wore ugly clothes. I suddenly thought of Jeremy and I had to make sure he was getting ready. I yelled at the top of my lungs, “JEREMY ARE YOU READY YET? WE HAVE TO GO TO STRAWBERRY TODAY!”
It was not particularly hot that Fourth of July many years ago, but looking back it was the heat that impressed itself upon me the most. The true heat was much more than the temperature. The true heat that I felt was from the long, winding, awe-inspiring chase that the cops gave my friends and me.
We were driving to the Wakulla Springs Lodge. Mom and Dad wanted to go there before the butterflies migrate. I wanted to go to the movies.
As my brother, sister, dad, and I pull up to the house, I look at it with uncertainty, not knowing what to expect. It was a small blue house and had flowers planted around it. We walked up to the house with me in the lead. That didn't last long though. I was too nervous, so I stood still and turned around, waiting for my dad to get ahead of me.
These are some of the amazing things about Tennessee. Tennessee has had a long history and many battles, the land of Tennessee is different in different parts of the state with many places to learn about and see, and the businesses have changed over the years as other things have also changed.
Have you ever been to Texas? I have been once. My trip to Texas was unbelievably awesome. I saw many of things on my way there. While we were there, I had loads of fun. Many things happened while we were there. Texas was the coolest place I have ever been.
A summer day when the tempeature got much higher than expected and I wasn’t prepared. It was summer football practice. The time was 10:30 in the morning. When the team was running, it was 80 degrees. It wasn’t so bad until it got later in the day hotter.
Not only will you find folk and country music here, but this city is also the center of Jazz and Blues. Almost every weekend there are music festivals and outdoor concerts which will ramp up your energy and will make you wish you could live here forever. Beer: Memphis is famous for its local breweries. No matter where you go, you will never find any shortage of beer.
Country is one thing that reminds me of when I lived in Texas. Mostly all of the time they would play it on the radio or anywhere. Texas is one of my most favorite places that I lived. The most memorable time that i was listening to country is when I went to a radeo, when I was about seven years old. I remember on the loud speaker they played a song called Ring
Learning something new can be a terrifying experience for many. One of the scariest things I have done was go parasailing on our trip to Destin, Florida. I was always afraid of heights since little, but my mom and her husband was determined to cross this task off of their bucket list. What I didn't realize was that going up would also make me more open to exploring new things.
The place where I would like to call me second home is located all the way down in Savanna Georgia. I can remember way back about nine years ago in the summer of 2008. The plane ride was a long and hot, and I spent the whole ride playing on my PSP. When I got off the plane I remembered walking through the freezing cold Savanna International Airport seeing all the flags of different countries hanging from the ceiling, but then taking one step out of the airport front doors looking for the car services that was rented and feeling the crushing 100°F heat and deathly humidity. But it is all worth the painful heat to spend time in the beautiful city.
I was born in Jackson, Mississippi, and lived in a small town on the outskirts of Jackson, where everybody knew everybody. It was there where I learned about God, life, and how to be a southern lady. I have a lot of memories of living in Mississippi. There is one memory that sticks out more than any others.
It was close to four o’clock in the morning and we were tired. We met up with my dad at the airport and grab us a taxi. As we leave, we drive by a desert that was completely surrounded with sand. Passing through we made it into the city, looking at the flashing lights and buildings that stood tall. It was too early to go out and explore, we needed our rest. As we walk into our hotel, it was like walking into an expensive apartment. With its very own kitchen, washer and dryer, and a patio to top it all
Now we had to make the long trip back to Mrs. Tina’s house. It was such a long day, and we were extremely tired so we decided to skip dinner. We took showers, put on our pajamas, brushed are teeth, and went to bed. Over the next few days we went to the beach, had picnics in the park, went bike riding and skating, and took a trip to the mall. We had such a fun week, but now it was time to go home. So, we thanked Mrs. Tina and her family for being so generous and welcoming to us. We told them that they would have to come visit us so we could return their kindness they showed us. So, we gave them hugs and kisses and we headed back to Las Vegas.
