When I was a little girl my Grandfather, who we called Peepaw, had a beautiful log cabin nestled in the mountains of Ellijay, Georgia. It was the perfect ideal getaway, and this was where our family spent the majority of our time together. Even though it was not home it always felt like it when you were there. To me, it was such a beautiful and peaceful place. My Grandfather's cabin was filled with joy, serenity, love, and good memories, in an otherwise fast pace world. The location and scenery of the cabin was absolutely perfect. It was in such a quiet area that was so peaceful, but yet so full of the noises of nature. The city of Ellijay is located in Gilmer County. Gilmer County is known as the "Apple Capital of Georgia", being known for this, the city holds an annual apple festival every year during the fall. Driving from our home in Calhoun, Georgia to Ellijay was a short drive, but the anticipation of seeing and spending time with …show more content…
While the children played, the adults were either gathered on the screened in porch or large wrap around porch. As you walked into the cabin the distinct smell of cedar and the smell of the wood burning in the fireplace was very warm and welcoming. The kitchen, dining, and living room was an open area to accommodate our large family. Peepaw's cabin was three thousand square feet. Along with the large open area, it had three bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms'. For myself and the other grandchildren our favorite area in the cabin was the four large upstairs closets. Peepaw designed these closets with us in mind; they were deep and wide with slanted ceilings. Six or more grandchildren could comfortably sleep in each closet. Even though he wanted to make sure we all had a place to sleep, we also spent time playing, laughing, and hiding from adults there. In these closets a lot of memories were

This splendid Everton cabin has 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, and enough room to comfortably accommodate 4 guests. Gorgeous views surround the property, giving you the peace and tranquility you’ve been desperately searching for.
My cabin is an old shed that I had rebuilt, it was only small but I got it made into a 3 bedroom cabin with a kitchen and a living room, with a propane stove and propane fridge, and a wood burner for heat. The size is 28 feet long and 24 feet wide. The reason I built it so big was because at the time I had kids but they have grown up and gone now.
Through the duration of this adventure you are given exceptional commendations. These cabins are mainly visited when you are closing up for the night after a long exciting day. They are also used for storing whatever you aren't carrying with yourself throughout the day. These cabins include four bunk beds, eight drawers, and eight cabinets. The cabins also have a shower area outside with an open room providing an open feel. The cabins also have a basic bathroom nearby. These cabins may not be used that often, but they are as great as the rest of this wonderful adventure.
For many years I would pass by the house and long to stop and look at it. One day I realized that the house was just that, a house. While it served as a physical reminder of my childhood, the actual memories and experiences I had growing up there were what mattered, and they would stay with me forever.
I walked downstairs to the basement of my grandpa Jack’s. His house was in boxes. his memories, life, and possessions neatly sorted into cardboard boxes. I slowly walked to the closest portion of his life. It was labeled Keegan. My mom walks over with tears in her eyes.
Four years ago I lost a very special person in my life from cancer. My grandpa's death had a huge impact on my life along with my other family members. My grandpa was my biggest fan and probably the Wisconsin Badger's as well. Every game I could look into the stands and he would be there. Since he has passed, before every basketball game I think of him saying "Shoot a couple 3's for me tonight". I used this as an inspiration to do my best in every play of the game. My grandpa helped me set personal goals such as making fifty three's in a season, which I accomplished my last game of my junior year.
As I walked closer to the cabin, which has been abandoned since last summer, I noticed certain materials are stored away, for the winter, such as the grill, which is taken off the hinges around the fire pit, and put underneath the cabin deck. The canoe is upside down and tightly snugged underneath the cabin deck. I also noticed the picnic tab...
What a great place to play games during those long cold northern winters. The family owned a mile of lake frontage, which included two beaches, a sandbar, a cranberry bog, and numerous docks for diving and boating. A playground fit for a prince. Most children would grow up looking for
I grew up in a little house in the big woods. A log cabin, one room, with a cozy cellar and an attic filled with herbs, garden vegetables, and jams.

The familiar smell of soft cookies and homemade cooking are common thoughts when people think about their grandma's house. Great feasts and family gatherings play a part in everyone's grandmother's home. But when I really think about my grandma's house only one word comes to my mind: fun.
The air is really fresh, and the wind is comfortable. Grandma usually opened the window during the daytime; I still remembered that feeling when the sunshine came in house and scatter. I walking among those numerous grand trees and admire colored leaves on the trees and on the ground. I miss that feeling of calmness and stability of the world around. I wish I could return the reality of those feelings once more. Memories in mind and never forget about happiness of staying in my grandmother’s house. Grandparent’s time-honored gift to their grandchildren is their unconditional love, unfettered by schedules, routines or commitments. They reinforced their grandchildren’s sense of security and self-value.
