One day before Christmas at my house Jackie, Perla and I were playing Monopoly because they came for a sleepover. I pleasantly offered them Christmas treats that my mom already made and was baking more at the kitchen for tomorrow morning ,Christmas. My mom jinxed it and said “If you play for a long time you could teleport into the board game” I replied hopeless ¨I don’t think that could actually happen mom”. Couple hours later we saw a galaxy tunnel forming on top of The Monopoly Board Game. We walked towards the tunnel and we jumped in. We started floating and turning miniature size we all tried to stay together. We started shaking our legs like jelly as like we were going to tear apart.
First, we decided to yell for help as hard as we could to see if my mom would hear us, but we noticed we were too far in the tunnel. Our hands were shaking because we were miniature size

We tried calling and finally she answered and told me “ You didn’t listen to me know you have to figure it out know break a leg.” We kept on thinking what to do over and over again. We were stuck down on the tunnel and tried to climb up but it was to slippery. Then we tried to make go on top of each other to see if we could reach the top of the tunnel. That was a total fail we tried to think of more ideas but we ran out.
Suddenly, a brilliant idea came through my mind perhaps if we lean at the same time we could get out of here. All of us were trying to lean to get out of there. The plan worked and we were out of the tunnel. We couldn’t believe we were out , but we were. My mom had some Christmas treats already set on the table with hot chocolate. I saw my mom and I gave her a hug and told her “I will always listen to you from now on since I learned my lesson.” We all started crying with tears of joy and happiness. We prepared the cookies that my mom made and milk for Santa
With competition, people have incentive to improve. Last fall, my father had the idea for the two of us to have a competition and see who could do more sit-ups by the end of the year. This would be part of my offseason baseball training and his normal exercise. We were both doing hundreds of sit-ups a day, and I eventually won. In the end, we were both the winners because this was very good exercise for our body, which probably would not have been done without the competition. At the end of each of my basketball lessons, my coach and I would play a short game of one versus one. At first, he would always win. I grew tired of always losing to
TIRAINE, no, RITINAE, no, INAIRET no…..INERTIA! INERTIA! I quickly place the tiles on the board in a moment of victory. Yes, I did just begin my personal statement with a bunch of mumbo jumbo nonexistent words. But this moment, my very first seven letter word in Scrabble, which means an extra fifty points added to your score, accurately represents the joy I feel when playing board games.
Growing up as an only child I made out pretty well. You almost can’t help but be spoiled by your parents in some way. And I must admit that I enjoyed it; my own room, T.V., computer, stereo, all the material possessions that I had. But there was one event in my life that would change the way that I looked at these things and realized that you can’t take these things for granted and that’s not what life is about.
...The lifeguard yelled, "Keep your hands and your feet together." I sat down on the edge at the very top of the slide, he gave me a hard, fast push and I was off.
As I walked out of the courthouse and down the ramp, I looked at my mom in disappointment and embarrassment. Never wanting to return to that dreadful place, I slowly drug my feet back to the car. I wanted to curl up in a little ball and I didn't want anyone else to know what I had done. Gaining my composure, I finally got into the car. I didn't even want to hear what my mom had to say. My face was beat red and I was trying to hide my face in the palms of my hands because I knew what was about to come; she was going to start asking me questions, all of the questions I had been asking myself. Sure enough, after a short period of being in the car, the questions began.
My partner, Beth Lewis, told me it was my turn to physically make the rescue. I threw the ladder out and waited till we hovered over the victim. It was showtime! I jumped onto the ladder and got to about the 3rd step when I saw something out of the corner of my eye.

There was a warm breeze coming from the ocean, it was 2013. The heat was slamming against the play structure making it really warm. I told my mom the whole way there how excited I was. I was the happiest person to play on the play structure although I didn't know what could happen. I went with a few of my friend such as; Bella, Sydney, and Ethan we were playing all over the play structure we went on the swings. We had snacks, we played with the little stream. Until we saw the rock climbing wall. We climbed up it and down, then back up we stayed up at the top and talked about how we could see every thing. We climbed down and got snacks and brought them up.
SWISH! I turn my head to the right with a grin and see my mom cheering as I scored my first points of the season. The last game of the season I scored my first points of my middle school basketball “career.” Now sit back and relax as you read the story of how I got my first points in middle school basketball.
On the Monday October 27th, 2014, for the first time in 4 years I did not wake up at 5:30 in the morning, I was not putting on a green skivvy shirt and shorts. There was no formation, no one that was higher command I had to report to, telling me where I had to go, what time I had to eat breakfast, what was I doing this day or what our platoon plans were for the day. There were no PT (physical training) I had to do this morning. Instead, I woke up grab a regular t-shirt, khaki shorts, and my two sea bags full of clothing and gear that I collected during my time in the Marine Corps. I threw everything in my vehicle and drove from Camp Pendleton, California to Quincy, Illinois. Within two weeks I was accepted to Southern Illinois University Carbondale. For three days, I stayed at the
jumping, pushing and head-banging. In all this chaos I suddenly felt out of breath, we all clambered out of the pit and onto the steps. One of my friends kept asking me if I was OK and I said that I felt really out of breath and had a sharp pain in my chest. We came to the conclusion that I had probably cracked a rib.
I could no longer function. I made the short drive to my parents’ house and asked my mom to
back to the room and was scolded by my mom. My mom held on to my arm

...ion in a town called San Clemente, ten of us were carefully placed in the front part of a pickup truck. After about ten minutes my legs started to fall asleep from how cramped we were. I told the driver that my child and I would not be able to stay in that position for the whole trip. He stopped at a gasoline station and rearranged the ten of us.
