Personal Narrative: My Trip To Disney World

Honestly I could bore you with a story of my trip to Disney World, but I thought I would speak of someone who is dear to my heart. As a child, I lived states away from my brothers. Well technically speaking, 13 hours and almost 900 miles apart. I maybe saw them twice a year and we never were close as children. As teenagers we decided we should have a relationship, so whether it was Myspace, Facebook, texting, or anything else we’d try to talk at least once a week. Out of five brothers, I’ve always been closest to my eldest brother Ryan. He’s 6 years older than me, but we have mostly always gotten along. I was thrilled, though I could not be there for his homecoming. Ryan would text me and call me every chance he had to check in on me, just to make sure my day things were going well and I was happy. I’d get random phone calls for no reason at all that lasted hours, they only consisted of us goofing off like always. I loved those phone calls. He enjoyed his time home with family and friends, but after a while he wanted to be back doing what he did best, protecting our country. Sure enough he signed to tour again in 2012. Ryan was proud of the man he became because of the army; once lost he had now found his way, the way of an American soldier. After 2 years in the army he still loved his job. A few weeks went by and he was shipped out again. Ryan was excited, though he confided to me that something felt wrong and he was scared. I reassured him everything was going fine, he’d be home soon, he’d come visit and we could be lazy together. Weeks turned into months and he was still in Afghanistan working rigorously to protect home. We didn’t talk much on this deployment, I didn’t take it to heart I knew he was busy. I was honored when I got a message from him on my birthday; I knew he was extremely busy. He and I talked generally for a few minutes and he had to go. He logged off before he could read my last
