Have you ever done something and just knew that this is what God had planned for you to do? That's the way I feel about soccer. When I was younger my parents had me do all sorts of sport like ballet, gymnastics, dance, baseball, and finally soccer. I was seven when I first stepped out on a soccer field. It was different then all the other sports I had previously played. I fell in love with the sport at a young age, and it helped that I had a natural talent for the sport. When I’m on the field playing soccer with crazy amazing athletes for teammates, all my worries go away. I invest myself in the game and time soars by me. I feel at home on the field knocking girls over, breaking ankles, and scoring some pretty spectacular goals. The best part …show more content…
A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5: 14-16, NIV). I interpret this as “Don't be like Bailey when she's playing soccer. Glorify God in all that you do and never hide your christianity.”. I really feel like Jesus is calling me out, telling me I’m not a good christian if everyone doesn't know my faith, but does he expect me to walk around saying “Hello my name is Bailey. I’m a christian and I can't wait to demolish you through the glory of God, of course.”? This is where I'm mistaken. God doesn’t expect or want you to do some big gesture before your game. He wants you to to glorify him by keeping your composure. “But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” (Matthew 6: 6, NIV). In the same way, when you glorify God, you do it quietly. You make it personal between just the two of you. You glorify God by keeping your composure and not retaliating to a bad call, which is something I need to work
I remember my dad always watching soccer news every night before going to bed. All my family loves soccer, we have this tradition that when a Mexican team plays we all get together to watch the game at my mom’s house. I think that’s what makes me love soccer as much as I do. Playing soccer also helps me to relax and to be confident when I have stress or after a long day at work. It's not just about kicking the ball or scoring
From an early age I always knew I would be playing soccer my whole life. My dad showed me the ropes of how to play and got me interested right away. By the age of three I had started playing, and to this day I have not stopped. Soccer has been a huge part of my life and I don’t know where I would be today if I never played. I met some amazing people playing soccer including my coaches who encouraged me and told me never to give up as well as my teammates who became my friends and were always there for me.
Soccer has helped me to become the person I am today. It has given me the opportunity to build relationships that I would not have made elsewhere. Playing the sport has helped me overcome my issues with anger and has made me tougher as well. I am thankful that my parents pushed me to keep playing when I was younger, because now I adore playing soccer and could not imagine
I played soccer since I was seven, as of the last few years I played at a very high level. I have represented Ohio South two times at a regional showcase, I have been invited to participate in a camp in Manchester, England and attended the camp twice. Also last Season for the Newark High School soccer team I was named first team all league and third team all central district. Soccer was the first sport I truly loved to do, I wanted to be the best. I work hours upon hours to master whatever part of the game I wanted to improve on. Soccer has taught me to have a great work ethic, and that mentality came when I was cut from the state team the first time I tried out. It was the worst thing that has ever happened to me, I was destroyed, and I thought I was not good but I knew I could do better. The next year I worked, I got bigger, stronger, faster, my soccer I.Q. was higher;therefore, overall I was a much better player. The result of that work, was that I made the team, but not only, I made the starting line up. After that I knew I could accomplish anything I put my mind to.
Scorching sun, dry air, chasing after a simple ball. The sport of soccer is an action that has caused a major influence on my identity. The simple, but thrilling sport was introduced to me when I was 6 years old, and since its introduction it has influenced me in many ways.
One incident that happened to me that change how I thought about sports was when I first started playing soccer. It all started when my mom said that I should join a sport to get me more active. It took me awhile to choose soccer at first because there were so many sports to choose from. I told my mom I wanted to play soccer. She signed me up to play for a non competitive league (GYSA) so I can learn the basics of the sport. She also told me to play I would have to maintain good grades. After hearing that i always tried my best in soccer and school.
Soccer also got me out of trouble when I was playing. My friends would invite to go out I would say “sorry I’m going to play soccer” and thank god I didn’t because they were mostly up to no good. I was a little bad and good kid but the love of the sport keep me together and made me realize many great things. I had a lot of hard times in my life that put a frown on my face and I would cry, soccer took that side of me out and put a smile right on my face. Gave me strength I needed and at the end of the day I would leave out the field with courage. I’m still scared sometimes in life on how to express myself and soccer guided me with that and showed who I am today.
While I was in high school, I joined the soccer team. There were 15 girls in a team. There were three girls, whose last name was Lepcha. Who think that they play better soccer then everybody in a team and they do play well but not good as they thought they were. They had started playing soccer for one or two years ago. There were two other girls, whose name was Sabina and Dilu. They were my best friends. My one friend Sabina had played soccer for quite long and she played well but she did not have an attitude as Lepcha did. My second friend was Dilu; she was not that good at soccer. It was her first time playing soccer just like me. I do not know other people who were on a soccer team but the one thing I know about them was that it was their
The definition of soccer: “A game played by two teams of eleven players with a round ball that may not be touched with the hands or arms during play except by the goalkeepers. The object of the game is to score goals by kicking or heading the ball into the opponent 's ' goal.” When I think about the thing I’m most passionate about, soccer pops into my head right away. Soccer represents more than just a game to me. The sport gives me an outlet distract me from the real world, it taught me to overcome a battle that shaped my character, and my teammates bring out the best in me.
Soccer has always been a part of my life since I was four years old, it has also been in my family for a very long time. My father played soccer all his life and also in college, the same thing goes for my sister she also played in college. So soccer is in my blood and because of that reason and because I have been playing since I was four years old it has taught me some very important lessons that will benefit me greatly through the rest of my life.
I was always taught that soccer was to be about the love of the game and that it should be fun. Unfortunately, I faced many obstacles that I needed to overcome before I could truly love the game for what it was worth. I grew and continued to love the game, knowing little at the time of the obstacles I would be faced with, and would need to overcome. My struggles with soccer began early in my life. I was an average player, who had a drive to succeed and go far.
Introduction Have you ever wanted something so bad that you couldn’t go a day without thinking about it? I have. Since elementary school, one of my truest passions has been soccer. Growing up all would ever do is watch professional soccer games on TV and imagine myself being in the stands with other fans cheering on my favorite team. Every moment of free time rain or shine, I would be outside at the nearest park and field playing until the sun went down.
Soccer has been a very important part of my life since the first day I kicked a ball as it is my escape from reality and is the way I cope with difficult situations in life. Soccer is a sport that requires endless amounts of dedication and practice in order to be successful. Because of this, I believe that I have become a stronger person that does not give up easily and strives
In many occasions and instances where either religion or politics have filed to foster national unity and cohesion, soccer has succeeded tremendously. In fact, more often than not, instances of which religion and politics have instigated violence, soccer has been one of the most used avenues to bring the people back together. More so, there isn’t a single instance in history that soccer instigated bloody wars and violence in a certain state. As a means and mechanism of avoidance of eruptions of political divisions with the potential of erupting to become full-blown civil wars, international bodies such as the United Nations have been at the forefront of using soccer as a mechanism of integrating the people and thus fostering national unity
The World’s Most BEAUTIFUL Sport Passion plays a huge role in my life. I have always been fascinated in the soccer world. I played as a young boy, since I could remember. I had begged and begged my parents to let me join a soccer team. Until one day, I was in 4th grade and had walked out of my classroom after being picked up by mom and had seen a couple of kids my age practicing.
