I was just boarding the plane to go to Arizona. We were going to Tucson, Az to visit my grandparents. We always have fun there. We almost always go swimming on their pool because on average, the temp there is around 97 degrees Fahrenheit. Just because it’s hot, doesn’t mean that it’s gonna ruin a great trip to Arizona. The plane rides to Arizona are always long and cool rides. I mean “cool” in both it was Air Conditioned and Awesome! After 4 hours into our flight, and the Pilot says over the speakerphone, “New Mexico dead ahead!” I looked at and out my window, and I see… Mountains. Only mountains. Then there was the problem. The plane hit turbulence and sent the plane in a downward dive.. In my head I was saying, we are going to die!!. Then,
me and my sister shout, “We are gonna die!!” Me and my sister were freaking out big time. (By the way, my family is just me, my sister, my mom and dad.) Any way, we were really freaking out. Like, going NUTS AND CRAZY AND JUMPING AROUND SCREAMING “WE ARE ALL GONNA DIE!!!!!” The plane could not point up, and then I realized that the pilot and copilot were unconscious. I knew there was no way we would right the plane up. We just keep gliding down and I remember my dad saying planes fly at like 400 miles per hour. So we were diving at 400-550 miles an hour. We dive-bombing so fast pieces of plastic sticker on the plane flew off. My mom and dad were frantically looking for me and my sister. I shouted to my mom, “Will we be okay?” She shouted back over all the chaos, “Yes, just come here!” I told my sister to go by mom, so me and her tried to walk up the plane because they were in the back and we were up front. So we were basically walking up a huge vertical “stairway”. We were almost to the bottom of the plane by my mom and dad, but then the plane lurched even more, and me and my sister fell back and hit our heads on the steering wheel and got knocked unconscious. I all I could say before I blacked out was a muffled, “Help.”
One of the most surprising and uncommon events happened to me in the summer of 2015, Sedona, Arizona. It started out as a pleasant summer getaway; visiting the Grand Canyon, Sedona rock slides, and just having an amazing, memorable time with friends and family. One day, we decided that it would be enjoyable to have a picnic in the forest. The trees were deep green and lush. The tranquil, relaxing stream of a nearby river could be heard, and birds were chirping cheerfully. After lunch, we all decided upon venturing deeper into the forest near the river. On a rock, a single bright, pastel green caterpillar- equipped with unique spikes, caught our eyes. None of us had ever seen such a creature. We were captivated and intrigued. Since we were not
Zig-zag, back and forth, down, down, down, Jonathon, Dad, and I went into a mysterious new world. Now that I have gone into this hot, dry canyon surrounded by monstrous hoodoos, I have seen what it is really like to leave the small town of Seymour, and emerge into the greatness of this world. I have now seen several other National Parks on one of the most renowned places on earth for mysterious creations, the Colorado Plateau. Of all the beautiful places on it, even the Grand Canyon, I have found my favorite one. Bryce Canyon National Park. I thought it was amazing, because it was the most diverse to anything I have ever seen before. We hiked down into it and I felt like I was surrounded by skyscrapers. We trekked around a little, but we didn’t
It was the summer of 2012 and my family was taking another trip to Six Flags Great America. Earlier that summer we went just for me to be disappointed. At the time I wasn’t 54 inches yet and couldn’t ride any of the rides that I wanted to because they were the most popular at the amusement park. But, I hit a growth spurt between trips and we planned to ride all of the big rollercoasters. The one that I was most terrified of at the time was Raging Bull, one of the tallest, fastest, and longest steel coasters in the US. As we started to wait in line for the ride I was shaking with both anticipation and fear and began to rethink my idea to ride the rollercoaster. I decided to stay in line and see what many people thought was a great coaster.
