As a young teenager I used to live in Greeley for 5 years after I moved there from a small town that I hated in Oklahoma where I grew up. I went to school and got my first job there as a teacher aide. I have a cousin whose family still lives there. There are many advantages to living in Greeley for good environment, recreations, and schooling. Just east of the mountain range, Colorado Front Range is Greeley – about 15 miles east of the Highway I-25 which runs north and south linking Cheyenne, Wyoming through Fort Collins, Denver, Colorado Springs and Pueblo. Greeley is in the county seat of Weld County and has more than 75,000 people, approximately. It has two small towns, Evans and Garden City. It is located on the Highway 34 which runs from the mountains via Estes Park out to the eastern plains. It has an easy access to the Denver International Airport with its blue mustang, mountains and plains. Greeley has a good environment with the loveliest and plentiful parks in any city I’ve visited. In the past, there were four parks named Bittersweet, Cottonwood, Glenmore and Island Grove but today there has over 25 parks within the city limits from skate parks to open space parks. All of them are gorgeous landscapes and filled with many different kinds of …show more content…
Other community events that take place only in summer time are: Centennial Village and Greeley Stampede. Centennial Village, a museum village where the kids could experience what it would be like to live in Greeley in the late 19th century. There are old buildings such as houses, an old church and a one-room school house, even a small train station. Inside of these buildings are old artifacts from that period. Greeley Stampede is a big 4th of July celebration event that features carnival rides, pie-contest, rodeo, foods, and free admission of stage
One great reason to live in Pigeon Forge would be the fact that it is a tourist town. Living in a tourist town means there are plenty of things to do for fun. Both Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg
After you have had your fill at the Pancake Pantry, consider heading over to Camp Thunder Fun Center. Camp Thunder Fun Center is located right across the street from Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies, where you can ride go-karts at speeds up to twenty-five miles per hour on an outdoor track. "Ride till your hearts content," says Camp Thunder Fun Center, but not in the rain as that is a recipe for certain disaster. There is no doubt that you will find all sorts of fun and thrilling adventures at Camp Thunder Fun Center.
The city also offers some live entertainment. The Classic Country Theater has a tribute to Elvis and a music show that concentrates on the 50’s through the 80’s (http://www.classiccountrytheater.com). Sweet Fanny Adams Theater offers live comedy shows. It is located on the main strip of Gatlinburg and has two new shows each year. I would highly suggest Sweet...
With this in mind, Chicago is a wonderful place to visit and live, however it does have it light and dark side. Millions of people visited Chicago for it cultural events, annual festivals, to walk, jog, or ride a bike along the lakefront. Visit the Planetarium, museums, Art Institute or ride up to the 103rd floor of Willis Tower. Take in a movie go shopping down Michigan Ave, or State Street. Nevertheless, be careful of the dangers hidden in some of the neighborhoods in Chicago.
I grew up on a small farm just east of Williston, ND, which is located on the far western side of the state. This area of North Dakota is well-known for its beautiful badlands and rolling hills of buffalo grass. Most popular, is the great Lake Sakakawea with its luscious landscapes and sandy beaches of plenty. Recreational areas around the lake are unlimited and always welcoming.
Fair in Texas that comes to Dallas every fall. I haven’t been since I was very
It has been said that the grass is always greener on the other side. Being excited about the newness and challenges of a new place may not enable it to stay green for a lifetime, but the new place is a great place to spend the next four years. So even though I lived my whole high school life in one city where there were no actual problems, it still was time for me to move where there were new experiences.
Growing up in Apple Valley is an indelible experience not too many people go through. Every time I say I’m from Apple Valley people always don’t know where Apple Valley is. I usually say that it is off the Interstate 15 freeway, like you are heading to Las Vegas, right next to Victorville. Then they finally realized that they have heard of Apple Valley. It is very indecipherable to say exactly where Apple Valley is. People constantly think that Apple Valley is simply a big desert and there are only poor quality people who live there. The truth is Apple Valley is a very beautiful place to live.
But aside from these few well-known parks, there are also several other smaller parks in the city. In fact, the information leaflet for the Kasseler Garten Kultur festival brags of the seventy-one thousand trees in the urban areas of the city. So then, it is only natural that a city with a population so proud of their outdoor spaces would host an outdoor festival with plenty of activities available to be able to fully enjoy the great outdoors. This is especially true when considering that spending time outdoors with family and friends in the summer months is a very popular German pastime. The Kasseler Garten Kultur festival took place entirely outdoors, with plenty of activities for groups to partake in, such as a bike ride, playing volleyball and basketball, and even dance workshops. While this was not a preconception I had before starting my German year abroad, it is certainly one that I have come to see all around me now that the weather is
If you were going to Utah, the Olympic Park would definitely be somewhere you would want to stop and visit. It has the world’s highest altitude ski jumps and the fastest sliding track. The park also has bobsleds that you can still ride in today. The bobsleds travel up to 70 miles per hour with 4 G's of force. When visiting the Olympic Park you can get a guided tour of the museum or you ca...
I grew up in Desert Hot Springs and went to school there until the first grade. The school I attend there was Bubbling Wells Elementary School. Then I moved to Cathedral City and attended Sunny Sands Elementary School 2 -5 grade. I promoted and went to James Workman Middle School. And now I'm in my 2nd year of high school at Rancho Mirage. One bad experience I had in an English class was a teacher who didn't know how to do her
I am living in Flagstaff and loving my life! I work in a research lab as a technician and a manager during the day and go to local community events at night. When the weather is right my friends and I go play in the snow. I get to give back to my NAU and Flagstaff community with my volunteer time and it has become my social circle. I worked in the MGGen laboratory during my time at NAU and even got published in a science journal! My work loves me and I help hire and train undergraduate students from NAU, since that was my own path. I loved my time at NAU and ended up getting my bachelors in Microbiology and minored in History. I even stayed and got my masters there. The only extended time I have left was for studying abroad in Canada. I have a lot of family up there and I also met some great friends there. I travel back there every two years to visit.
When travelling to London, often travellers plan other trips across Europe. London is very strategically located for travelling across Europe. This often leads to airport transfers such as from Heathrow to Gatwick which is the other airport in London. The most popular way to go from Gatwick from is via coaches and shuttles which are operational 24 hours and 7 days.
So whether it is the crazy, energized, stress-filled life of living in the city you prefer or the laid-back, relaxed way of life the country has to offer, both have their advantages. The choice is dependent on what is important to each individual. I have many fond memories of living in the city during the first part of my life; however, it is the move to the countryside that has had more of an impact on my life. Industrial employment opportunities were greater in the city and extracurricular activities were in abundance, nonetheless, I prefer to treasure the slower paced life in the country, the kindness of friends and neighbors I have here, and the down-home flavor of rural living.
In Flagstaff I have and will experience a lot of new things that did not experience from living in Phoenix. The first thing is the small town surroundings, this is a lot different from living in phoenix most of my life. So far it seems that everyone around here is very friendly and everyone is a lot more laid back. Also the surroundings are a lot different from the desert of phoenix. No longer are there saguaro cactuses and dirt everywhere, now there are pine trees and green grass. The abundance of green makes flagstaff a lot prettier then the desert. I have never lived in an area where it snows in the winter, the Flagstaff winters will also be a new experience for me. These are the great new experiences I will have by living in Flagstaff for the next 4 years.
