In my senior year of high school, I took a trip to Seattle, Washington. We sightsaw most of the greatest parts of Seattle, like Seattle Waterfront Tour, the Space Needle, Chihuly Garden and Glass, and even the Experience Music Project Museum. There is one place that has really stayed vivid in my memory, it was my time a Pike Place Market. I could witness some amazing things, such as the tossing of the fish and beautiful bouquets of flowers lining the entrance. When you visit a new place, it can be the most exciting and liberating experiences. When you first walk up the entrance of Pike Place Market, you are faced with the icy breeze from the Elliot Bay. The street is lined with shops that sell antique furniture with rich wood and floral patterns, …show more content…
Looking to the left you see the entrance is filled with perfectly arranged bouquets of golden sunflowers, bright red, white, and pink snapdragons, perfect little white daisies, and deep red roses ready to be bought and taken home. Past the wonderful flower display, there are a few fruit and vegetable vendors with perfectly placed produce on their shelves that look like they just came out of a magazine. Plump reddish pink raspberries are lined in flimsy light green baskets that are filled to the brim, with fist sized blood red pomegranates right next to them. Neatly stacked lemons as bright as the sun, vibrant green limes, and perfectly circular oranges. The sweet scent of strawberries comes through the air into your nose as you walk by to look at the freshly caught see …show more content…
All the fish looks like they are about to start flopping around to get back to the ocean. Someone who wishes to buy a select fish for dinner that evening goes to the cashier, the cahier will then call out the order to the fishmongers dressed in orange full body aprons with black beanies and hats. They get the fish and call out the order, they all chant in unison, all of them with a huge smile on their faces. They all make everyone’s day brighter than when they first walked in. Some say that people can make a day better, while others say that sweets are the culprit. If you have a sweet tooth, then head on over to Pike Place Bakery, the place there everything is made by the hands of angels. The pastries and donuts are so light and airy that it’s hard to believe that they even exist. The smell alone is good enough to just visit the bakery. When you visit the bakery, you look in the glass display cases and your mouth waters at the sight of donuts that are half the size of your face covered in powdered sugar or melted chocolate glaze. The eclairs that are decorated with chocolate cream and topped with a glowing red maraschino
Each person has a place that calls to them, a house, plot of land, town, a place that one can call home. It fundamentally changes a person, becoming a part of who they are. The old summer cabins, the bedroom that was always comfortable, the library that always had a good book ready. The places that inspire a sense of nostalgic happiness, a place where nothing can go wrong.
Everyone loves sightseeing and being tourists because observing beautiful places gives people an opportunity to relax and enjoy their moment away from home. Whether they are exploring new, exciting places where you live, or far away from home, sightseeing is one of the greatest pleasures to do in life. I have been to a numerous number of places across the world, and I have to say that Hawaii and San Francisco are both wonderful places to visit. Hawaii and San Francisco, two of the top ten tourist destinations in the United States that attract people from all over the world, resulting in the astonishing landmarks such as Pearl Harbor and Alcatraz Island.
When you look back in time, remembering events that have happened, only the important and most significant moments stick with you. The memories may be slightly foggy, details and dates may be mixed but the main memory is always intact. When I look back at growing up in Jeffersonville, Indiana I have many of these memories. Jeffersonville is a city where not that much happens. Most people who live here go to the surrounding towns and cities, such as Clarksville, IN and Louisville KY to enjoy shopping, dining and entertainment so it was to our excitement when an artist installed a 20ft statue in the industrial area of our boring town.
I spent my first few hours in Seattle breathing in sea breeze and getting accustomed to the lack of sunshine. Having walked down the waterfront, I halted at the end of the road right in front of the Pike Place Market. Although I'd heard about the iconic market, I had no idea what to expect. From what I'd heard from friends, it's the ultimate destination for all types of fresh produce and oceanic catch.
