Many pivotal moments appear in a human beings life to change the way that individual thinks. All human experiences shape the way a person becomes. The death of my 20 year old second cousin changed my perspective on life. It was not because he was close to me or had a huge impact on my life, but because such a young life ended so suddenly. I got to experience how that impacted and even changed certain people. I came to the realization that all those stories on the news actually happen to real life people. These stories seem so unimaginable, but from that point on, I realized that anything can happen to anyone in the simple blink of an eye. I learned that although every human envisions certain things to occur in their lifetime, many aspects cannot
remain in one’s control. I began to value the importance of living life to the fullest and valuing the surrounding people in one’s life. It seems very cliche and personally I used to look at quotes like this and think of them as very cliche until I got to experience something that made me think this way. These quotes simply state the truth. The death of my cousin really just made me think; it made me realize that so many positive things exist in my life right now that cannot be taken for granted. So much was taken away from such a young life and this occurrence changed the way I live my life and the choices I make. This death caused a lot of mourning and sorrow, but when I am feeling ungrateful, I look at it as something that can change my mind positively
The things that impact you can be bad or good, depending on your situation and how severe they were to you personally. I’ve been through many hardships and great things. Things like, being beaten as a child, raped, enduring racism, placed into the system and taken back out after a year or so, dropped out of college, overall failed at life so far; Went to a job where I worked hard, learned things about life, working hard, and that you can get more out of life if you want it, you can get more, you can be more, that there is an upside to every bad situation, and that other people are just that, real people. These things that have happened to me personally have shaped a lot of my personality and my outlook on life. Things that make you realize that other people go through events and have issues I believe are the things that make you an adult. This event for me was when I was working at EPB and really went through life every day with people of so many different ages and seeing the very real things that trouble them and let them enjoy things. This comradery as well as a want for everyone around you to be better and do better made me realize that everyone is going through the constant struggle I was. It wasn’t anything incredible or anything that made me realize it, but it changes everything on how you look at things and how you take in how other people act. I believe that
There are various changes that can occur in an individual’s life. Some variations are very little and would not affect your lifecycle very greatly. Nevertheless, other events could be very significant and could change a person’s entire life, such as marrying, giving birth to the baby, or losing someone special. The important event that transformed my life is coming to the United States of America to get education and to study. When I first arrived in this country, I comprehended that an incredible change would happen in my life both mentally and physically. After living more than one year in the United States, I definitely believe that moving to the United States is an advantageous change for me. This change offers me an opportunity to live a healthy lifestyle as well as a new way of thinking that are significant for me and the most importantly it provided me a better education in a simple way.
Every single person experiences moments that pivot the way they interpret every day occurrences in life. Whether these experiences are triumphant or devastating, our perspectives and the way we morally grow are influenced as these pivotal moments avail their importance over time. I never truly thought about pivotal moments in my life until my ninth grade literacy class’ first unit. Some of the most impacting moments in my life occurred only in the past couple years, and when I’m suppose to write about how they have affected my perspective and what my moral growth is from them, what if I don’t know yet? What if someone
Everyone has a special event that determines our life journey. This event can give us identity, happiness or even pain and sadness. The special event that changed my life was deciding to play basketball because basketball helped me find peace, happiness and gave me identity. When I was ten years old my grandfather succumbed to cancer. His death created hatred inside of me.
Everyone has a story, a pivotal moment in their life that started to mold them into the person they are today and may even continue to mold you to the person that you will become, I just had mine a little bit earlier than others. When I was three years old my brother became a burn survivor. It may seem too early for me to remember, but I could never forget that day. Since then, I have grown, matured and realized that what my family and I went through has been something of a benefit to be and an experience that has helped me in deciding what I want to do with the rest of my life.
Life events can have a major effect on a person’s life. This can affect on who a person may or may not become in the future. The importance of life from all the short stories that have been read all shape into the person that someone can become. Major life events that someone has went through in the past can shape into who a person will become in the future. Good past events can lead to a nice and happy person. Bad past events can lead to a mean and upset person.
