A few years ago, I was lucky enough to travel to the one of the memorable places in the world: Maui, Hawaii. The scene that struck me the most there was Honolua Bay. It was filled with sights of crystal, clear, aquamarine water. I could hear the sounds of crashing waves, and smell the scent of fresh air. I could feel the wind constantly blowing through my hair. While visiting Honolua Bay, there were numerous things that brought happiness to my mind; such as the spectacular sounds, extravagant smells, unique taste, sensational feelings, and most of all the breathtaking scenery of blue skies. As I stared into the beautiful scenery, taking in all the surroundings, I could feel the blistering sun beaming onto my skin. My toes were sinking into the grainy, slick sand. Touching the sand was like touching sugar. It felt smooth yet rough. As I strolled through the sand, and turned to look back, I could see a perfect imprint. The smells were intoxicating. My nostrils flared as the scent of tasty coconuts filled the air. I could taste the delicious coconut milk on the tip of my tongue. The exotic, sweet scented fruits sent an illuminating feeling. I wanted so badly to grab some fresh fruit off the tree. …show more content…
I could imagine the taste of the tasteful bright, yellow, crisp pineapple. My visit at Honolua Bay was a tranquil experience and just kept getting better! I was completely taken in by the soothing, relaxing, peaceful atmosphere.
I was encircled by the scenery of the miraculously beautiful rainbow. Colors of all shades struck out to me. It was like an artist painted perfection in the sky. To my right, were sky scraping palm trees! The leaves were so fresh looking and an illuminating color of green. It was a perfect area of shade to relax and drift into my own world. The scenery was so calm that not a cloud obscured the deep serene .Additionally, the sounds of the rhythmic pounding of the waves repressed all of my worries. As I closed my eyes to listen to the pure sounds, I felt the breeze gliding across my skin. It was such an amazing feeling; it gave me chills. It was a stunning thing to experience. I was truly in
paradise. Experiencing Maui enlightened my soul. I have never felt so alive. As the waves gently crashed along the shores, it was as if they were pulling me in asking me to join them. I look forward to traveling there soon. I can already smell the exotic sweet scented fruits and see the jaw dropping sights. It was a truly experience of a life time. The soothing sounds, scents, taste, and gorgeous scenery of Honolua Bay will never be forgotten.
Imagine yourself sitting on a lava rock cliff, hearing the ocean pounding the rock wall below. The salty sea spray cools your lips and the taste tickles your tongue. Feeling the sun against your skin, it is cooled by the mix of mist and breeze that plays with the palm trees. You could say I grew up in a place most people can only daydream about. When most people hear of where I grew up all they can picture is paradise. There is so much more to the “Aloha State” than the stale beachside hotels covered in an abundance of hibiscus prints with pineapples around every turn. The people, food, and land are the heart of the Hawaiian Islands.
The smell of the restaurants faded and the new, refreshing aroma of the sea salt in the air took over. The sun’s warmth on my skin and the constant breeze was a familiar feeling that I loved every single time we came to the beach. I remember the first time we came to the beach. I was only nine years old. The white sand amazed me because it looked like a wavy blanket of snow, but was misleading because it was scorching hot. The water shone green like an emerald, it was content. By this I mean that the waves were weak enough to stand through as they rushed over me. There was no sense of fear of being drug out to sea like a shipwrecked sailor. Knowing all this now I knew exactly how to approach the beach. Wear my sandals as long as I could and lay spread out my towel without hesitation. Then I’d jump in the water to coat myself in a moist protective layer before returning to my now slightly less hot towel. In the water it was a completely different world. While trying to avoid the occasional passing jellyfish, it was an experience of
When I stepped out of the hot, airless plane into the bright, dazzling sunlight beaming down across the burning concreate, I felt excited and nervous. Holding my beach bag in my hand and slipping my Ray Ban sunglasses on with my other, I flip-flopped down the airspace. Overhead I heard the screams of gulls and the chatter of the small fluffy birds. I suddenly realized I had arrived to Hawaii. This trip was such an unforgettable vacation for me because I got to witness the beauty of nature that Hawaii has to offer.
When my family and I could feel the warm fine sand, the gentle cool breeze, witness the crystal clear aquamarine ocean and swaying palm trees, and smell the sweet fragrant scent of plumerias, we must have gone to heaven. The enchanting beauty of this Hawaiian island, Maui, gives us a sense of warmth, peace, and serenity. In search of paradise, we explore the infamous Road to Hana, snorkel with underwater marine life, and journey back in time to experience the true customs, traditional cuisine and the original song, music and dance of Hawaii at a luau.