For years I’ve been planning a family vacation but had never decided a pleasant and fascinating place to visit. A lot of people relate the adventures in San Antonio for tourists. To mention a few, The Riverwalk, Sea World, Six Flags Fiesta, and The Tower of the Americas are the main attractions that would be perfect for a family trip. I was so enthusiastic and explored more into it. I gave my family the great news of going and exploring this amazing city on our own! San Antonio offers the best of attractions and activities in all Texas! Whether you’re looking for popular entertainment for the whole family or to spend time with your friends, I was so positive I had made a superb decision!
The longest I’ve ever lived in one place was the nine years that my family and I lived in
As my father and I finally fit the statue of the little Virgin Mary in the back of the car, it was time to get on the road. I could already taste the guavas from my great grandfather’s ranch. Feeling the warmth of the sun on my skin. The smell of my aunt’s cooking. Hearing the excitement of my great grandmother’s voice. I wanted to be there already, be in the beautiful country of Mexico. My thoughts wandered as we left my house. How much welcome, love, and the sadness of leaving was going to happen. It was too soon to find out.
Have you ever been to Texas? I have been once. My trip to Texas was unbelievably awesome. I saw many of things on my way there. While we were there, I had loads of fun. Many things happened while we were there. Texas was the coolest place I have ever been.
It was a warm rainy June night the humidity was high which made it even harder to breathe on the crammed boat. My family was asleep on the constantly rocking boat suddenly the boat shook, but my family was still fast asleep. I couldn’t seem to fall asleep so I got up and stepped out on the cold wet steel boats upper deck to get some air. When I got outside I realized that it was pouring bucket sized rain. I saw increasingly large waves crash furiously against the lower deck. Hard water droplets pelted my face, I could taste the salt water in my mouth from the spray of the ocean. Suddenly A massive wave slammed hard against the ship and almost swallowed the boat. Wind gusts started kicking up. I held onto the rail grasping it as if it were my prized possession. Suddenly I was blown
My youth pastor pulled out of our church parking lot at three am in the morning loaded down with a bus full of twenty four teenagers including me. We were off at last head to Colorado Spring Colorado, little did I know, our bus was going to fall apart this very day.
stood upon, was frightening. The only was to go was down. I took a deep
With music blasting, voices singing and talking, it was another typical ride to school with my sister. Because of our belated departure, I went fast, too fast. We started down the first road to our destination. This road is about three miles long and filled with little hills. As we broke the top of one of the small, blind hills in the middle of the right lane was a dead deer. Without any thought, purely by instinct I pulled the wheel of the car to the left and back over to the right. No big deal but I was going fast. The car swerved back to the left, to the right, to the left. Each time I could feel the car scratching the earth with its side. My body jolted with the sporadic movements of the car. The car swerved to the right for the last time. With my eyes sealed tight, I could feel my body float off the seat of the car.
there was no possible fishing hole in sight. All I could see was a river
One of the most enjoyable things in life are road trips, particularly to the Colorado mountains. Getting to spend time with your family and friends, while being in a beautiful place, is irreplaceable. The fifteen-hour road trip may feel never-ending, but gazing at the mountains from afar makes life’s problems seem a little smaller and causes worries to become a thing of the past. Coming in contact with nature, untouched, is a surreal experience. My family trip to the Colorado mountains last summer was inspiring.
Going on a road trip with my family means the world to me. We drove to another state during summer vacation, and it was by far the best road trip I have ever been on. My family and I were able to go to many fun places. We ate so many exotic and delicious foods as well. Yet most importantly, I spent time with my family and their friends. It was the day when my family and I went to California for our summer vacation.
Throughout someone’s life they will go to many places with their family, friends, another relatives. I have been on a few vacations that have made a lasting impact on my life. But one of the most memorable vacations I have experienced was with my cousins. I went to goa beach. Most of you probably don’t know about that beach but it is a very famous one in south India. I enjoyed myself to the fullest. The beach environment was enlightening. I would not have wanted to take this trip with anyone other than my cousins. We had a great time on the ocean sands and swimming in the ocean everyday made this vacation unforgettable.
