Sometimes, we learn the hard way. Maui. Tropical, beautiful, fantastic weather. The bad thing? Waking up at 3am at bordering the plane at 7:30. “Carson I get the window seat on the way there” Complained Cameron. “No, Mom said I get it on the way there and you get it on the way back.” I said confidently. As we both argued back and forward, I let him have the window seat. When we boarded the plane we realized a small problem.. we have seats in the middle of the plane. Fast forward 4 hours iI had nothing to do for those 4 hours but sleep. “We will be landing in about forty-five minutes, Mahalo.” announced the flight attendant Those 45 minutes felt like forever, and about fifteen minutes into those forty-five minutes the plane started to rock …show more content…
We walked out of our condo to the left and we saw something interesting, a banana tree, right outside our condo. Anyways we walked up the steps across the parking lot onto the sidewalk and into the snorkel shop. My dad signed all the papers we tried on the snorkel gear, learned how to clean them and how to put them on. We went back to the condo and had everyone try on the snorkel stuff and we were all tired so we just …show more content…
We all ate breakfast at the table outside on our little porch of the condo. After we were done eating we went back inside and got ready for the rest of the day. I really wanted to go snorkeling and see all the turtles and fish so my dad and I did so, but my brother and mom decided not to go snorkeling for some reason, psh crazy people. Right as we got into the water which took some time for me because of the rocks, I was astonished, the water was clear as day and extremely warm compared to the beaches in Santa Cruz. I saw at least 3 turtles just from right where I got in and as scared as I was I just calmly swam over to them and I saw them eating algae off the rocks and it was sort of weird. I saw a lot of fish and my dad and I saw this one fish and it was rainbow, like actually all the colors of the rainbow on it. We only saw one where we were so whenever we saw the fish, it was very cool. My ears started to hurt so I got out and a minute later my dad did too. We got our stuff and we walked up to the condo and got towels and put our stuff back into the bags. My mom and brother were all ready and wanted to go to a beach in Lahaina so we got dried off and just got straight into the car. This is where the bad stuff started to
Out of the 12 months of the year, students basically only have about two months to have fun and not worry about school. As a teenager, you do things without predicting the outcome. We tend to not always listen to our parents and sometimes end up in terrible situations.
I never predicted this beautiful trip ending up as a nightmare in my existence. I drove for approximately 40 minutes and my partner shared the driving for an additional 40 minutes. We were driving my friend mom’s brand new Toyota Camry XLE; one of the most comfortable cars I had ever been in. We enjoyed the elongated ride with new hit music, and air conditioning set to an exact temperature that met our necessities. On the way to the beach some doubts about going there started to circle around our minds, but the fact that we were about half way there made them a...
Camping is a fun activity for friends and family, that’s the time where they share their memories, and also make new ones. On the other hand, camping is when people are trying to stay off the rain, and wild animals form attacking them. That’s when camping is a time their lives depends on it. The article “Camping for their lives” by Scott Bransford talk about small and big cities that is over populated with homeless citizens. The article talks about what is happening in the scene, and what they have to face each and everyday order to survive.
As my family and I walked into the plane, we were excited. The plane ride to jamaica stopped in L.A. and, after that, it went to jamaica. When we arrived in Jamaica it was really hot, but it was wet. I immediately took off my sweater I was wearing on the plane. We took a bus to our hotel. Then we started swimming in the water park. Every night there was a show in the main stage. The next day we woke up early to go to chukka. It was awesome. We saw a great house, rode on horses, and did a challenge course. After we came back from Chukka, we went to the water park and swimming pool at the hotel. Then we ate at fresh, which we went most of the time. The next day we woke up earlier to go to the dolphin cove. The bus was an hour late, but the wait
The anticipation of this day had been building up for some time over that last few months, and now it was upon me at last. I didn’t feel the same excitement I had leading up to this moment, I even kind of grumbled to myself about how I wished the bus was bigger so that I would be more comfortable. We all had our assigned seats, but no one seemed to be where they were supposed to be. The anxiousness of getting to Colorado was causing a great deal of confusion, chaos, and stress. The noise of everyone carrying on and yelling could be compared to the way a screaming crowed sounds at an AC/DC concert.
In hiking, as in life, there are choices between success and pain, pride and safety; this is the story of one such choice. Last summer I participated in the Rayado program at Philmont Scout Ranch. The eighth day of the trek was my crew’s greatest challenge: Super Black Death, a hike of seven peaks in one day.
"Hey, be careful and don't do anything stupid," my dad said to me right before I hopped into Chase Miller's dark blue Chevy S-10 with a camper shell on the back. I looked at Chase and Tyler Becker and said, "Let's go camping." As Chase pushed down the gas pedal, a big cloud of black smoke shot out of the back of the truck and the smell of burning motor oil filled the cab.
The story begins in the summer of 1984. My ROTC group and I had decided to take a Boundary Water canoeing trip through upper Minnesota. When I say upper Minnesota, it means that we are right on the border of Canada, and even though it’s summer it’s still cold. There were ten people on this trip eight boys and two girls.
bad as I expected it to be. The queue seemed to flow by. Like fish in
Finally my dad told me if I wanted to go fishing with him and my brother. So, I happily got up huge my dad and said yes dad I want to go, I went in my room got dressed and we went on our way to the beach to fish and have a nice time together. My brother told me that he understands me because I am always with my handsome dad.
I almost fell off a cliff on the side of a mountain. I was in Pitkin, Colorado, on a camping trip during the summer of 2009. The trees were green, the air was fresh so were the lakes, rivers, and ponds were stocked with fish and wildlife was everywhere. Usually, on these camping trips, I would be accompanied by a large number of people. However, this time, it was just my parents, my three brothers, and my two sisters. I was almost 12 years old at the time and having three older brothers made me very competitive. Naturally, when my family decided to climb one of the mountain’s which were around us, I wanted to be the first one to reach its peak.
There were different types of fish all around me. We were looking for a yellow tang. After I0 minutes of searching, we finally found the yellow tang. As we were swimming along we found an eel hiding in the coral. As the eel slithered up to me, I started to panic.
I awoke to the sun piercing through the screen of my tent while stretching my arms out wide to nudge my friend Alicia to wake up. “Finally!” I said to Alicia, the countdown is over. As I unzip the screen door and we climb out of our tent, I’m embraced with the aroma of campfire burritos that Alicia’s mom Nancy was preparing for us on her gargantuan skillet. While we wait for our breakfast to be finished, me and Alicia, as we do every morning, head to the front convenient store for our morning french vanilla cappuccino. On our walk back to the campsite we always take a short stroll along the lake shore to admire the incandescent sun as it shines over the gleaming dark blue water. This has become a tradition that we do every morning together
We went to a picnic table and ate our ice cream. The ice cream stand wasn’t very busy today. After that, we started walking on the beach. The sand was warm against my feet, the sun must have been out earlier today. It was a cool windy day so the waves were really high.