Hawai'i is a land full of diverse people and ideas, starting from the Polynesians who decided to cross the ocean to settle and form the traditions practiced today by the Hawaiians. Unlike many other states, the beliefs of Hawai'i have managed to stay alive. Its unique culture is what attracts tourists most. Many people see it as a vacation spot, full of fun attractions and say, “When I go to Hawai'i I'm going to get some Hawaiian tattoos, they look so cool!” or “I'm going to buy a hula skirt, they're really pretty!” But all those hula dances and tattoos are not just for show. People do not know that there is more to it than ink or hip swaying; behind every hula skirt and every tattoo there is a story. Hawai’i’s culture consists of the significance of its dances, tattoos, and traditions that give Hawaiians their unique lifestyle.
Although I am only 15 years old and have not had too much life experience, I have experienced something that already has and will continue to change my life majorly in a very positive way. My parents decision to enlist me in the wilderness program in Hawaii, Pacific Quest was the reason why I now know so much more about myself and the reasons behind some of my previous actions. This decision has also led me to accept the beauty of nature and become more grateful for the world that we live in.
A significant moment in her life was the time she moved from Hawaii to Colorado. It was not a smooth transition between two completely different places. Nevertheless, she would manage to fall in love with Colorado just as much as her Hawaiian home.
It was the last day of school, my friends and I all planned to go to Kings Island the next day. There is a big problem, the thing is I don’t ride rollercoasters and I’m terrified to get on one, I tried to act excited when my buddies kept talking about it but it was just hard because I’d be the boring one not getting on any of the rides. I knew that this trip was going either make me conquer my fears or become more scared of them.
The gleaming sun is an orange on fire waiting to be picked. The silky, smooth sand that gushes between the toes, just soothes and warms anyone’s body. That incredible moment of the salty ocean breeze cooling the sweat right of hot pedestrians. The gorgeous palm trees spread about chasing people to give them relief and joy as they lay in the comforting hammocks to relax in peace. The pina-coladas spread through the body and refresh people with their cool and creamy substance that slowly soothes anyone’s throat. The experience is one of a
I’m being held in a prison on a Hawaiian island and I am here because I had committed horrible actions yesterday. In the cell there is very minimal light and it is gloomy. My cell mates, who are other foreigners, are very dismal and tired of being in here. Being in this cell feels like an endless hole of nothingness and it is swallowing me up completely to the point of no return. The clothes I am currently wearing are ripped up and very grimy with many dark stains, and I can’t believe this is happening to me.
I can hear the pounding of the waves against the shore, moving rhythmically with the wind blowing past my face. I feel the hot sand surrounding my toes, only to be cooled down by the touch of the salty deep-blue sea. I listen to mom hysterically laugh as my dad tells another one of his “dad jokes” and as my older brother helps me keep my balance when the waves try to knock me over like a bowling pin. This is the descriptive story that brings me joy to tell my younger brother about my favorite Hawaiian trip before he was born, even though it is impossible for me to remember this from when I was only 3 years old. Why do I torture my brother by gloating to him about this perfect trip? I do it on account of what his birth imposed on me, the curse of being a middle child.
We got there right after the sun’s peak time ended, so around 3pm, and my breath was taken away by it’s beauty. The sand is so soft, it feels like a fuzzy blanket on a cold fall day. When I walked on the beach I could faintly smell the of salt. As I would walk into the water, I could feel my skin tighten as the salt water would touch my skin. Then, as I got out of the water, I could taste the salt lingering on my lips.
It was a breezy and cloudy June morning as I made my way through Door County traffic. My best memory was driving up here was when I was about 10 head dangling out the window as the wind blew in my face. As I drove through the small towns I saw the rustic houses, cute cafes, and pedestrians enjoying their day. I drove a little farther and suddenly saw the great and sparkling blue Lake Michigan and the ferry dock where I would soon be boarding. This would be my 100th time on this boat going to Washington Island, but I knew would still get the same sick feeling. I slowly approached the ticket booth, purchased my two-way ticket, and pulled onto the boat. It was a windy day and the waves were splashing high on the side of the ferry. I got out of

After that five day canoe trip, I came to the realization that people do not enjoy life to the fullest. The inconsequential and trivial everyday matters seem to stress even the best of us. Personally, I took the small things during my trip too seriously that ultimately had an adverse effect on my enjoyment and pleasure. I was so confused on the small details that I failed to appreciate the entire picture. I was so troubled that I failed to remember why I was on the canoe trip in the first place. Sometimes, it was much easier to forget all the little troubles that life throws at us and enjoy the moment. For me, it was the moment with the panoramic view that put me at ease. Furthermore, every moment in life should be approached with awe and wonder and it is one’s job to live life to its fullest.
