I currently live in Englewood, which is a suburb of Dayton, Ohio. I have lived here most of my life, and I absolutely wouldn’t trade it for anything! Englewood is probably best known for its Arts and Crafts festival in August. Though it is a small event of maybe 150 vendors, it always seems to bring the community together. Despite the heat, children are chasing each other, dogs are enjoying a walk in the woods, and everyone seems to run into old classmates or neighbors. Several groups perform at the festival, acts from a military band to the Northmont High School marching band allows for the visitors to enjoy the day in our small town. Northmont High School has had several notable feats, such as State Championship titles in Boys’ Soccer, Boys’

In the following years, football had been a big part in John’s life. One part of his football career often overlooked is his high school career. At Oak Creek high school, John won the all-state defensive end award for his senior year. High school was not all fun and games though as John had
The team has become united and they continue to win their way through. They even had their own special warm up before the games started. The school also has become more united after the winning streak of the football players.
El Paso, Texas is a relatively large city with a small town attitude. It is one of those cities that grows on you. I embrace the laid back lifestyle and bi-cultural environment - it’s given me an opportunity to develop a unique bicultural identity that influences my motivation to succeed. Especially, being the daughter of an immigrant that upholds Mexican culture. The majority of the population is hispanic, which gave me the sense of mexican traditions that I would share with my family in Mexico. Growing up bilingual ironically provided me comfort in the community. Also, the efforts of the community are being made to modernize and improve the city.

I grew up in Hemet, California in a neighborhood filled with friends that I grew up with. I remembered a lot about my home that I grew up in mostly because I remember details better than most people. I may remember details, but I love looking back on memories I had with my family and friends.

Growing up in New Jersey is not what it is stereotyped to be. When I tell people I'm from New Jersey, they think of filth and the all-too-famous MTV hit, Jersey Shore. The misconception of atmosphere of where I'm from is absurd. Where I'm from is the heart of New Jersey's beauty, Shamong, New Jersey.
Other community events that take place only in summer time are: Centennial Village and Greeley Stampede. Centennial Village, a museum village where the kids could experience what it would be like to live in Greeley in the late 19th century. There are old buildings such as houses, an old church and a one-room school house, even a small train station. Inside of these buildings are old artifacts from that period. Greeley Stampede is a big 4th of July celebration event that features carnival rides, pie-contest, rodeo, foods, and free admission of stage
Joyous shouts, quick and lengthy movements, the dazzling colorful fabrics, men, and women of all shapes and sizes, and the cheers and dancing to music that is fitting of the carnival occasion. It is a bright setting that warmly welcomes all peering eyes. It is a bountiful experience of peace and freedom that appeals as a small community apart from the world. In the
The arts have been known to be good community generators. Many arts advocacy groups are a part of the development of healthy engaged neighborhoods. There are a wide range of ways for which art can engage communities. The Art festival is a temporary approach with long lasting value. A one or two day can range from music festivals, performances, art fairs, participatory arts festivals, and so on. Focusing on a few examples of participatory and interactive arts festivals, and how they offer a multiple ways for communities to build strong social connections in communities. In Tom Borrup’s Book, The Creative Community Builder’s Handbook, he identifies four ways in which arts and
I live on the north side of Columbus, Ohio. Four minutes away from Westerville. It 's a pretty nice neighborhood not a lot of crime. It 's a very convenient place to live. It 's close to the mall for when I want to go shopping or hang out with friends. It 's very close to lots of fast food restaurants. Its thirteen minutes away from my friend 's house. Its close to my barbershop, my mom 's job, and supermarkets. Im lucky to live in such a convenient neighborhood, I know some people who aren 't as fortunate and have to live in a one floor apartment next to a scary alley when it turns dark. They live in a neighborhood that has only a few fun things to do. They have a park, two pools, a mall, and a place to do Parkour near the church. .I can describe another neighborhood I would like to live in though. Maybe a neighborhood where I can walk down the street to go play
I awake in the city of horns and motor vehicles. I glance toward the sunrise to find it blocked by a building. I slowly flop myself out of bed and into the shower. I wash off all the misery from my sleep in that dreadful bed, I wallow into my clothes and roll down the stairs to breakfast. This is always a soothing meal, but it could never replenish the pain of living in the city. Leaving my apartment, I have arrived at the elevator to find it closed, I live on the 36th floor, now walking down the stairs and out the front doors to try and grab a cab. I am waving it down as one pulls over to me, I open the door and a man, dressed in a suit, steals my cab. I rush to find another one, but they all seem to be full. At last, I have found one, coming straight to me. The cab pulls to the curb and I open the door to find the driver speaking another language. At this point I realized it has been gonna be a long day.
My family member attended South High School in Columbus Ohio. She graduated in a class of over 300. During the late 60 's, early 70 's the school had an established sports program. Being a relatively large school there were a wealth of athletic talent available as well as support for multiple programs.
Where I live is one of the greatest neighborhoods in the city to live in; however it does have its draw backs. Importantly it has nearly everything a resident might want, beautiful picturesque scenery, proximity to shopping, and many of the cultural centers. Nevertheless the roads can be some of the most congested in town, and the streets are not safe to walk late at night.