A major life event is bound to have a strong impact on our person, hence the “major” part. These major life events can change how we deal with society and even change the way we once perceived ourselves as part of society. A major life event that I went through was the death of a close friend while we were at a social event. I was a teenager at the time and did not make the best decisions during high school. This happened to be one of them. It was a Friday and my friends and I had decided that we would skip school for the day and head out towards Kern River, skipping one day did not seem like such a big deal at the time. So we headed up towards an area where we could cliff jump into the river. Despite our community’s firm advocacy on staying
There is a point in everyone’s life where they go through an event that impacts their life in a tremendous way. Sometimes it only happens once, some experience it later in life and some might experience multiple “awakenings”. I personally have gone through an event that impacted my life and how I view life; however, I did not realize the impression it had on my out look on life when it happened. Almost two months later I understood how it affected me. All throughout my high school I was active in my church’s youth group: where I traveled to other countries, exposed to Godly leaders and a loving community.
Life is full of defining moments that can impact a life negatively or positively. The consequences to actions are never known in the beginning but always play out in the end. My life as well as everyone else’s can be summed up to a series of decisions, both good and bad, that effected our lives and the lives around us. My choices in particular have not had life changing or drastic results, however, there is one decision that has seemingly changed my view on the world for the better.
An experience that helped shape my life is the 2010 earthquake in Haiti. When I was 9 years old, on January 12 2010, an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.0 hit my country. This was the most life changing experience that happened to me. I was at home doing my homework, when I felt the ground start to shake. My mother and I, were the only ones home. When the stuff and the walls started shaking my mother and I began running for cover. The ground kept trembling and we were scared. Within a couple of seconds we were on the ground. I lived right in front of a university that was multiple stories high, Which resulted in most of their debris falling over unto my house. That was the last time I saw my mom. I was under the debris of my house screaming
Crack! The ball soared off the bat with indescribable speed. It gradually increased its height until finally, it reached the fence. The crowd nervously waiting for this could change the outcome of the game. As the umpire rotates his index in a circular rotation immediately, I know I have accomplished my goal. I run the bases with a feeling of pride and accomplishment rising up. When I reached the dugout I was overwhelmed by the number of teammates pouring onto me as I lay there on the ground. Everyone was going wild! My confidence, flourished as my family congratulates me. As I look back now, three of the most significant changes to who I am are that it influenced me to train so that I would be the best I could possibly be, that I developed
"Don't give up! God has a plan for you" the words i used to hear every now and then. I dont believe it befor until i saw the gift that God gave to us. it is the turning point in my life.
There have been tons of things that I have learned and been taught in my life, by a number of people such as family, teachers, or even friends on occasion. The things they taught me vary from math and other related subjects to just some truly simple yet meaningful life lessons. However, there is nothing quite as unique, quite as special as a person teaching themselves a life lesson. It really is an amazing accomplishment for a person to teach themselves something. It is not quite as simple as another person teaching them something because it is not just the transferring of information from one person to another. The person instead has to start from scratch and process the information they have in their mind in order to come up with a new thought
Ever since I was little I’ve been what you would call a “high achieving” kid. I did well in school, I did well in sports and I did well in my community. I was always the first one to class, and the last one to leave the field. I was the kid that all my friends’ parents compared their children to. I was the kid with a room full of trophies and awards. In my mind, the worst possible thing I could do was disappoint the people around me. In elementary school I was involved in every club imaginable. I was in the band, I played in the orchestra, I sang solos for chorus, I was in the math club, I was president of student council, I played travel soccer, I was involved in every activity possible, and I excelled in all of them. This
I never really thought about where my life was going. I always believed life took me where I wanted to go, I never thought that I was the one who took myself were I wanted to go. Once I entered high school I changed the way I thought. This is why I chose to go to college. I believe that college will give me the keys to unlock the doors of life. This way I can choose for myself where I go instead of someone choosing for me.