My first experience at the museum was a good one. I had so much fun even after we were done with the Norton-Simon. Being a business major, I did not know that art could speak to me as it did. It has not influenced me so much as to change my major, but it did open my eyes to a whole new world. Now when I look at art, I do not just see a pretty picture, but what the artist is actually trying to say.
Have you ever looked off a gigantic cliff? Now imagine traveling 30 miles per hour on a bike with curvy roads with enormous cliffs on your side with no rails. This is exactly what I did with my family when we went to Colorado. From the hotel we drove to a bike tour place to take us to the summit of Pikes Peak. After we arrived at the building we saw pictures of how massive the cliffs were, but what terrified me was the fact they had no side rails. This observation was thrilling as well as terrifying. It was an odd mix of emotions, but I loved the adrenaline rush it gave me. My dad whispered to me, “ This will be absolutely horrifying”.
I wonder if I should I start calling Las Vegas, Nevada home now. I’ve traveled back and forth from California to Las Vegas since I was a child. I can remember at the age of thirteen my family and I would take family weekend trips very often. By the age of seventeen I was forced to move to Vegas for 6 months right before my senior year of high school started. Since it was my last year of high school my parents decided to let me go back to California for the last three months and graduate with my friends. Since I wasn’t eighteen yet, I forced to go back to Las Vegas right the day after graduation.
Going to the Shedd Aquarium was such a fun and interesting experience. Now I can always remember going to the Shedd Aquarium with my sister because of the picture and the snow globe with dolphins in it that I got from the gift shop. We were lucky because we got the last dolphin snow globe the rest of them were sharks. This was a great way for my sister and I to spend time together and I really hope we can do it again
A significant moment in her life was the time she moved from Hawaii to Colorado. It was not a smooth transition between two completely different places. Nevertheless, she would manage to fall in love with Colorado just as much as her Hawaiian home.
I started to watch a T.V show called Fraiser it was a little to grown up for me, but I just watched because it was set in Seattle. I was facinated because even though it was fake and I knew they were all acting. I was seen somebody or some people living in Seattle. Every time I saw that show I felt a little close to that city that for some reason for it me sounds like a glamorous and calm place to live. I was over the moon when I saw Fraiser. I still watch it sometimes when it’s been repeated on some channels. It makes me go back to my desire to go to this city.. Another thing that set my mind on Seattle was the romantic movie Sleepless in Seattle. Seeing Tom Hanks living in a boathouse in Seattle and it show a little about the city just made me good there more. And it makes me want to go there more everyday. As you can see mom and dad this desire for that city that semis so far away always follows me.
I started studying health and nutrition when I joined Herbalife in August of 2014. I decided to study health and nutrition, because my weight was out of control and I wanted to find a way to live a healthier lifestyle. In 2014 I started making healthier food choices and along with exercising consistently, was able to drop twenty pounds in one month. Losing the weight led me to become a health and wellness trainer and to be a successful trainer I knew I had to increase my knowledge on health and nutrition.
Some people like to stay in control of their life and avoid any amount of extraordinary risk to protect their self-disclosure. Other people don’t shy away from challenges as they are confident that certain obstacles are nothing more than just another thing standing in their way from living life to the fullest extent. Through personal experience, I’ve realized that personal comfort is nothing more than a variety of fears that limit me from challenging myself.
I have many memories that have left a big impact on me. But these memories hold a special place in my heart. They are both surrounded by nature and my admiration for simple things in life. When I visited Butchart Gardens, I thought this was a place for older generation to admire and enjoy. I had never been this fascinated by flowers. The scent of flowers is so mesmerizing.
such an enjoyable class trip spot at first, but with a little bit of the spirit of adventure
The place that I visited was New York City over the summer about three years ago. My mom and I stayed with my aunt who lives in Poughkeepsie, which is about thirty minutes outside of New York City. Poughkeepsie is a small town that you find outside of a big city, it was a small family owned shops that consisted of knick knacks and second-hand stores. My mom and I got in on a late Friday night so we didn 't go out to see the town and instead headed to bed.
