It was a warm summer day when I decided to go camping with my brother. We went on a Saturday afternoon and arrived to our camping spot around three o’clock. When we arrived, we quickly gathered our supplies and sat up the campsite. Once we were done unpacking our gear, we decided that we were going fishing. That's when it all started. We started walking down the hill to go fishing. When we arrived to the pond we found an ore for our boat. Then, we pushed the boat into the water and started fishing. Once we had found a good spot, we dropped the anchor. I casted and caught a bluegill right away. I fished for a while and only caught a couple of bluegill so I decided to use my bait caster instead of my ultralight. On my first cast, I caught a two pound bass. …show more content…
I untied the boat and my brother ored us back to shore. When we arrived, it started to sprinkle and we hadn't even started a fire to cook our fish over. We gathered a bunch of dead sticks and snached cardboard from the caboose. We had the fire roaring with flames in a matter of seconds. My brother cleaned the fish and would hand me the meat to cook as he was still cleaning the fish. I grabbed the crisco and some seafood seasoning to throw in the mix. Once the fish were cooked, we ate them and realized that it wasn enough to fill us up. I was prepared though and pulled out a freeze dried meal. My brother started boiling the water that we needed for the meal while I prepared it. When the water was done, we poured it into the meal bag and waited fifteen minutes for it to work its magic. The meal was sesame chicken and I personally thought that it was better than some restaurants. When we were done eating, it started to pour on us and we decided we weren't going to stay the night. That's when we decided we were going back to fishing, and so we
I rushed out to the truck as the horn blared. I threw my things into the truck and we went off towards the woods. I had to talk to Kevin about where the deer come from when i am sitting in the stand. He told me everything I needed to know about the place less than 10 minutes in the hot and humid truck. Well let's go back to see what led to this.
Since this first encounter I have caught lots of these magnificent fish and as the years go by they seem to keep getting bigger and bigger. I have developed several baits and presentations that help me to catch these fish and I would like to share them with you.
My uncle and I started getting everything setup so we could start fishing. I grabbed my fishing rod, placed the bait on the hook, unfolded my chair, and waited for a fish. Tim saw me sitting by myself so he walked over to the dock to talk to me about some stuff; he started telling me about his most prized/special catfish, the albino catfish. The albino catfish lived
It was an exciting day for me and I didn’t even know what was going to happen. My grandpa came to my house and then he told my brother Luke and I that he was going to take us on a fishing trip to Canada with his friend. We were so excited when he told us I told Grandpa, “This will be the best summer vacation ever!” After he told us we went and got gear like fishing poles, rain suites and food. When we got to the house the morning we were leaving, he showed us a picture of the cabin we would be staying in for the week. It took us a while to pack the car we all packed some of the same foods.
It was a bright sunny day and the lake looked like glass, perfect to go water skiing. My dad, brother, and I decided to go get the boat ready for our trip. We had to get the sunscreen, refreshments, and water skis. Once we all got in the boat, we had to untie the ropes that were tied to the boat and the dock and lead the boat out of the dock without it colliding into the dock..
“Come on, “ my counselor Emily screamed from shore. The quick rapids made it very difficult to dig our paddles into the river. My cabin was stopping to eat lunch on our Tuesday canoeing trip. On Saturday, we had traveled down to Brownstown, Indiana for a week full of friends, fun, and God. My church stayed at a retreat center called Pyoca. Every year on Tuesday, we would go on a canoeing or rafting trip depending on the water levels. Emily, Annabelle, my canoeing partner, and I sat along the sand bank waiting for other canoes to come in. Many other groups slowly went by, while we patiently waited for other groups to come in. I was so hungry, I couldn’t wait. Canoeing had zapped all of my energy, and had made me really hungry. I began to quickly wade out into the river, so I could help the other canoes come in faster. Someone screamed, “Be careful” from the bank. Nate Epple, a counselor of
I still remember the day as if it were yesterday, the day I reeled in my first yellowfin tuna. The morning started off as any other morning, wake up, shower, and dress but this day I ended up on a boat destined to head for the oil rigs off the coast of Louisiana. It was a long and cold ride out to the rigs, about one and a half hours of hitting waves as we all cuddled up at the stern.
Many people see hunting and fishing as the slaughtering of innocent animals for no reason other than sport and fun. However, the truth is, hunting and fishing are beneficial to people, environments, and the economy. Hunting and fishing are beneficial to the economy because they cause a major economic impact. Hunting and fishing are beneficial to environments and people because they reduce damages done by wildlife overcrowding. Hunting and fishing are also beneficial to people because they provide a healthy, affordable source of food.
It was in July, and we wanted to go camping. I asked my dad if we could go up to our family's cabin in Elk Springs, which is near Montrose. He agreed, so Chase, Tyler and I, all sixteen years old, packed our stuff and were ready to go camping. With excitement, we jumped into Chase's truck, and took off to the woods.
I went to bed feeling like I learned nothing, but I was hopeful. The next day we went out again early in the morning and I was actually getting up but I kept falling over and I was really happy that I was finally able to stand up. After my turn I watched John crush it on the water he was doing 180's, 360's, and even jumping really high.
The adventure began with a cold winter morning in florid, Uncle Bob and I decided to head out to his secret spot, the dive site was roughly 100ft and a Spanish Galleon laid rest. My dad dropped me off at the boat dock where I met up with Uncle Bob. We did a gear check to make sure we had everything to complete our dive. After the gear check, we headed out, after a couple
Thankfully, the waters were much calmer here. As Papa lowered the anchor, I helped Nana get the fishing poles all set up. I watched as they attatched the bait to the ends of each pole. The fishing poles were still too heavy for me, so I had to rest it against the side of the boat as I sat in my small folding chair. Nana caught the first fish.
It was June 6th, 2013. Our family set off for a fishing trip in the crystal blue waters of the South Miami Sea. We had heard reports of a hurricane coming in from the north, but dad decided they were just rumors; who could blame him? The sky was as clear as could be and not a single cloud to be seen. A gentle, cool breeze blew in from the south blowing my hair over my eyes. My little brother Adrian swiped my hair back behind my ears; “
About three miles down the river we spot the tip of a canoe just above water. We investigated and concluded it was ours. The canoe was submerged underwater so we had to use rope and a tree to get it out. We got in our canoe and eventually found our paddles. The people at our campsite fished all the bags out of the river as they passed.
I decided to go to Wasabi in Edwardsville with my friend, Emily. I chose Wasabi because it was the only sushi place that I knew that was in Edwardsville. We went on a Friday night after I got off of work. As we were driving there, I was nervous just because I have never tried sushi before and i’ve heard mixed reviews about it. Although
