Over break I did a lot of things that made it a good break, but there were five things that liked the most. Our coach said “You guys should do something for team bonding over break” We started thinking of things to do and al decided that it would be fun to go tubing. We all met at my house and everyone that could drive got the people that couldn't drive in their car and we left. Later that week me and my sister were bored after practice. So she asked me “Do you want to go to the mall with me” So I said yes and we left to go to the mall. When we got there we ate at the food court and decided that we were just going to shop after that. When we were done we walked around all of the shoe stores because she was looking for a specific pair …show more content…
Grandma yelled out the door as we all left “Bye guys merry christmas”. A few days passed and it was new years eve and we were going to go to my uncles to watch the ball drop.I went outside in the barn where my dad already was working on his truck,so I helped him for a few hours then I went back inside.I noticed it was time for lunch so I ate a sandwich.I was feeling a little tired so since it was new years eve I knew I would have to be up really late so I layed down and took a nap. When I woke up I was rushed by my dad saying “If that's what your wearing lets go and if not hurry up and change we need to leave soon” We left and once we got there we had pizza. We all sat down on the couch and watched the Bengals game. When we got done with the game everyone went downstairs to play cards. The kids got out one game and the adults got out theirs. We all played until a minute before the ball dropped. When there was a minute left we all walked over to the TV and got ready for it to drop.Once it dropped everyone said happy new year and sat down.About 5 minutes after everyone was gone and on their way back
When we got on the other side of the lake we got the fishing poles, minnows and gas. We had to take the gas to put in the boat motor. It was a one mile walk to get to the other lake. When we got to the lake we put the fishing tackle in the boat and then we went and started fishing for lake trout. We had to put two hundred feet of string down with a minnow on it. We had the minnow on a hook called a cow bell, it had bright neon color beads on it so the fish were able to see it in that dark water. We each were allowed to catch and keep 3 fish. I caught 2, Luke caught 3, Grandpa caught 3 and Grandpa’s friend caught 3. Then we started back to the cabin to have the fish
It was the Monday before Thanksgiving. I was out of work at the time so I got up around nine o’clock. I wasn’t feeling well, like I had eaten something that just was not agreeing with me. So I rolled out of bed and went downstairs. My girlfriend and her mom were at the kitchen table working on decorations for the party they were hosting for the holiday.
With his hand in mine, we walked through New York's Times Square. We went to Tad's Steakhouse, where you could get a T-bone, a baked potato, a hunk of garlic bread, and a tossed salad for $2.79. We went to my grandmother's house on Saturday afternoons for endless games of gin rummy, Parcheesi, and Chinese checkers. We went for long hikes on Sunday afternoons, through the nearby woods. We hitchhiked together. We played music together -- he on a keyboard, me on a drum kit. We strolled the railroad tracks together in Paterson, New Jersey, laying pennies on the rails and waiting for the train to pass so we could use the flattened coins for guitar picks.
I remember the day very clearly, it was in late autumn and it was cold. My mom had sent my brother Ross, our friend Pete, and me outside while she made lunch because we were being too rowdy. Ross had forgotten his jacket but was too stubborn to go back inside and get it, so he stayed near the propane heater that my father had set up in the garage while he was doing yard work. While I was running around enjoy the afternoon in the way that toddlers do, swings and playing in the dirt, Ross and his friend Pete stayed in the garage to stay warm seeing who could stay close to the heater the longest. Apparently Ross won, because before he knew it his New York Giants jersey that our Grandfather had bought for
Once we finished our snack we went outside. Then we washed our bikes with the hose. After that we sat down and looked at the sidewalk. It’s across the creek and people go on it all the time. I like to watch people go by. There are bikers, dogs , joggers, and more. We sat and waited and watch the people go by . Finally we grabbed on our bikes and went to the path. It was fun and we went down a hill too. We did this for about an hour. But then got bored!
We walked 10 minutes to the mini golf place. We had to rent golf clubs to play. So we did. The place was crowded, but we already payed for it so we waited. When we finally hot the first hole,
It was the last Saturday in December of 1997. My brother, sister, and I were chasing after each other throughout the house. As we were running, our parents told us to come and sit down in the living room. They had to tell us something. So, we all went down stairs wondering what was going on. Once we all got down stairs, the three of us got onto the couch. Then, my mom said, “ Well…”
First, we were playing baseball, Chris hit a homerun, I didn't. Second, we cleaned out the dugout so we could ride scooters and ripsticks. We did some bottle flips Chris landed it so...
My senior year of high school I played rugby , the summer prior of my senior year was get up run two or three miles , take a shower or bath, watch T.V or read a book, and then work on speed and agility training. This continued for about two months before school started. I became the fastest and quickest player on the team. I put everything I had into rugby that summer, but rugby wasn’t very kind back.
So I went up to the house and helped my grandma make dinner. We were making Haggard taco Salad it is the best but I can’t tell you what is in it because it is a secret. when dinner was ready everyone came up and got there food I sat outside on the deck with all of my family. We enjoyed the sun set on the lake and then we all went inside for dessert we were having cheesecake with my grandma’s cherry sauce. I can’t explain the goodness of it she puts razmataz and cherries and boils it down it is lake heaven I could even eat that stuff every day. After everyone was done we all went inside and went to our rooms to go to bed but I stayed up late and watched one of my favorite shows Scorpion it is based on a true man whose name was Walter O'Brien he has the 4 highest IQ Score ever recorded and him and his team who call themselves scorpion battle worldwide threats that nobody can do. when my show was over I went to
Leading into my sophomore year of high school, band was the center of my life. Providing acceptance and a sense of purpose, I could always count on the fine art to get me through the hardest of days. Everything seemed to effortlessly go right while encompassed within the band world. I was convinced that my desires would invariably be provided for, as I was somehow the special (albeit, shy) exception. With this entitled mentality, I felt invincible going into my first serious audition.
I decided that John should drive his car to the nearest shopping mall, mainly because I did not want to use my gas. At the mall, a few friends joined us. John and I shopped for the perfect running shoe. We were both running a half-marathon later that month. Once that was accomplished, me and the guys enjoyed a post-lunch meal and talked about any ridiculous thing that entered our minds.
drunk and took him to the local bar, then got a few beers each before the
The welcoming Christmas feel, the warm glow of the lights on the trees, and the many fun times with family is what make many’s Winter break. It’s a time to chill out. During my break, I watched some late night movies, hung out with my family, and played a lot of fun games.
The entire family got together and it was always a last minute thing but no matter what was going on we all decide we would go up to County Park Lake to have family time. There would be my grandma and my Aunts and Uncles and their kids when we pulled up to the parking lot. Under the shade trees the women would be sitting trying to stay cool and the older men of the family stand around a grill they would be sitting up the charcoal pyramid to lite to start grilling the food while the kids where at the tot lot playing the equipment you could hear the laughter of the kids playing . Also the mean talking about which is the best way to grill. The women would be laughing at the guys arguing over which way was bett...
