My car is getting old, so because of normal wear and tear I perform a monthly preventive maintenance check. That means it is better to find and fix a small problem now then to discover a big expensive problem later. I start by opening the hood to check out the engine and its various components.
If you have never taught a little girl how to drive, then be prepared for the ride of your life. I love my little cousin, but she made this day the most interesting, hard, and annoying ever. Teaching her involved one wreck, and one long lecture from our grandparents. Even though driving a side-by-side is very exciting, my little cousin made it the worst thing in the world.
I remember the day she born. I was nervous for the simple fact that my life would never be the same. Soon no longer would I be known as just Ayanna, I would take on a new title. A title that I would share with so many woman, and after eight long hours of labor, I would now be known to the world as mommy.
I got my car right before the beginning of summer. Brand new was not an option so I opted for a shiny-black, used Jeep Liberty. It was not in meant condition, but I was just exstatic as long as it had air conditioning that might just turn my fingers blue with frostbite. I had my car for a total of four months, however, before it became an unsightly crime scene. How did my car get wrecked one might ask? It all boils down to one decision I made. One bad choice could destroy a lot of things, so don’t let people convince you into making rash decisions. That was my mistake, and I'm still paying for it.
“Sure we will take three bags of peanuts” said my mom to the nice flight attendant. My family and I were on a tiny airplane when I was just a baby. As I have been told, I have always been very good on long trips. However something about this tiny plane did not settle well with me and a series of events happened. My family and I were flying to Yellowstone National Park for a family reunion. We were flying from New York City to Jackson Hole WY. As I said this was a tiny, boarder line old plane, so that meant that if I were to cry the whole plane could hear. Now this was not my first plane ride as a baby, however this was especially an unforgettable flight. As you can imagine that was a long flight for a baby. During the decent down to Jackson
The car ride was reduced to complete silence. My head was turned towards the window, longing to be anywhere but there. I noticed the road curve in the distance, the thick trees swaying in the wind, and the sky turn dark ominous shades of blue. My thoughts drifted but always seemed to be pulled back to our problems. Was it my fault? No it couldn't be. Whenever your temper got out of hand you pinned it on me. Yet somehow I was always left with the feeling the overwhelming feeling of guilt for resenting you. It was like a constant tug a war between forgiveness or refusing to accept your behavior. I glanced over at you, driving with one hand on the wheel, the other resting against your head. Your jaw was clenched tightly and you had that crease
Introduction The Segway Personal Transporter (PT) is a self-balancing two-wheeled, battery-powered personal transportation device with a set of handlebars, see Figures below. It is self-balancing, really easy to operate and a personal commuter can travel up to 12 miles/hour. Although Segway is a technological marvel, it did not quite match the high expectations when it was first revealed in the press in 2001. Initially the press were carried away with this new interesting device and its potential to change the world and how we commute.
There aren’t many events in my life that come into my mind when I think about past memories. However, growing up in a low-income immigrant family from Vietnam, we could only afford one vehicle. Thus, ten different family members shared this one vehicle which made even the simplest of task difficult like going to Wal-Mart to buy food for the family. I remember there was a point in my life when I turned sixteen that I decided to help by getting a job to pay the monthly bills, but even that task was difficult to accomplish since I didn’t always having the transportation I needed to get to work consistently. Every other day I was running late or missing working completely because someone else had to use the car for that
When I was seven years old I learned how to ride a bike I started of in a less bumpy place then I started in a more crowded area. I remember the feeling of the wind flowing through my hair as I rode. My step dad and step brother were both cheering me on. They yelled for me to fall over because I was rolling toward the road. I fingered the ground that was as hard as a rock. I was fine I just got up and brushed myself off.
I lived with my father for my entire life, but due to his work I did not spend much time with him. My father worked at a different city; and thus he comes home only a few times a month. My father is a mechanic. He works at a company that is distant from our home. This was due to the company being the only one and the first where cars were being assembled in Ethiopia. Sometimes on the weekends I used to go to his work place. He would give me a trip of the place; the station was filled with vehicles, trucks, and motorcycles. It was separated by sections. In each section there were only one type of vehicle and the assembly process was shown step by step. From a fuse to large engine of the car, components were getting attached.
